Power Hour vs. Wedding

hello all. Which is the better video choice for beginning weight lifting with Cathe? I have used Firm tapes in the past, but plan to switch to all Cathe. Thanks in advance!
Dawn

Hi! I used to do the firms and then got introduced to Cathe's videos. I started with the wedding video and it wasn't long before I moved on to all the rest. Power Hour is a fabulous workout! You may need to play with the amount of weight you use at first, and/or reps you finish. I don't know how hard you work at increasing your weights. I must admit I loved the Wedding video when I first started with Cathe, and I still have it, but seldom do it, as Power Hour, Body Max and others are more challenging for me now.

It all depends on how hard you plan to work. No matter what Cathe video you choose, though, you cannot go wrong!

Happy buying,
Lynn

Since you've done the Firm in the past you're not a total beginner so PowerHour would probably be a better choice than the Wedding Video.

Thanks! In that same line of questioning, what do you think about my next set for cardio? I will order 4 tapes, and get the 5th free because it's such a good deal. I was thinking Imax for one, Power Hour, but I am unsure of what other cardios etc.

Hi Dawn:

Please note that Power Hour has no cardio in it. It's pure endurance weight-training. The Wedding tape has both cardio and weights (or so I've heard -- I haven't got it).

As far a "pure" cardio's go, here are my top faves:

Step (I'm putting them in at level of intensity)
1. MIC - Hi/Lo and Step (intensity-wise it runs neck to neck with Imax, but with Imax you get rests).
2. Imax -- as you just mentioned
3. StepWorks
4. Power Max
5. Step Fit

Kickboxing -- Cardio Kicks, of course!

Cardio/Weight Combo's
1. Body Max
2. CTX Series with exception of Leaner Legs which is just weights
3 Circuit Max which really is more a cardio with "lightish" weights thrown in.

That's all I can think of.

Have a good'un!

Patricia

In my humble opinion I'd get Power Hour b/c it's so much fun and definitely Interval Max and Cardio Kicks for intense cardio. I'd also have to recommend Maximum Intensity Strength for more of a strength oriented weight training tape and last but not least a pure step tape of which there are many. If you're new to Cathe's choreography and have two left feet, I'd suggest Mega Step Blast or Step Max for starters. Next notch up would be Power Max, Step Fit, Step Jam and Step Works. In my opinion, Rhythmic Step was hardest to learn and is a bit dancier than Cathe's other step tapes. The cardio from her CTX series while great in intensity and of shorter length for a quicker workout doesnt break down the moves and I dont think is a great starter Cathe b/c for me it was a bit frustrating to learn having not had much Cathe background.

Hope that helps,

Stacy
