Post-traumatic head syndrome?

OK I know I'll probably get flamed again for this, but that's my co-workers diagnosis for getting hit in the head by an errant paper towel dispenser lid. I swear, it's on a doctor's note. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. :+ She's out for at least 6 weeks, maybe more.

Now I'd like to say this falls under the category of "you can't make this stuff up," but I looked it up on WebMD & couldn't find anything. I'm sure it's not the ultimate medical guide, but it's been pretty useful in the past.

I told my friend who works in insurance about this & she got a good laugh but said she's heard much worse. She told me about some guy who's suing the state for forcing him to pee in a cup b/c he has "shy bladder disorder" and it was emotionally traumatic for him. Of course the real reason he was refusing to pee in a cup was b/c his drug test came back positive. ;)

BTW, I did find shy bladder disorder on WebMD. So I learned something new today.

You know, my cat scratched my hand the other day. I think I may have post-traumatic cat scratch syndrome. Or was it cat bite fever?

>Post-traumatic HEAD syndrome...? Oh, man, I could take this
>places you probably don't want it to go }(

ROTFLMAO!!!!!

Take it & run with it Shelley. I can always use a good chuckle.........just keep it clean. Remember there are children in the audience. ;-)

Yeah, there's an organization. It would be great to be in the same place they are having their convention--you'd never have to wait in line for a bathroom!

Paruresis also known as pee shyness, shy kidney, bashful bladder, or shy bladder syndrome is a type of social anxiety disorder, that can affect both men and women, in which the sufferer is unable to urinate in the (real or imaginary) presence of others, such as in a public restroom. The analogous condition that affects bowel movement is called parcopresis.

PEE SHYNESS!!!!

I guess parcopresis is also known as "SH*T SHYNESS.

This person strikes me as having issues related to malingering, upon first impression. Who knows what else. Traumatic "head" syndrome. Uh-huh.

LOL .. Lauramax .. you GOTTA write this crap down .. I see a best seller in your future!!!:D :7

There is a real diagnosis as Posttraumatic brain syndrome related to concussions. AKA postconcussion syndrome

Here's a link. http://www.headinjury.com/faqpcs.htm

the article states it is caused by "actual physical damage". I'm not a doctor, but did this lady really have actual damage? If so what kind of paper towel holder does your office have, ones with the whole tree still in them?

Wonder if she looked this up before she got hit in the head, so she would know what to tell the doctors.

OMG you guys are totally cracking me up! She's been out on WC quite often so I'm sure she has a veritable armory of physical conditions with no physical manifestations to use.

They're cheap, plastic paper towel holders. And she wasn't diagnosed w/a concussion so I don't know how on earth she could have a concussion-related injury.

But good to know there's a similar condition, but the note literally says "post traumatic head syndrome." No mention of the brain. Not even gonna speculate on that one.......}(

Well, perhaps in order to get the doctor's note, she had to *ahem* offer certain favours. Maybe that's where the "head" part comes in?

Oh, I'm so gonna get in trouble for that!

  :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

What is wrong with all of us today...I swear I've been laughing out loud at this board all day!!!!!!!!!

Is it me, or does this  look like a blow-up doll? It's Shelley's fault for getting my mind in the gutter;) }( }(
