pilates ball warning message

Hi, I just bought one of those giant body balls so that I can use it for Cathe's PUB/PLB. I bought the Reebok Pilates ball (65 cm) at Kohls. I open it up and there is a small piece of paper with this on it:

WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.

Is this common with all of these balls? Has anyone else seen this before? I plan on having more kids in the next couple of years and will return this ball bec of that.

I don't know if it's common of the balls but I do know it's a common "warning" on items sold in California. The warning labels in CA are more "alarmist" than in any other state.

Didn't have this message with my ball! Don't know if I should worry or not. But usually when I use my ball, I'm heading for the shower right afterwards anyway. (BTW, I'm in IL)

Hi,

I bought exactly the same ball 4-5 weeks ago from FogDog, but I don't recall seeing that warning.

I did a bunch of google searches on the subject, but nothing turned up. Usually a consumer alert site will show up somewhere.

The message is on a small piece of paper, about the size of a business card - probably easy to miss. Btw, I am in NH. I checked Google too, and couldn't find anything. But they use balls similar to these in birthing rooms and classes, so I am not sure what this note was about.

Not an expert but my $.02:

The warning could be about the powder/coating inside the ball to keep it from sticking together until the ball is inflated.
