For the upper body workouts, you just need dumbbells (I substituted heavy pullovers and one-arm rows for the pull-ups when I started). The back workouts ALL include pull-ups and chin-ups, but if you don't have a bar or don't want one, you can sub the dumbbell exercises, or get a heavy band and do pulldowns (the heaviest set that BB offers) and a door attachment from
www.sissel-online.com ---the one that comes with the kit BB offers did not seem safe enough to me to be able to wedge it between the door and the sill on the top).
Also, if you happen to have a lat pulldown device (like a Soloflex), you can use that instead of pull-ups/chin-ups).
FYI: "Ab Ripper X" is included on all the weight workouts, so don't buy that DVD in addition to the others.
