Photo's/sorting/scrapping

I am just wondering if anyone else here has ever let their photo's morph into a mountain!!?? I have literally spent the last three days sorting. Five garbage bags full (why did I get those copies??) - and yes I know - bad for the environment. Now we finally have a digital SLR and I don't think there will be near as much waste.

I blew off my workouts to finish this job - well, today isn't over and I did do 10-10-10 yesterday so maybe not a total bust.

My son is 13 and I need to scrap his life!! I have to head to FL again for at least a month to take care of my sick Dad and am taking an extra suitcase full of photo's and scrap stuff so I can get some of this done!!

Anyone have any helpful hints that would be great!

Thanks

Start sorting by year. Then by season. It doesn't have to be in perfect order. Then you can also make a pile for school related/sports that you want to include in scrapbook(s).

Go to twopeasinabucket.com do search LOM challenge that should help. Or pick up Stacy Julian Photo Freedom book.

IHTH:eek:

Thanks for the input. It's the pits to try and remember cronilogically.

I am thinking of going the theme book route ~ school, CHRISTmas, Halloween, each individual sport, vacations etc.

Somehow I think that will work the easiest for me.

I won't let this happen again?

How many pages do you or anyone else on the forum do in a day/week/month?

Take care,
Dawn

I scrap a page a week...in my dreams ;D Once I get organized, it doesn't usually take much for me to crank out a dozen pages in a day, more or less depends on distractions. Are you using a sorting system thingy? I have a power sort box for each of my sons (OK, 2 for the oldest, but that was before digital) and I have gotten caught up chronologically, but it was a pain...and if they were over age 10, I'd be in major trouble!
I recently purchased scrapbooking "inspirations books" by Stacy Julian (?) from Simple scrapbooks-had great ideas especially for getting rid of the "OMG, I'm not doing it right/not a "worthy" scrapper..." guilt and provides a lot of inspiration for books that aren't chronological in nature.
Another inspiration book is more like a scrapdesign by number by Close To My Heart stamp founder.
Good luck and hope your father is OK
