Pilates and ankle weights ?

I just wanted to know if anyone has ever used ankle weights when they do pilates ? I just done pilates sculpting for the ABs and Buns and Thighs last night for the first time  .. what a work out, and I wouldn't even consider using the ankle weights until I get these pilates to where I can do them good. Mercy, that one where you rock on your back and then balance back on you bum, thats hard ... the rest of them are hard to but that one I had a really hard time with lol.
Anyway just curious, anyone that cares to reply, jump right on in :7 ...... thanks Rhonda :7

I guess no one has tried this or knows if it helps or not lol ..... anyone ??? ...... thanks Rhonda :7

Hi Rhonda! I just did last nite Janis Saffell's new tape called "Brand New Butt + Pilates". She doesn't use ankle weights she uses a resistance band & let me tell you my legs were shaking like mad & there soooo sore today I can't begin to tell you! Very challenging; one that I'm definitely going to do once a week into my rotation. You might want to consider this. Just a suggestion. HTH, Kathy:D

Hey KathyH, I did the winsor pilates for the sculpting buns and thighs today with my ankle weights, as Cathe says, yeah I'm feelin that, lol. It was tough had a hard time trying to keep my form. Anyway just wanted to share that. Rhonda :7 :7

I was in the bookstore looking through some Pilates books. I saw pictures of people doing the exercises with ankle weights, so it can be done as long as you're careful. Haven't tried it myself though.

Hi Kathy!

Hope you don't mind if I ask your advice on a tape. Just curious if you have Janis's tapes: Brand New Butt and also Brand New Butt and More??? If so, how do they compare intensity/results wise to Brand New Butt + Pilates? Does this make sense? I have been contemplating getting the first two I mentioned for sometime and didn't even know she had the Pilates one out. I battle my thigh area. (Cellulite! Uuuuuggg!) Or, I guess to make more sense, which of the three would you recommend? Thanks for your time. PS(I tried to E-mail you and also PM you, but both came back??? Anyone else having problems. I tried to PM and E-mail someone the other day and both of them came back, marked "Fatal Errors". Sounds dangerous, doesn't it?)

RE: Hi Kathy!

Hi Debbie! I'm so sorry I didn't get your email & also am just noticing this now. Janis Saffell's sculpting tapes aren't intense at all (I have ALL of Janis's tapes); she does however require you to balance a lot which fatigues the legs faster; I bought her Brand New Butt & More tape along w/the 10# weight belt; I use 8# dumbbells & get a very good workout. Its not like doing a Cathe strength training tape but its a very good compliment. I found this new tape Brand New Butt + Pilates to be her finest yet. Very challenging; the beginning has you doing balancing work & using the resistance band & dummbells are your strength portion before she takes you into the pilates section. My muscles are soooo sore for 3 days after; my butt, legs & glutes were killing me. I would definitely buy it as I intend to do this once a week into my rotation. HTH, Kathy

RE: Thanks Kathy!

Hello Again! I got the tape from janissaffell.com. She has DVDs too. I got mine w/the 5.5" band; you'll love it! I also liked her Hardcore Kickboxing tape too. Its not intense but she did use my favorite kicks crescents & hooks. Go for it! Kathy:D
