Plant experts? I have a question...

I have a co-worker friend of mine who has a philodendron plant above her desk. It's grown so much, it's out of control. But, the question I have is it's starting to attract those nat bugs. What causes this? Overwatering?

Any way you know of to get rid of them?

We just had this problem in our office too. We had to throw the plant out. I have no idea what causes it. Could you try spraying the dirt with some sort of insecticidal soap?
 
OO OO OO!!! I know this one! *raises hand and jumps up and down enthusiastically* ;)

There's a spray stuff that's made from chrysanthemums - so it's natural and non-toxic to humans - but it kills those little bugs really well. Just spray it on the plant every day til the bugs are gone.
