Hi everyone!

I hope it is okay for me to post this request on here, but I would really appreciate any help. It's not completely off topic! My DH is a 4th year medical student, and as part of his graduation requirements he is trying to complete a research study. He has made his own website, which has a short questionnaire that he will use to collect some data (don't worry, it is totally anonymous!). There is also a free food and exercise diary, as well as the calorie breakdowns for activities and food. There is also a link to VF (thanks to some gentle prodding from me). Anyway, I guess I should stop gushing, but I am proud of all the work he has put in on this. Here is the link, and thanks in advance to all those who can take 5 minutes to help us out.

Hi, just thought I'd pop in...my husband is also a med student, 2nd year though...a little bit longer for us. Good luck with the study! We actually both grew up in UT, but we're living in St. Louis while he attends Wash U. Hope all goes well with the study and "the PICK"

Hilarie:

I filled it out but I have to say, I found it a very limited questionnaire really. It didn't ask about lots of food groups I eat as a vegetarian, and it missed out all the beverages I usually drink! So from my answers to the questions posed, it looks like I eat and drink hardly anything at all!

Very weird!

Clare

Clare brought up a good point. There was no category for coffee, isn't that a food group? just kidding. But really, there could have been a few more categories like legumes and soy and or soy milk in the beverage section.

Hilarie, my DH and I married when he was MS2. I have some very fond memories of those early years believe it or not, in spite of his lack of sleep. His training was before the laws reguarding how long residents could work came into being. Best of luck to you and your DH along this journey.

Wow, your husband definitely put a lot fo time and energy into this project - I wish him the best of luck.

I filled out the survey but did realize that one problem with asking this question on this forum is that with so many individuals who most likely lead healthy lifestyles-the results may be skewed since individuals on this site are most likely not representative of the entire population. Unfortunately, this is a major disadvantage of a convenience sample. Just thought I'd mention it- and I hope this doesn't sound rude because that is not my intention.:)

I filled it out too, but had the same experience as Clare. My diet is so dang healthy, and mostly vegan, that it seems from the questions that I don't eat anything. But I assure you that I do!

Hi - I did the survey. The only thing that I saw that he may or may not care about was with the milk. It has all the different fat levels of milk, but I no longer drink any and have switched to nonfat soy milk. I put in that I drink 2 servings of skim milk a day because that was the closest option.

It's a nice site and congratulations to your husband for his hard work. Good luck too!
