I've decided to be less efficient at work.
I normally try to consolidate trips the supply room, bathroom, etc so I'm at my desk more. I work like a fiend anyway, so I just wanted to get more done.
Well guess what, that was just making me a sedentary slug...no way I can get my 10,000 steps in that way (and you can be sure the boss never noticed or appreciated it).
I just figured out with my GWF that 1 roundtrip to the supply room knocks out 450 steps!
I'm away from my desk for maybe 8 minutes, and then dive right back in. I betcha I could knock out 2500 steps a day just by doing errands when I think of them, instead of trying to do them all in one trip. Again, I am VERY productive and efficient in my job, so I don't think this will affect my actual work.
I've also decided to take a 15 minute walk outside after I eat, unless it's pouring rain or super hot out. I usually eat my lunch at my desk and stay put. It's amazing, this little GWF gadget is making me change my way of thinking.
I'm open for all other advice on getting more active (besides working out). I can't park farther away due to where I work, but I'm open to suggestions!
