Power Hour Question

Hi Everyone!

I am currently on my second week of a Power Hour rotation (2x per week for 4 weeks). When I did the workout last week, I increased the weights I was using for triceps. I felt challenged while doing the workout and could not complete every rep. The next day I did not feel any muscle soreness. So last night when I did the triceps section, I lowered the weight back to what I used before. It didnt feel as challenging until the very end, but I was able to complete every rep. Today my tris are so sore!!! So, my question is did anyone ever experience this with an endurance type workout? I am thinking it was a matter of keeping good form with a lighter weight to get the best workout, not using the heaviest weight.

Thanks for any comments!

It could be a number of factors. I find that if I don't drink enough water the day of or the day after a gruling workout, I am much more sore. If I don't stretch properly after a workout, I am more sore the next day also. But like you said, it could be that when you went lighter, you were able to use better form and you completed all of the reps. I find that sometimes if I really struggle with a heavy weight, I will lighten the load a bit and then I can really focus on getting a maximum contraction. Have fun!
