Someone in my office got chicken fingers for lunch! The odor of the hot sauce is filling the whole department! And here I sit with my stupid half a soynut butter sandwich! I want to jump over the cubicle walls and do a few KPC moves on her so I can wrangle one away. I guess that wouldn't be acceptable behavior from an HR manager, would it? Nuts.

Donna..ROFLMAO! That was a great mental picture! Be strong! The results are worth the pain! x(

Mmmmmm.....egg rolls....my salivary glands are in high gear right now. Thank GOD they don't put those things in the vending machine!

Picturing the grease might turn you away from it.
Funny, they must put some magical, mystical odor molecules in some of that stuff because I'm a vegan , and haven't eaten chicken for over 20 years, and some odors really smell tasty! (Not grilled meat though...barf!).

TOO FUNNY.........I know the feeling. Sorry for laughing but hang in there. If the chicken fingers came from a fast food restaurant, then try thinking about how old that chicken grease in the fryer may be. HTH.

I get my soynut butter in the natural/health food section of Wegmans (one of our grocery chains in NY). I'm sure you could get it from a health food store if your grocery store doesn't do health food. It's really tasty! The crunchy variety has TONS of little crunchies. My 4 year old even likes it! I actually tried to sneak some all natural peanut butter in on her yesterday, but she noticed right away that it wasn't Peter Pan. Nuts! (excuse the pun).

Here's a link to a site with information on the soynut butter brand I buy.

I DID make it through, thank you everyone for your support! (*sniff* I'm so touched). Even when she offered one to me. The evil witch! It's not so much the smell of the chicken that gets me...it's the hot sauce. I'm a hot sauce JUNKIE! I love it!

I was just wondering if someone with a peanut allergy would be able to eat soynut butter. Does it taste much like peanut butter?

Thanks,

I had to laugh when I read your post, this happens here almost every day, but its with cookies and donuts. There isn't a day that goes by that there isn't some sort of sweets sitting on the front desk. I can usually just walk on by, but there are occasions when I have to have a cookie!!! I really hate the temptation, though, its not fair to those of us who really try to control what we eat.

That's why I'm constantly chewing a stick of gum. It goes in right after my morning cup of green tea and I'm chewing all day long...people probably think I'm part camel.:9
