Happy new Years to everone. Alexis continues to snack all day but most nights is sleeping through the night. She is still in most of her 0-3 month clothes but did outgrow a few. She is now starting to roll on her side and loves her classical choir gym and the activity center on her bouncy seat. She also has become more talkative and having whole conversations(ok so its mostly agoo). Most of my old clothes fit just a little tighter. I probably only have a few pounds to go, but my scale is not the most accurate.

Workout week:
Sunday-rest(travel day)
Monday-power hour
Tues-step/pump/jump-cardio only-hi/lo and step+abs from spj
Wed-Firm calorie killer +firm upper body sculpt+Gilad-shoulders arms
Thurs-push pull-lower body 3 sets +cardio from bootcamp
Friday-First 4 1/2 sections of rock steady step then went into choreography overload and gave up and did bodymax-step only followed by bodymax abs
Sat-muscle endurance/bootcamp premix

Shopaholic, Looks like you got in a bunch of good workouts this week! Mixing it up really keeps the workouts from getting stale. Your few pounds are probably just strictly, as you say, boob (so funny)!

Well, I'm not TOO upset about having more weight to lose than I thought, as I may have sounded in last weeks thread... and Melanie (only a couple of weeks to go, by the way!) mentioned how could I possibly take my workouts up a notch. But, they haven't been that tough, especially this week. I think they just look tough because of all the premixes and whatnot. Oh, and Melanie asked how much weight did I gain - 40 pounds! Next time around I will be setting my goal for 30. I eat lots of healthy stuff (lots of fruits, vegetables, and beans because I am a vegetarian) but I always have to have my dessert (and not always just one serving)! That is my downfall.

Maggie, How is your knee? I got the pictures of Bardric. What a cutie, not to mention your other kids! Thanks!

Mon- SJ&P/SB weights and step circuit (61 min)
Tue- Push Pull lower body (3 sets)
Wed- Supersets upper body (2 sets)
Thu- KP&C/L&G high step circuit
Fri- Step Blast + PP upper body (1 set)
Sat- SB section 3 & challenge + SJP hi/lo add-on & abs & stretch

I have now officially completed my first rotation ever - this one was for 3 weeks. I'm thinking about starting the Intensity Series/Body Blast rotation this coming week, but am not sure yet.

4-month-old Maxwell is now 17 pounds! And he wants to be carried around as much as ever. I could use him as my barbell for some exercises... squats & lunges with baby!

Emy, sounds like your workouts are still tough. I was going to try cathe's new year's rotation, a real toughie but decided each workout was too long and Alexis may not let me exercise 1.5 hours a day. Besides I am starting back at work, a few hours this week. Poor hubby, Alexis still hates the bottle. I agree mixing up the workouts really helps with motivation, and I own so many videos. This week I am attempting to do what I call oldies but goodies. started today with powermax, a great cathe tape if you can ignore the outdated outfits. My last few pounds are boob weight along with some extra weight on my lower abs. I am trying to crank up my workouts because I am seeing my sister in 2 weeks who hasn't seen me since I was 8 months pregnant. Yeah, sibling rivalry.

Hi everyone!

Well my knee feels much better this week, so I moved back up to a 6" step, but I am still watching the jumping--doing a little more. I was a little worried about doing a rotation based on strength with lower intensity cardio, because I have so much weight to lose, but it has been going well. I have now lost 14 lbs since 2 weeks post partum--slowed a bit during the holidays--too much yummy stuff:9. And I have found that depriving myself totally of the things I like, tends to backfire, so moderation, moderation--my eating is back on track, but right now I am craving chocolate--just finised PS SLA and the floor work KILLS me:p.

Emy--glad you got the pictures, somehow it took them a while to go through. Boob has to be some of the weight--I agree with Shopaholic, because normally my bust is much smaller, but nursing makes me more of an hourglass. I actually like this affect, but it must add some poundage. I wish there was a way to just weight the boobs to see....

I need to weigh Bardric, but he has his 4 mo checkup coming up this week, so I might just wait for their more accurate scales. He is a monster, but sooo sweet. He talks (mostly agoo like Alexis:) ) and smiles and rolls back to front and then gets stuck. He startles really easily, which our others did not do. He sleeps fairly well at night, but does wake up to nurse a few times.

Looks like you both had a great work out week--
Here's mine--a bit less intense, but I have been sore!!

