Powerstrike Millenium

I LOVE Kickboxing and love Cathe's Cardio Kicks (although I do not like the nonkickboxing portion of this dvd), and also love CTX Kickbox. I was looking for other kickboxing dvds and I had read a thread about the Powerstrike Millenium series. I ordered Powerstrike Millenium 3 and, having been an advanced exerciser just coming back (3 weeks back) from having taken 6-7 months off, this dvd was JUST what I needed!! WOW!!!! I LOVE it and it has now taken place of Taebo and Cathe as my FAVORITE kickboxing dvd. As a result, I've ordered Powerstrike Millenium 1 & 2 as well. I have spent far more than I should on dvd's lately. I bought Billy's Bootcamp (always have been a Taebo fan, but still do not have the bands which are backordered, and am waiting for those, I did the workout without the bands and it seemed pointelss). I also have ordered: The Bar Method AND QF Kickboxing AND Tamilee Webb's IWTB.

ugh!! HELP!! I'm buying and I can't seem to stop!! The next purchase I want to make is KICK MAX and the KICK PUNCH CRUNCH dvd. I love having the variety and nothing motivates me more than a new dvd!!!!:)

I really like KPC...and tae bo. My friend bought on of those wave freestanding kickboxing bags, and it is so much more fun using that. They are about $100-$150 at sporting goods stores or Karate supply stores. I think it adds a lot to it. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work!

I would love to try to do the workouts with a kickboxing bag, but I have such limited workout space as it is. ONE DAY I would love to turn our basement into a workout area!! I would love to have more space. As it is, a lot of the Cathe dvd's I have to modify for space reasons.

If space is an issue, I saw an inflatable bag at target, you put water in the bottome half, and it comes with tae bo contact 1 & 2 for about $25.....I have not used it, but it is a Billy Blanks product, so it may be good.I really thought about buying it, but decided not to since I go to my friends house to do kickboxing on her bag every weekend. You could take it down when you needed to and put it away. I dont have alot of space either....my 3 boys take up most of my space! LOL

Where did you buy your powerstrike millenium dvd's? I have been reading some other reviews on them and they sound good. Does anyplace have video clips to watch before you buy?

KPC and kickmax are great.I love kickboxing too. If you want to try Janis Saffell workouts my favorites are kickboxing strike zone and the hardcore kickbox circuit.

I did Powerstrike Millenium 3 three times last week with weights done on the off days. I lost 1/2 inch in my waist and 1" just below my chest.

I've already ordered 1&2 and can't wait to get them! Let me know what you think once you've done the workout. I really enjoy it. Always makes me feel strong when I have done this one. I have to say though, I have realized that nothing makes me sweat as much as Taebo Advanced Live 3. I do worry with Billy Blanks though that he often does things at such lightening speed that I'm afraid I will injure myself. I feel that Powerstrike pay much more attention to form.

I am still walking it out at least once during PS3, but that is a huge improvement from walking it out 3-4 times. I'm just getting back into exercising, so I have to give myself a bit of a break. I forgot how long it can take to build back up the endurance.

Have fun with PS3 and let me know what you think!!!

I bought Powerstrike Millenium 3 on DVD from Powerstrike.com. Does any one know if Powerstrike Millenium 1 and 2 can be purchased on DVD? I don't have a VHS player, so I buy all of my workouts on DVD format.

No, unfortunately, M3 was the only one they came out with on DVD (and it's less intense than M1 and M2---and their previous workouts as well). I think that might have given them a wrong impression of the saleability of PS on DVD, because they put the least intense (longer warm-up, more gradual building in intensity) workout on DVD, and lower sales of it might not have reflected the desire for DVD vs. video, but the lower desire for a less intense workout from PS. I do like the workout, though.

Is this chorographed kickboxing with combos or is it more drill oriented like Tae Bo?

Also, is the pace fast or is it just fast enough to get you going?

3rd and last question...what kind of music is being played in the 3 different different series? Is it techno, typical aerobics music, or is it mainstream top 40's type music??

Thanks!

It is a series of combos that are built up. All kickboxing, no "cardio fillers."

It is fast-paced, but not the "double time" pace of some Tae Bo (which I find too fast).

The music is the same in the three workouts (and not as good as the original PowerStrike music, which you can get on CD from www.musclemixesmusic.com --I use it a lot when doing Slim Series with the "music off" option). I'd say it's techno, not mainstream top 40 (thank goodness!). The music does repeat itself within the owrkouts as well, which I don't think is well done. But you may not even notice it if you get into the workout.

Darn....I just bought the DVD, as I read good things on this board. I was looking for a "tough" kickbox DVD and now I'm bummed cuz I'm broke. When I get it, if they'll exchange it, which one is longer and harder?

You can buy the powerstrike millemium workouts in homeworkout.com too. Only there is one of the three PSM in DVD.

Actually, there are about a dozen PS workouts that were made. All are in video except M3, and except for the last 3, you'd have to find them used because they are no longer in print. Those workouts were tougher than the Milleniums, though the production values were often quite horrid (the oldest ones look like someone's 10-year-old brother got a video camera for his birthday and is just trying it out. I have the very first PS video, and it almost makes me dizzy. But the workout itself is fabulous!)
