Post Workout Muscle Soreness??

Cathlete
So I have been lifting for a few years and I have always noticed that any muscle soreness Im going to feel, Im going to feel it 18-24 hours after the workout... sometimes if I lift REAL heavy Ill start feeling it a little earlier.
So, I have been lifting heavy chest and back for about 15 months, twice a week (since september).
I had no back before so over the summer I started REALLLYY light, 10-12 lb dumbell rows and 25 lb barbell rows.. just to give me some strength to life the heavier wiehgts so I could gain muscle. I have worked up fairly well since the heavy weights in september.
I have never really felt any soreness or tightness or tensions in my back before.
However, I have noticed the mast few weeks that I am feeling a little soreness or tightness -- about two or three days AFTER the workout.
Im wondeirng if this is normal or if it could be form something else (like the bi/tri or shoulder workout in the days that follow?
Also, I have alwyas used some amount of soreness when I drastically switch a routine or went heavier as a measure of success (like passing a milestone-- so I know the workouts are working)-- but I have neverreally felt ANYTHING in my back.. and I have felt something with every other muscle group at some point or another.
Is tis normal?
What are your routines for back-- particularily when you were lifting heavy looking for strength and mass?
I feel i am doing REAL well considering when I really first started building my back in the past few months-- but Im not Cathe yet so I have more to do :)
Do you alternate weeks/days/months with heavy weights and fewer reps or do you do mostly heavy for a while?
I know it's such a huge muscle and I know I have a hard time isolating it.
For example I have a hard time doing double arm DB rowws and the pullovers (they ar einpossible-- I don;t feel it ANYWHERE's)
Any tips would be great!!

DOMS is great but remember that just because you may not get it does not mean that you did not get an effective work out! You really can not judge your work outs by it. We Catheites do tend to thrive on DOMS but that's just cause we are crazy and love to be in pain!}( :p }(

I have to say that pull/chin ups are the BEST exercise for the back in my experience! I NEVER had a developed back until I started doing them.

Just my 2 cents!:)
