Hi Cathe,
I was wondering if you could suggest a reputable place to receive my personal trainer certification from. There seems to be a lot of them out there. I have info from Penn Foster and the International Sports Science Association. Is one better than the other? Thank you for your advice. I love your work outs. Keep them coming. And what size stability ball do you use? Thanks.
Susan.

Hi!

I have also researched aerobics certification programs, and I think you should check out either ACE or AFAA. They both have wonderful websites.

I can't wait to start AFAA!

Good luck and best wishes!

:)

Hi Susan! I hope you found the info you needed. If you are looking for extensive knowledge in the field you can consider personal training courses that are actually run at colleges/institutes that last for 6 months. If you want to do a less concentrated, yet very reputable-in-the-fitness-industry certification coarse, then I recommend ACE, AFAA, or yet more intense, ACSM.

Take Care and Good Luck!

Thank you Cathe, I appreciate your advice. And again, thank you for the awesome workouts. Please, please keep them coming.
Susan

Thanks for the information! I just finished closing on a house in NJ and I am looking forward to beginning a PT course at Middlesex County College (after I have this baby in September.........) Now I have to prioritize my Cathe workouts around my packing (or, rather, vice versa!!)

I prefer NSCA myself. For me the top 3 certifications gyms would hire very quickly are ACSM, NSCA and NASM. I personally don't know any trainers who are ACE or AFAA certified. Most I know are CSCS, NSCA and NASM certified. Most who are ACE certified are group instructors. I'm studying for NSCA-CPT myself and it's not an easy test as only 51% pass and most who pass are second time test takers. I would look at what most gyms prefer or where you prefer to work at. Gold's Gym for example prefer NASM certification. Good luck with whichever organization you choose. Let us know!

Lisa :)

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for reassuring me that NASM is good. I am interested in them because they "offer" various online master degrees. I also want to do the "Corrective Exercise Specialist" Certificate after I get the Personal Trainer Certificate (or finish my BS in Health and Wellness Management - whichever comes first).
