Personal Goals Sep 12

How is everyone doing today? It is Monday and only one of mine is going back to school! ;( Mariah has a stomach-cramping-flu-thingy. I have been thanking my husband profusely for passing it on. x(

How is everyone's eating? I did excellent yesterday, but did have a sliver of my niece's birthday cake. It was completely ungratifying. It tasted yucky and sort of like plastic - it was a bakery cake that I am sure was full of preservatives and other crap. It is amazing what you can taste when you deny yourself of something for only a week and it is scary what people put in their food and are willing to eat. No thank you is what I will say in the future. Anyways, if I am going to cheat, next time I will make it something that is completely sinful and makes me moan in delight as it is going down, that way my guilt will atleast have tasted good!

My eating has been pretty good but yesterday we had a cookout and I ate a Mett, a LITTLE bit of homemade coleslaw, baked beans and baked potato chips. NOT a huge plate of food, just a taste of everything. I am NOT used to a lot of meat and especially not the kind like that with preservatives, fillers, etc.. and I paid for it ! The rest of the day I felt bloated, sluggish and sleepy. YUCK!
Today I think I'll stick with a nice big spinach salad with chicken for lunch and a nice light dinner. ;)
Your idea about splurging is a good one. I heard once the same thing.......that if your favorite splurge food is brownies, only eat them when they are fresh, the day they are baked, maybe still warm. Eat ONE and enjoy every bit of it, but don't "waste" your splurge on a day old brownie. Same holds true to everything else. It's good advice and I try to remember that.....and *MOST* of the time I do pretty well. :p

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. Everybody is sick these days.:-(

I'm bound and determined to eat clean this week. I kind of blew it yesterday. My in-laws took DH and I out to dinner last night to a lovely French bistro--they wanted to treat DH for his birthday. My dinner was great--a 6 oz filet of beef with a salad and a vegetable side of snow peas and carrots. I blew it with a big ole dinner roll slathered in butter and dessert--a brownie topped with sliced strawberries and fresh made ice cream. It was really delicious.

I started off today with a bowl of oatmeal with chopped apple and toasted walnuts, coffee, and 2 glasses of water. I'm just getting ready for my cardio. I don't know what I'm going to have the rest of the day but I swear it will be squeaky clean ;)

Good morning ladies , I did good yesturday .Went to a B-Day party and said No thank you to cake !!! Wow I surprised myself ,I was famished when I got home though ... Not one clean food at party ! I drank water LOL . Today is another day and its TTOM 9Well a few days before )So I gotta stay strong !! Thanks ladies have great days

Hi Becky! A spinach salad sounds great. How do you make it? Just like a regular salad or something a little more fancy? I am so bored with just eating leaf lettuce salads.

Well I had my Peanut brittle ice cream last night as my reward for losing. It was yummy, but not as gratifying as the last time I ate it. I guess when you stop eating sugar and bad stuff, you're body gets used to it and doesn't even want it anymore.

I just have to tell you guys this. This morning I pulled out my Pre-Pregnancy shorts from 1997 and I fit in them!! I had Daniel in 1998 so summer of 97 was the last time I wore them! This sugar thing definatley works. It has made a world of difference for me. So let's all keep up the good work! OK?

I always do something different with my salads, because I eat them a lot and don't want to get bored. Today (I just finished lunch) I mixed baby spinach and romaine lettuce, then mixed canned salmon, dill, a TEENY bit of lowfat Hellmann's and relish and put that on top and then used a small amount of fat free honey mustard dressing over it. YUMMY! Oh and lot's of fresh garden tomatoes, while I can still get them. mmmm Also had an apple and water. GOOD lunch.
If I get hungry inbetween lunch and dinner, I like to have a watermelon smoothie. Lots of watermelon , 1/2 cup of raspberry sherbet and lots of ice blended together. Very refreshing and filling!:9

Kali, that is so awesome!!! I am so happy for you! I actually was about ready to start a thread with the same thing - I wore my prepregnancy pants to church yesterday! :7 :7 :7 so, all of this suffering actually is good for something!:p
