Please tell me about Cardio Coach!

I have an old treadmill. My mother gave me hers. She bought it from Sears so it's very basic. There's an incline but it's manual so you can't run and incline at the same time. I use it for power walking and interval runs because I don't like to run outside due to bad knees. How are Cardio Coach workouts set up? Could I use those vids on this old treadmill? I'm hoping to run this one to the ground so I can justify asking my DH to buy me a new one some day!;-)

Hi Leslie,

I use CC with my TM and elliptical. I just think Sean is the cats meow! (I hope that I used that expression right) These are CD or Mp3 downloads. I use the DVD player in my workout room because I'm trying to protect my hearing. My dh uses the Ipod (I think that is what you call it (can you tell that I'm fighting technology).

CC is for stationary equipment. I have heard of people using everything to include rebounders, rowers, and bowflex. I know someone who uses a TM like the one you described and she likes it. I know people who use these workouts on outside runs. They are interval workouts but I use the instrumental only tracs for steady state. These workouts have done my legs sexy, ooh la la. Sean is so good to do business with and I enjoy his w/o very much. One more thing, I'm a turtle looking for her inner hare. CC has helped me enjoy running and I am making progress.

Goodluck on your decision,
jordan

Hi, Leslie.
You can definitely use CC on a manual treadmill. CC has steady state modes, hill climbs (you could do the incline for those, or just walk faster) and sprints (you could run on those). It's not so important WHAT you do (sprints vs. climbs, for example), but getting your heart rate into a specific zone, anywhere from 1 (warm-ups) to 4 (anaerobic).

I've used CC on a stabionary bike, on my reboudner, and while doing walk arobic type moves (with tall box climbs/overhead presses for the hill climbs).

Tomorrow is my cardio inteveral day, and I plan to do a CC. I'll proably combine my rebounder (for steady state and sprinte) and Transfirmer climbs (for hill climbs). Or whatever I feel like doing at the time!

I find teh music really motivating, and the workouts fun. I did wonder what I would look at when doing them, though, because I'm such a vidiot! But I ended up watching TV with the sound off and captions on (a Twilight Zone marathon last time) and that worked fine for me.
