PowerStrike with Ilaria?

I know there are a few Ilaria fans here, I found out about her recently on the boards. Does anyone know where you can purchase her full line of dvds? Amazon only has one of the Forza and one Powerstrike (which i bought, and really like). I've checked many of the other standard fitness video sites with no luck.

I sent an email to the info address on her website, haven't heard back yet though.

Thanks for any info!

I too am curious. I've been looking for another kickbox workout, . . . saw the preview on college video and it looks like something I'd like. I was surprised to read some of the reviews that thought it was to easy though. What are your thoughts on her DVD's? I just hate Billy Blanks style of teaching. Which is a shame I think that the workouts are not bad I just can't get past the whole, group counting thing (very annoying), and I hate it when he stops to instruct, somehow I find that sooo distracting. Oh and I can never understand a word he's saying. I'd love to find a hard core kickbox workout that is fun.

That is so funny, I feel exactly the same way about Billy Blanks, I truly can't stand the videos at all, even if they are solid workouts, I don't care, I have to enjoy it. Do you have Cathe's KPC, cause that one is awesome! And I really like Turbo Jam too.

I JUST got an email back about purchasing dvds, here is what they said"
"we are going to set up a section for sales on our site in September. The new DVDs are now set to be released later in the month and Amazon will carry them as well as Collage."

Their website is powerstrike.com

So, my thoughts on the DVD, I bought the only Powerstrike I can find on Amazon, her accent is not very strong like others said, and I could understand her from the start. The music is not too loud either, and I really liked the music.

I also REALLY enjoyed the workout, thought it was very fun to do. I like her, I like the format, nothing was annoying at all. I did it this morning, and I just felt awake and energized after doing it, like I wanted to go do more, and a few hours later I'm starting to feel a little good soreness in my arms. Her form is perfect, she's a total Martial Arts pro.

So with that said, I will admit, it is not close to a hard core cardio workout. I added in some jumping when she marched to up it a bit. I did work up a sweat, but easily could have done it again. Next time I will do it with my weighted gloves. And I will be buying more of her videos when they are available.

I think this is a great workout for those days you really want to move, but do not want real high intensity, or in addition to another workout if you are looking for a longer workout session.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I have all of Cathe's kickboxing DVD's. I just love them. Especially the 4day split even though it is only 30 minutes. No one does kickboxing like Cathe. Do you know if it is true that her next series of DVD's are going to be a boxercise series?

I love powerstrike kickboxing!!! Her older workouts are harder to get because they are only available on VHS. I believe Ilaria ships those out herself. You just have to e-mail her and she'll get back to you. She is more like a coach and her style is focused on proper technique which is very important for kickboxing. The choreography isn't too difficult and there is hardly no impact in her workouts. This is why many people find her workouts to be intermediate in intensity but I believe if you focus your energy on the punching and kicking then you'll get a killer workout. Just look at her killer body!!! Hope this helps.

I've heard that rumor too quite a few times, and sooooo hope it is true. I had originally heard it proposed as a mixed martial arts series, but now because of the shopcathe section "boxercise", I have heard it referred to that too. I like the sound of MMA better, it sounds tougher ;)

The next series is supposed to be a "Mixed Martial Arts" series (if I recall correctly, kickboxing, boxing and maybe something else? It was what the proposed 4 (?) boxing workouts turned into).

I'm really anxious to get that one, so I HOPE it's still in the works for the next round of workouts.

Well, I hope that it is true that Cathe comes out with a boxercise. I'd have STS and a Cathe boxercise regimine, . . . hey I'd be set. I checked out Ilaria's site and that forza samurai sword workout sounds awesome! It says that her new DVD's would be available late August. I've sent an e-mail asking where to get them. Hopefully I get a response.

Have you received a reply? I've had my eye on her workouts for many moons and I think I am going to order one.

Hi Beaves, no reply yet, but I saw the Forza The Samurai Sword Workout on Amazon. I'm thinking of getting this but I wish I could see the preview.

Hi Janie,

I thought I'd jump in here and tell you a little about the Samurai workout. I had wanted this workout for a long time, but at $30. it was expensive to spend on a workout I may not like. Recently a friend of mine mentioned that she had bought this a while back, but can't motivate herself to workout at home, so she let me have it.

If you are interested at all in working out with a sword (bukon), definitely get this. It moves at a good enough pace where you can really learn it, and there is a cardio factor in it too. The mistake I made was to buy the wrong type of sword. I should have bought something with a round handle, like they use in the video. I got a great deal with free shipping on ebay for one with a bigger handle, so I bought that instead, and toward the end of the workout, my hands really hurt. I've done this workout twice, and really enjoy it. Both times I have gotten a great upper body workout. The weight of the sword is just enough to leave me feeling as though I did a strength training video. I will say though, the quality of the video is not very good. I love Ilaria, and I think she's always worth every penny, but I am hoping her newer videos will be much better quality.

Feel free to ask any questions.
