post partum check in/week of Jan 11

Cathlete
Hi everyone--

Hope ya'll are well. I feel like I haven't been here in a while. We've been very, very busy. Bardric had his 4 month checkup and his weight has really slowed down. He is 17 lbs 8 oz, which is still big, except that he has been this weight for around a month. The doc is not worried, though. I am a little. I mean why would it slow so significantly? Anyway, he is much more active, so maybe he is burning more calories. He rolls over front to back and then tries to get on his knees. He also grabs anything that he can and holds on tight (like sisters hair}( ).

I am now 2.5 lbs away from my pre preggo weight (but still well over goal), so I can finally fit comfortably into some different clothes:7 :7.

My workout week:
Sun 11 Step Fit
Mon 12 PS BBA
Tues 13 Rest
Wed 14 IMAX II--knee feeling much better-hurray
Thurs 15 PSLA
Fri 16 All Step/Step and Intervals (cardio Only on both)
Sat 17 PS CST

Shopaholic--how was the naming ceremony?
Emy--how is Max?
Anyone else? Briee--I noticed that you are back--I missed you and can't wait to here an update. Melanie--any day now:7

take care
Maggie

Hey Maggie, I can't believe Bardric is rolling over already. Max, at 4 1/2 months, isn't even showing indications of attempting that yet. In fact, when I put him on his stomach, he can barely raise his head (he doesn't like it much either). Oh, and he has been sleeping with me a little since he's been sick with a cold, and there is hardly room in the bed for him. We are afraid we will squish him sometimes. You must have a king size to fit Bardric - we only have a queen. (Would like to upgrade sometime, though!)

Mon- stuck at my parents due to thick fog, had to spend the night and didn't have any of my videos! :(
Tue- KP&C
Wed- Circuit Max + Power Hour
Thu- Step Works + CTX Step & Intervals (cardio & intervals only)
Fri- Boot Camp
Sat- ME + CTX Kickbox (cardio & drills only)

Are you doing Cathe's January rotation? Your workout looks like a variation on the 3rd week of the rotation.

Shopaholic, how are you doing and how was your trip? Melanie, still hanging in there?

Hi,
We are back. Alexis did well on the trip. We had a 5 hour trip from our home on the cape to long island. on the way down we stopped and nursed Alexis twice, today on the way home only once . She mostly slept in the car. She was pretty good at the baby naming crying a little but excellent at the refreshment part after the service. My 9 year old niece loved her and my sister jokingly put the baby in her suitcase. Alexis had her 4 month check up last week , weighing in at 10.7 and measuring 23 inches. Still in the 5% for height/weight but just small. Maybe Bardric's growth slowed down since he grew so quickly in the beginning? Alexis hadn't rolled over but actually rolled over in the doctor's office. I am still hoping someone can foward a picture of Alexis to Melanie. Maggie, that is fantastic, only 2.5 pounds to go.

Workout week:
Thanks for posting intensity rotation Emy, but I ended up doing a intensity/body blast rotation.

Thurs-push/pull lower body 2 sets from cardio premis from step blast combo2,3 plus challenge
Friday-Karen Voight power packed aerobics, no time for abs
Sat-Christi taylor-cia 9801-hi/lo

Emy, what a great workout week, I wish I had the time to do the January challenge.

Hi Ladies:)

Emy--Don't worry about Max and the rolling thing. All my kiddos were faster with gross motor skills than with verbal stuff, where they developed much more slowly. The "normal" ones didn't really speak until they were 2(but believe me, they made up for it later) and our little downs guy really does not communicate with words much at all at even at 2 1/2. My friend has a 7 mo old who does not roll, but is trying to get on her hands and feet--go figure. Anyway--my point is that they all develop differently and most of the time it is in the range of perfectly normal.

No I am not doing Cathe's January rotation. It is purely accidental that those weeks looked the same;). It looked like fun, but way too intense for me, atleast right now. I always print them out, though and put them in my file, for reference and ideas.

Shopaholic--glad the trip went well. So Alexis is what Mr. B weighed when he was born. Another friend has a 7 week old who is around 10-10.5 lbs and we put them side by side and so now I have a good idea of what Alexis and Bardric would look like next to one another, also of how much he has grown. It was pretty cute.

I will try to forward the pic of Alexis to Melanie, but I will have to get my husband to show me how. I now know how to send an attachment, but to forward something is new to me, although I am sure it is a rather simple process.

Melanie? You having that baby now? Hanging in there? Doing well?

Maggie

Maggie, Max is 18 pounds now fully clothed. He is a chunk! Even with his cold and all this past week, nothing's holding him back. He is really long too, I need to measure him. We're hoping he'll be a professional athlete, so he can buy us a nice estate to retire in! I'm probably the only one around here who isn't taking my babe to the doctor to all the well-baby visits. So my weights and measurements are more of the home scale and tape measure variety. (I'm a raising your child despite your doctor type of person).

Shopaholic, Way to break out the old Christi Taylor hi/lo! I love her floor aerobics, and that is actually one of her most choreographically challenging routines, in my opinion. Do you have her Solid Gold Cardio from last year? I haven't purchased it yet, and wanted to know if it is good. Looks like you had a good workout week. Oh, and I forwarded the picture to Melanie last week. Hopefully she got it.

How are you doing Melanie??

Thanks for fowarding the picture to melanie, Emy. Hopefully melanie will be joining our check ins soon. I am waiting for my mother to send me more pictures. One good thing about travel is it forces me to use my hi/lo workouts. Even if i wanted to bring my step, there was no room in the car. For the most part I got cgristi's choreography on 9801. I still trouble with her stepwork though. I own fantastic four but am waiting to watch and learn the step moves before trying. i really like hi/lo heaven. I also own happy hour.
