i just went into the cksales website and i was going to order the cathe abs dvd.But I love ordering more then one video and I have had my eye on Karen Voights pilates dvd.
Does anyone have them and are they any good? I have 2 of Karen Voights work outs and I wasn't really impressed with them because I thought they were going to be tough like Cathes, they weren't. So now I am sort of nervous about ordering anymore videos from her cause I don't know if it will be a waste of money.Any info on these dvds would be great,
thanks,
lori

Hey Lori....I started stepping with Karen Voight and I really like her...you are right though, her workouts are not nearly as intense as Cathe's. I have Cardio Strength, which I still use quite a bit, and I love the second half of Streamline Fitness...the half with the abs and the bit of yoga. The first half of that tape is useless for me now....come on now...three pound balls for toning...Hah! Anyway, I also have Yoga Sculpt.....which I find very relaxing, but also challenging. Energy Sprints is also in my collection, but I do not use that as much anymore, the beginning standing leg work is so darn boring, but the actual "sprints" are great, very motivational and a lot of fun. Anyway, I hope that helps a bit! Donna.

Hi Lori! In my opinion, Karen has many strengths, but she really excells in the yoga and pilates. I have the DVD with the abs and back and the resistance ring - they are both excellent. (I also have Core Essentials and never use it because the other two mentioned above are better). They are pilates workouts, though, so I woulldn't compare them to Cathe's intensity because it is a different type of working out. Hope this helps...Lynn

Hi,

I agree with Lyn, these aren't intense workouts in the same way as Cathe. I am not even a very big fan of KV, but I really like this DVD. The appeal for me, of Pilates, is that it works little muscles, more of the stabilizing, postural muscles, that you don't necessarily hit when doing traditional gym style lifting. I found I really felt it in my back and abs the next day after I did Karen Voight's pilates workout. The other one on the DVD, with the resist a ring, I liked less (I find the resist a ring to be a kind of a dumb thing, it's painful in a bad way to use). I like pilates alot, and KV doesn't do a strict pilates workout but it is pilates syle, and very effective for the abs and back,

Christine
