Pics from my trip to Italy and Spain

Beautiful pictures Jane! Florence was my favorite city....we may go back this summer. I'm glad you had a great time! Welcome Back!

Tammy, Florence was my favorite also along with Assisi which was breathtakingly beautiful. Assisi, of course, is in Tuscany as is Florence. Tuscany is a beautiful region.

Beautiful pictures Jane!

It looks like a wonderful experience to share with your daughter!!:) :)

We missed you here, I'm really glad you're back!!!

Oh, Jane - thanks for sharing! DH and I always talk about going, but have not had a chance yet! Such beautiful countries!

Yes, Welcome back Jane....sounds like you had a great time! Thanks for sharing the pics. That Vatican Museum looks spectacular!!...:)

Beautiful pics, Jane! I'm so glad you went. How'd you fare on the plane ride? I know you were nervous about it but I figured you'd be okay once things got underway.

We're going to Italy in October and I can't wait! My mom was born in a little mountain town near Naples and I can't wait to visit her hometown.

Michele:)

I did okay on the plane ride. I was extremely nervous on my first take off but I didn't make a scene! I did, however, about break DD's hand!! I had four take offs and landings since we made a connection in Munich, Germany going there and coming back. I do not like take offs at all, they make me nauseous! I am okay at cruising altitude and even the descent and landing doesn't make me feel as queasy as take off and ascent. I'll fly again though, it is indeed the only way to travel!

Those are gorgeous pictures, Jane. :) It's so wild...my friend and her daughter just got back from a tour of Italy...not sure exactly when you were there, but you may have crossed paths! They were there about 2 weeks and got back around March 29. :)

What a great vacation!! Now, what did you eat that was fabulous? What was your favorite wine?

Great photos, Jane! Thanks for sharing them. I've never been there in person.

These pictures are beautiful! I was born in Italy and have only gone back once, back in 1984. It was the best experience I ever had. Wish I could go back.

Some of the food was very good and some of it wasn't so good. I had fabulous sangria in Spain and a very good seafood paella which I ate most of but couldn't take the octopus tenacles, I drew the line there !!! LOL.....

In Italy, the pasta was good. We definitely overcook pasta here (at least I do). I now know the proper way to cook pasta. I have some extra weight on me from the pastries, crossiants, etc. If you didn't eat this for breakfast, you pretty much went without because they don't eat eggs there for breakfast. Cereal, crossiants, jam, etc. I learn very quickly to ask for American coffee, their coffee is a very strong expresso that resembles diesel fuel!!! I swear that stuff could lift off the space shuttle. At the hotel in Florence, we did have eggs on our breakfast buffet but only to accommodate the Americans.
