Ok well my first injury. I know I did it during plyo legs, the pliee with dumbell I went to heavy and pulled a muscle but now for over a week it turned into a pinched nerve i can feel it in my neck around left shoulder under arm and down, my index finger is numb and tingly. I am not one to run to the dr but I have tried heating pad, hot shower, and massaging nothing working have any of you experienced this and will it go away on its own or should I break down and go its not painful anymore just annoying now.

since your getting numbness into your middle finger, it sounds like your median nerve got pinched (thoracic outlet syndrome) there is not much more you can do with it but rest and stretch your upper traps, chest, and neck muscles. Also your scalenes may be tight (they are just behind your collar bone and some connect to your 1st rib and cause the entrapment sensation your feeling). Its hard for me to describe to you in words how to release your scalene but if you do a search on scalene release for the first rib, you will probably find some pics to help you see how to do it (this may or may not be the source of the problem but worth a try). Definately don't lift upper body right now until the sensation subsides. Hope this helps some.

my two cents worth. Go to the doctor. I pulled a muscle in my back the very last day of STS and I suffered for 2 weeks. Going to the doctor helped and thought I rarely take medication, the muscle relaxers were a blessing. I took them for five nights and felt significantly better. I also layed off the heavy weights for 4 weeks and feel much better now.

I hope you get things straightened out soon and are feeling better.