Mon 29-PS BBA,20 min stationary bike
Tues 30-Power Max-the thongs are funny, I agree, but I love this one
Wed 31-PS SLA
Thurs 1-REST
Fri 2-PS CST, 20 min stationary bike
Sat 3-Step Works
Sun 4-PS SLA

I have 2 1/2 weeks of my Pure Strength "recovery" rotation left. Then I am not sure. I am toying with several ideas.:)

take care everyone
Maggie

Maggie, I am glad your knee is feeling better. I bet increasing the weight work actually sped up your weight loss. Your workout week last week looks similar to my plan for this week. If only we could weigh our boobs! How much is Bardric actually sleeping? Alexis has made it most nights from about 8:30-5 am but takes only about 2-3 20 min. naps during the day. Last night she did awake at 3:30 am to eat but I think this because she napped yesterday from 6-8 which is the time she usually eats the most.

"I wish there was a way to just weight the boobs to see...."

Maggie, I had a good chuckle while I was reading this line!
...and then I scrolled down to see yours, shopaholic:

"If only we could weigh our boobs!"

HA HA!

I have this idea of laying on the floor and hoisting a boob onto the scale:p but somehow I don't think it would work....

Bardric sleeps more during the day than Alexis. He wakes to nurse 3-4 times during the night, but I just latch him on and we both go back to sleep. The bummer is that he is no longer sleeping through my workouts in the swing, at least on a regular basis. He wakes up and howls and I let him, because this is the one time during the day I need. I'm here to serve for 23 hours, but barring emergencies, the hour I work out is mine. Oh it is hard to listen to him howl, though...

I can even type with one hand and nurse--like right now!:7

take care,
Maggie, who must have humor in regular doses

Maggie, How much does Bardric end up sleeping with you at night? I can't believe he still wakes up so much. Good thing you are so adept at nursing laying down.

I understand completely about the workouts. I feel that is the one chunk of time every day that I need to be selfish with. I get so nervous before my workout, however. I rush around to make sure that all of the exercise equipment that I need is out and arranged and ready to go. Then I have to get Max "prepped" so that he's happy and ready to rest or play on his own so I can get my workout done all in one chunk. I don't feel like I've had as good of a workout when I have to continually stop and restart. It is hard to listen to your baby howl!

Oh, I finally have a picture of Max to email. Whoever would like to see it, let me know!

Emy, i'd love to see a picture of your son. Email [email protected].
I am so glad to here that i am not the only one who lets their baby scream so i can work out. since alexis snacks so often, i do take breaks during workouts to nurse her if she is hysterical, but once she is changed and nursed if she cries so be it. She was doing great in her swing for a while, but doesn't like it anymore. I now workout with her in her bouncy seat which has an activity center she loves. She also likes to watch the tv so watching cathe often entertains her. Yesterday, she stared at me while i was doing KPJ abs on the ball, as if to say what on earth are you doing mom? See how thin my abs are and all i do is exercise in my gymnee. I am suprised that Bardric is awakening so much at night. For the past 2 nights Alexis decided to awake at 3:30 to be nursed and then she stayed awake in her crib talking to herself til after 5 am, needless to say, I kept thinking she'd cry and stayed awake. The princess was so tired though that she slept from 9-11:30 this am allowing me to workout. mkaggie, let me know if you successfully weigh those boobs, what a sight that would make.

Emy-I would love a picture of Max [email protected]

We have done the family bed thing with all of our babies. They all wean out of our bed eventually and go to sleeping on their successfully. The one exception was our downs baby, who was attatched to a special feeding system at night, which made the family bed thing difficult once he got wiggly because of all the tubes and tape, etc. Anyway--its not for everyone, but it works for us:). The obvious unasked question that folks always have regards marital intimacy--we just move sleeping warm just fed baby to a crib and, well I hope that isn't too much information...

take care
Maggie

Okay, I"m envious now. How do I get a picture? ;) I"d like to see a picture of all your babies!!

Melanie--if you want a pic of Bardric, just post your e mail address and I will attempt to send you one. (For some reason things aren't being sent from our out box in a timely fashion, but somehow after numerous error notifications they do get sent.) I am sure Emy and Shopaholic will send you pictures, also. I asked my husband about posting pictures at one of those picture sites, but he is not comfortable about the kid's pictures being on line, so I have to e mail them.

Emy-Max is a cutie. I love those cheeks. What a sweet little man. Thanks for the picture.

take care
Maggie

Here's my e-mail address: [email protected] I can't wait to see pictures of all your precious gems!!
