Power Max? No problem! Step Blast? Darn near kills m...

So, I'm new to Step Blast (and loving it now that I have the combos all pretty much down). So, here's my question. Why can I do all of Power Max without any trouble, but I have to stop and march and walk in place during the challenge and blast sections of Step Blast? Is it really so much tougher? Or maybe it will just take time for my body to get more "used to" the moves? I felt like I was in pretty great shape, but after Step Blast, I defintely see that I've got a ways to go. I was going to order Imax 2, but if I can't make it through Step Blast yet, maybe that purchase should be put on hold. What do you guys think? Is a new workout always harder cardiovascularly than those you are used to?
Incidentally, I love this workout! I am so happy I purchased this DVD--especially the premixes. The premixes have allowed me to learn it slowly before building up to the entire workout. Any input is greatly appreciated!:)

Power Max is more of a steady state workout whereas Step Blast has the intervals in the Challenge. The Step Blast Challenge has a lot of high impact moves such as plyo, airborne and tuck jumps, turning power squats, etc. I would still get IMAX 2. It is the easiest of the IMAXes and it will help you with your endurance. The intervals in IMAX 2 don't have too many high impact moves but Interval 9 definitely is tough. It has straddle hops down the step and plie jacks. The blast sections of Step Blast are tough but just keep at it. It will get easier. I think until your body gets used to the moves it might take a little longer to be able to get through it all. It took me a few months before I was able to get through all the plie jacks in IMAX 3.

Imax 2 is great. I definatly struggled through some of the workouts to develope strength and endurance. And, continue to do so! Just modify when you feel like your at your limit. The whole point of the interval thing is to push to that limit. If you were already able to do the whole thing through than you'd be ready for something else. Don't let yourself get discouraged.
