Plyo Legs - Busted by Cathe

I thought this was funny and wanted to share.
So I'm on Meso 3 and last week I did my first plyo leg routine.
Very tough tape. So a friend was doing it with me. Half way through...he was like "pause it..I'm dying. Can't she give you a minute break".
So I paused for him (the break was nice for me too) when I started the DVD again Cathe says something like " hope you are not pausing at home. This workout is more effective if you do it all the way through without stopping". The one time I paused I was busted by Cathe.
Maybe you had to be there but it was so funny. I was sweating , breathing hard and laughing. I thought my goodness the woman knew people would be pausing at that one point.
Tough DVD.....but I absolutely love the STS series.
Already preordered STS Cardio and I know it will be worth the wait.
Have a good day.

I know the part you're referring to, because I did the same thing. The 30 second breaks were just too short for me (unless I really wanted to pass out - some of that stuff made me dizzy). Needless to say, I had a very sassy answer for that question!

planning to do squat rack, but

now you have me curious about the plyo. I might have to try them out in addition to the squat rack or during the last two weeks of Meso 2.

Thanks for the headsup. I'll have to mentally prepare for that DVD.

All the best,

Michele

LOL!!
I can totally relate!
I had the same experience my first time with STS plyo.:D I didn't pause the dvd, but I was thinking about it as I was hanging over a chair gasping for air. I thought it was hilarious(after I caught my breath)!
You just KNOW you are in trouble when you hear Cathe gasping!

I LOVE the plyo workouts! I worked them into my 8 week rotation of meso one. I'm struggling with adding another leg day in meso 2. I think part of it may be I'm taking some time to learn Cathe's step routines. The higher impact is keeping me from adding another leg day.

It's like Cathe is watching you **insert twilight zone music** Seriously, sometimes I think how in the world did she know I was thinking that :p

Cathe often busts me...

But mostly on form pointers ("make sure you don't XYZ," and of course I'm doing XYZ...)

She's really making me laugh in STS, which is a very good thing because I'm working so hard!

LOL!
Yes, she's watching.;)
I hope she's not looking when I'm eating chocolate:eek:
I talk to her almost every morning. This morning, she kept asking me for more reps. I told her, "That's all I can do Cathe!" She gets a little pushy sometimes:D

You guys have me real nervous, I am scheduled to do my first plyo workout on Wednesday this week. Somehow Cathe seems to just know what we are thinking!

I was feeling very energetic yesterday, so I did the scrambled cardio from Drill Max, followed by the plyo #2 segment from STS. Holy Cow!! Talk about HIIT.

LOL!!! that is hysterical. cuz, boy, i was sure thinkin' about pausing. i'm doing the 2nd plyo legs tomorrow, and i'll probably be thinkin' about it again. :)

WOW jan, you must have had tons of energy. DM is bad enough. is plyo legs considered cardio too? it sure feels like it, for sure.

I remember I moaned and right after that Cathe said "Quit your moanin." I was thinking how in the heck?????

That is to funny!! She busts me all the time..I think did she insert a camera into this DVD? Can she see me? LOL keeps me honest :) but now I am scared of meso 3, I am on meso 2 week 2.

OMG me too!

today was my first Meso 3 plyo. And this was EXACTLY where I paused it. After squat jumps or some such torture device. I would have LOL'd if I had the breath.

In fact I had to pause twice more. Once when I thought I was going to throw up and once when I thought I might pass out.

And I'm thinking... we PAID for this! :p

busted too!

This happened to me too, except I was about to pause the tape when she said it. It must have been that particular exercise was more of a gut check. Anyway, on this week's plyo, I was waiting for the warning again, and wouldn't let myself pause (even though after some cycles, it is tough!)

All those turning power squats make me dizzy! Am I the only one? I can do them in threes or sevens like in other DVDs but I can't do 15 in a row like that....I get dizzy and start losing my balance after about 8 and have to stop. I'm hoping my next time through STS those will be easier for me!

I may have to pull out a plyo workout and do it soon. I haven't done one since I stopped STS way back on week 3 due to injury. I am recuperating and hope to get back into STS in June.

2 discs in my neck were pinching a nerve and I am on the mend but taking it slowly and want to make sure they are better before jumping back into STS as I would like to finish it. amazing how pinched nerves takes away your strength. I had no strength in my left arm/shoulder area. Now I am back to lifting lighter weights as I don't want to push too much too soon.

Ok more info than needed but just wanted to say how the plyo workouts are awesome.

I did the first Plyo Legs workout several days ago and I stuck with the plyo reps as long as I could and often had to shave a few off the end. But I'm no cardio queen so I knew plyo would be the toughest part of STS for me. My body just isn't used to it.

I'm quite sore and really gave it my all and I know all I can do is get better with each plyo workout. Just keep pluggin....
