Postpartum check in week of Feb. 29

Hi,
I figured I would start the week's post as a procrastinate cleaning. My parents are coming to visit with their 2 dogs, so i guess the house doesn't need to be that clean. Alexis weighed in at 12.4 at breastfeeding group yesterday, she once again is the smallest in the group including a 6 week old baby. Alexis sits on my lap, talking as I type.

sunday-Rythmic step plus PS abs (ps bba)
Monday-legs and glutes extreme-standing
Tues-Timesaver upper and core combined-repeated upper twice
wed-Timesaver day 5 +hi/lo heaven 1st seg.
Thurs-Imax 1 +abs(can't remember which)
Friday-off
Saturday-PUB/PLB-bonus routine +PLB stability balls and bodymax shoulders ,triceps and abs (the parts i felt lacking in lacking in bonus pyramid
 
Hey ladies! This week was a tough one. I shouldn't have expressed my joy of Justin's 5-hr stretches of sleep at night b/c they ended as soon as I posted them. ;-) Justin's finishing up on his 6-week growing spurt. Hopefully the 5-hr stretches will continue now that he is officiall 7 weeks old!!! ;-) He's growing so much. I have no idea how much he weighs now, somethin like 30-40lbs I'm sure. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Got the green light from ob/gyn to begin exercising. ;-) So, I think I will do a rotation. I found one that I liked-- I've been printing them off and keeping them in a binder. I've never done a rotation before. I"m determined to get rid of the sponginess around my core. I have 2 full weeks left before I have to go back to work (my boss is going on vacation, then I get another 3 weeks off).

Enough babbling, here's my week:

Sun:eek:ff
Mon: Power Circuit
Tues: Step Intervals
Wed: All Step (8"plateform)
Thurs: 10-10-10 (8"plateform)
Fri: KPC (this is the workout that I did the day I delivered Justin!!)
Sat: PP & LG (skipped cooldown on PP & warm-up on LG)

Shopaholic, I haven't even begun to explore all the combos that are on BB & II. You listed some real interesting ones. Timesaver upper & core sound good, as does PUB/PLB bonus. I'll have to check these out in the near future.

look in the rotation section, last week I did bodyblast premix rotation. This week I am doing intensity series premix rotaion. Check them out.
 
I have been looking over there-- there's some real innovative people over there. Are you doing one for next week?

Hi,Last week was bodyblast premix, although I made some changes. this week I am doing the intensity premix rotation starting with PU/PL bonus combo. I am not a rotation person but figured i'd try these.
 
Hi you two (and all other PP moms who have not yet arrived). Shopa - you have such interesting workouts, I'll have to check these out. I guess what I really need is the IS on DVD.

I'm trying to get my eating back in order this week and shed more fat. I did really great on the diet for 8 days and then completely crashed. I entered donut heaven (see my will power is not that good melanie!!!). I know why this happened....because I ate my last sesame ball and hadn't made a new batch. Those are my saviours when it comes to wanting a donut. I made more today!!!

My back was out and I was at the chiro every other day last week, but I did do IMAX II on Saturday and Bootcamp this morning (Sunday). The chiro told me not to lift anything above my head, but I think I'll be able to this week, just don't want to hurt that same muscle again (or whatever I did - that is always my weak area).

Anyone else hate bootcamp???? I'm sure this means I should be doing it more often!!! (okay it was kind of fun - in a breathless sort of way :eek: :eek: :eek: ).

Where is Maggie...I hope she is okay - I don't think she checked in last week. Hopefully not sick children....that's what usually zaps my week!!

Briee, I got your pictures. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It's so nice to be able to put a picture to a name. I have to say...people always look much different than I expected them to. I pictured you as a little lady with short dark hair. You don't look short...and you have blonde hair. Too funny. You're just as beautiful as I expected you to be though. ;-)

I've had a trying day. Yesterday I blew up at DH b/c the infant seat base was dislodged & I didn't know how to re-assemble it. I totally blew up and went off on him. I apologized & feel awful...but I'm afraid it'll be a little while before DH forgives me. :-(

On a good note, I did Step Blast today with the challenge. I hadn't done the challenge before. I was really surprised b/c I thought it'd be like Rhytmic Step Challenge-- a compilation of all three segments. Instead, it was more like an interval blast. Too fun! I'm sure I burned lots of calories!!!!

Yes, they were developed from black & white film. I haven't gotten to see Briee's pictures yet. Briee or someone else forward them to [email protected]!

Max started on rice cereal last week, but along with that he stopped sleeping through the night. So I conducted an "experiment" and the days he didn't eat rice, he would sleep through the night... so I have stopped for several days to figure out what to do. I don't think he was allergic, although I'm not positive because he did develop a "zitty" looking diaper rash. Anyone have experience to share on solids feeding? Should I move on to oat cereal instead?

Anyway, I think I am down to 5 pounds above prepregnancy weight. I think I will stop trying to lose weight until I am done breastfeeding or at least until I breastfeed only once or twice per day. Will let the little guy decide when that will be.

Mon- SJ&P/SB cardio circuit premix 60 min.
Tue- PLB + PUB abs
Wed- PUB
Thu- Imax 2 + C&W abs
Fri- SJ&P warmup & step + BC upper & lower body premix
Sat- KP&C


Edited to add: Has anyone gotten their period back?
I have been feeling bloated and very mildly crampy off and on for the past 2 weeks... wondering if my period will be back soon... but I hear it doesn't usually come back until either you are done breastfeeding full time or done breastfeeding altogether.

Sounds like you are doing great weightwise. First, I have not gotten my period back. I asked the nurse who runs the breastfeeding group and she says once the baby moves even more into solids. Second, when I first started Alexis on cereal she was more fussy. Now, I give her a bowl of oatmeal with 2 1/2ounces of formula followed by a jar of baby food, then I nurse her. She is much happier now. As I said though, Alexis hated the rice cereal and prefers oatmeal.

For those who asked...I don't have any new pix of Noah yet...got to get some. Emy....the pictures are just adorable, what a sweetie. I want to see a picture of you too!!!! Elyse I couldn't open the pictures, even dh tried in several different ways. It's making me crazy...I'm sure it's my old computer (we must get another soon). I love to see what you all look like!!

I'm on my second period, but you all know why. When I was nursing I never got my period. I nursed them all for 2 1/2 years and it didn't return until I stopped nursing them. I believe in a 12 year period I had only had 4 periods, kind of neat huh.

Briee, too funny. I was thinking the same thing when I posted how naughty I've been. I'll have to work on being nicer... It's not always so easy when I'm sleep deprived. My ob gave me two thumbs up, that we can get pregnant again any time now (of course I'm breastfeeding so I doubt I'll get pregnant right now). I'll have to be nicer to DH & get my anger under control. :) :)

Melanie....you don't have to explain anything to me. After all I don't have either a Sony DVD player or the IS DVD series.....I'm obviously much more irritable than you..he he }( }( }( I better get my act together huh ;) ;) ;)

Quick question Elyse....what is the Timesaver upper and core combined? Is this your own combination or is it actually a premix choice and where would you find it?

glad you received the pictures. sorry to the rest of you, i also sent you all the latest pictures. Thought you all would want to see Alexis modeling her bikini. The upper body segments and core unfortunately isn't a premix. go to timesaver and go to workout 1 and use the blender to program upper and core segments when this complete you will return to blender , do the same for workouts 2-4.
