Portion Size question

How do you measure a cup of lettuce?
I've read that a portion of raw veggies is 1 cup. Regarding lettuce, in particular, 1 cup could mean 3 leaves! Would the correct measurement be a cup of cut-up, tightly packed lettuce, or loosely packed?

The calorie count on lettuce is so low, I just use however much I want. I consider it to be a free food.

I agree with Liane: lettuce is mainly water, so don't bother to measure it, just take handfuls and be done.
