Powerstrike or GI Jabb

LAST EDITED ON Apr-20-02 AT 03:07PM (Est)[p]I have both Powerstrike Millenium videos and the three-pack of Katalin's that collage sells. I use and enjoy the Powerstrike more but I'm glad I was able to get both.

Katalin's instructional tape is excellent and fascinating; I really loved learning how the various moves would be used in a real attack situation and the careful perfection of form is great for injury prevention. But the workout seems to me to be a little harder to learn--somehow the beat of the music and the moves just weren't fitting together quite right for me, though admittedly no one on the video seemed to be having the same trouble.

Powerstrike is a more advanced (intensity) workout. When I previewed it I thought I might have trouble learning some of the combinations, but it turned out to really flow together easily because of the logical teaching and good cueing. The instructors give good form pointers, modifications, and encouragement, and have a fun and humorous rapport that increases the fun factor.

I guess I think that if you're new to kickboxing it might be smart to start with Katalin, but if you've had a bit of experience and are wanting a tougher workout, go Powerstrike. --Karen (PS--Please note though that Katalin does offer more advanced videos than what I have of hers; I can't of course speak for those.)

Thanks for the response. I am trying to limit the video buying spree since hearing that Gilad's Quick Fit toning will be on DVD in six weeks... yet I want/need a new cardio workout and am experienced with kickboxing but was curious about the two workouts. Thanks again. I think I'll probably try Powerstrike...
