Poundage on ankle weights?

My BB DVDs are due in this Monday and I know ankle weights are used . What is the recommended poundage used on the new workouts?
I have to dig out my old Firm ankle weights from the garage and want to know how much to use as I have not used these things in years when I used to workout to the old firm tapes.

I haven't received my DVD's yet but I have read in other threads that Cathe & crew use 2lb ankle weights. I have also seen threads where people have used more than Cathe, such as 5lb ankle weights.

Personally, I bought adjustable ankle weights that go from 1/2lb to 10lb at Sports Authority. Can't imagine using that much weight but a girl's gotta be prepared :D
 
Cathe uses 2lb weights. That's what I've been using and it's good for now. By the time you get to that portion of the workout your legs are pretty fatigued! I haven't used ankle weights in years and it's a nice change!
 
I used 3# ankle weights the first time I did it (my old Firm ones too - LOL!!), and the next time I was able to use the 5# ones without a problem.

Like the other posts, I beleive it is 2 lbs. I hadn't used ankle weights for awhile so I didn't have any idea what weight the ones I was using were?...I figured 2.5 or 3.5. So I decided to splurge and buy some adjustable ones, they go from 1 to 5 lbs. I have small half lb weights too, so I can increase (did I say that?) by half a lb at a time. You are going to love the Boby Blast workouts!! :) Carole
 
For hamstring curl or "shoot out" exercises (on all fours, then shoot leg out to parallel), I sometimes will use 5# (in other workouts, I haven't gotten L&G yet. For inner thigh lifts and outer thigh lifts, I think it's safer on the knee to actually put the weight above the knee, on the inner or outer thigh, with a light weight (2#) on the ankle. Using heavier ankle weights for these kinds of exercises can put to much unnecessary stress on the knee joint.
