Popcorn & Clean Eating

I would think so. I made it that way - I just put enough oil in the bottom of the pan to coat it and keep the kernels from sticking, and didn't use a lot of salt. The olive oil gave it a nice flavor without making it greasy. Watch the salt so you won't get high blood pressure! :D

I have tried this before and it doesn't work! It was so gross... and I love popcorn and olive oil! I just learned that they are no good together. :)

If you didn't want any more fat and still wanted something to eat, then hot air poporn works real well.

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

An easy way I've found is to just take a brown paper lunch bag and measure out about two tablespoons or so of kernels (that's about 1-2 servings) fold it over and stick it in the microwave. I usually very lightly salt it and spray a tiny bit of olive oil on it and it's wonderful. I don't even really mind it plain, if it's just for me, but DH likes the extra bit of flavor.

Brown paper bag kids will like this.

Grapeseed Oil is another alternative and not as "heavy tasting" as olive oil. I have read about the paperbag trick and popcorn as well.

I'd just go all out and make it with coconut oil. In spite of a previous bad rep because it's a naturally saturated oil, coconut oil is stable at high heat, whereas other oils are denatured by heating (and popcorn made in olive oil tastes yukky!), creating transfats.

(Coconut oil also makes great-tasting popcorn!).

I have been buying Jollytime's 100 calorie light popcorn and will split the bag with my son for an after dinner snack. It's actually quite tastey for lite popcorn. DH even likes it.

Clean? Who knows but it's such an insignificant amount of ANYTHING even when I eat an entire bag myself that I am not going to worry about it. :)

I can't stand plain popcorn so that's not an option for me....I think I'd rather eat cardboard. :p
