Perfectionist really unhappy people?

I have heard that people who obsessed about one thing are really unhappy. Trying so hard to make something perfect, and it is never good enough means something else troubling deep inside that person? Are these perfectionist really happy people? Well the way I have been cleaning today makes me wonder if something is bothering me. I am no perfectionist, but just for today I might be. LOL! I unscrewed the base along the bottom of my cabinets to get the dirt particles along the edges. Vacuumed inside the recliner, bottom part. LOL!

Just something to ponder about.

You just described one of my friends. From the outside everything is perfect and what isn't she tries to fix.She looks perfect, her house is perfect, and her kids are well dressed.Yet, I know what is really bothering her and she needs help with it. But until she gets the help she needs, she will just keep dieting, adding to her home and combing the kids hair.

So yes, from what I know,or the perfectionsit I know, they are unhappy.

Psychologically speaking, someone who is a perfectionist may not be unhappy so to speak.

Typically, this person may have a lot of chaos or anxiety in their life over things they cannot seem to get a handle on. Therefore, they may feel a compulsion to make things perfect or go overboard to control the things they can. It's a coping mechanism like any other.
