Please Give me your advice!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a lurker for years and this is the first time I am posting. I would really appreciate advice from you ladies as you are so knowledgable.

I had a baby 5 and a half weeks ago, Natural no complications. I lost all the weight but 8 lbs and would like to lose 15 more. I am 5'2 and currently 128lbs. I am not breastfeeding. I do cardio 3-4 times per week for about 30-40 minutes, hiit cardio btw.

I also do full body workouts like me bc hst body max i like to do a full body weight workout.

My question is this... How many calories should I take in???? I am a pretty clean eater. I know what to eat but how many calories. Also what else can I change in my workouts to lose the weight???
Any advise would be wonderful
Have a great day

I'd recommend going to www.sparkpeople.com. You can enter all your stats, including how many calories you burn a week, etc, and they will give a you calorie range. They also have a way of tracking calories, and a whole community for support. It's a great place.

Hi, I am 47 and also 5'2"... I weight 100lbs... I would say this is something ur going to have to feel out. Start dropping ur calorie intake slowly until u start to lose weight, and keep it there till u get to ur desired weight. Then up it until u get to where ur not losing anymore, this works for me....

Darlene, are you nursing? Because if you are, I believe it is ill-advised to restrict calories. Even if you're not, the number of calories to intake is such a personal question, it's difficult to just come up with a number offhand. You might try posting your question over on the fit moms board, because someone there should be able to chime in with their recent experience.

BTW, congratulations on the new little baby!!

My advice is take it easy for now. What you are doing seems ambitious enough. 5 1/2 weeks post partum is not the time to go "gung ho" into any diet and exercise routine. Start incorporating little changes a little at a time. The weight will come off, you'll see. The best thing for you right now is to continue to eat well and REST when you can. If you get too overtired from lack of sleep, taking care of baby, taking care of house, taking care of DH, and stressing over workouts, you'll overeat for energy. Or crash. Take it easy! JMHO.

I'm no expert, but I think you are on the right track and just need to give what you are doing time to take effect. Enjoy that baby, enjoy your workouts, enjoy your food and what sleep you can get.:)

Congratulation on your new blessing!

I would have to agree with Sally:) You have time to lose the weight, don't stress right now about that. It's good to get back into shape but be careful. I actually caused my bladder to prolapse because I started doing medium impact to soon. This is a problem that can't be fixed 100% unless I were to get surgery and at 30 I'm not ready for that yet:) So enjoy your baby and start gung ho in a few more weeks.
