Pentagenarians & Beyond: Windy Tuesday!

Cathlete
Good Morning all,

Today I did Pure Strength Chest, Shoulders, Triceps.. a nice weight workout without any fancy steps..just good old fashioned weight work. love it! It's cold and windy here today.. it was 20 degrees when DH and I walked the dogs earlier.

Garance:
I wish I had the patience to learn those step routines in 4DS. Did you ever get the Timesaver DVD? Your dancing sounds like a lot of fun..and Mexican afterwards.. YUM :9

Linny:
No more trips planned for work until April when I have to go to Memphis for training. I did see the blog and thought how great it is that Cathe is putting up so many pictures of the rehearsals. Are you ordering or did you order? I hope your new job works out too!

Jen:
Wow that company sounds grueling! 8 and 1/2 hour orientation with tests? What kind of things did they tell you and test you on? What exactly is the position you are taking? I'm sure you were glad to get home and do a workout.. sounds easier than the day you had!

Take care ladies and stay warm!

Deb

Hi Deb and those to follow:
Deb:I wish I could order STS, but for now until DH's work situation picks up I'll have to wait.Garance has got me very interested in the 4ds too:) I'll have to play Powerball and hope I win this week.
Jen:Happy new job!!Have a great day! I hate all day orientation,I usually feel like a nap should be fit in during the afternoon. I was suppose to fill out preemployment at new job today, but it sounds like they only have one staff developer and she is up to her eyeballs in a weekly orientation.I told her that we can do it next week and she was quite grateful.
Our infection control nurse says its official NH is having their flu epidemic. My son called yesterday and said he was vomiting all day.My poor baby.Sounds like there are 2 different flu going around.I hope I don't get itx(
I'll check in later.~Linny~

Hi Deb, Linny, Jen, and Josie--

This morning I did 4ds Bootcamp with bis and tris (62 min.). I'm still not bored with my current rotation.

Yeah--I saw those hunks on the blog!! Told DH about them and about the possibility that I might need a pullup bar. He just chuckled, and said "let's wait and see." Yep, I'm going to postpone any purchases until I know that I will use them. I am looking forward to the STS series though.

Some advice needed: So I ordered the Timesaver DVD from a seller at Amazon.com on January 5. Two weeks later I e-mailed her, asking if she had sent the DVD. No response. A week later, I e-mailed her again. On the day before Amazon recommends that you can ask for a refund, I send a third e-mail. The next day I ask for a refund. On February 1, I get an e-mail from the seller assuring me that she put the DVD in the mail by January 9, and saying she's sorry my e-mails 1 and 2 somehow got confused with Spam. I told her that I had asked Amazon for a refund, which I was told later on the same day was happening. So three days later I get a package, postmarked February 1, first class mail, which I assume has the Timesaver DVD in it. I haven't opened it and intend to send it back when I make sure that I have received my refund on my next credit card statement. The other thing that bothers me is that the thing is rattling in the package, which makes me wonder if it isn't damaged. Question: would you send it back now? Would you write a scolding note? Or, would you just wait, as I have chosen to do. I am modestly miffed that I have to pay postage on the thing.

I heard that the flu vaccine this year was only 40 percent effective, while usually it's 70 percent effective. I believe it because I've been hearing a whole lotta coughin' goin' on around here from both students and faculty. I wash my hands religiously and often.

Hey Deb, it's great to have you back starting these threads. I like Pure Strength too. I'm just happy for now with my 4ds. I wonder how long it will take before I get bored and move on.

Hmm, Jen, I will have to check out the Christi Taylor. I've been doing Jari Love's Chiseled and Ripped, which is good, but every now and then I am mildly irritated by her solemn delivery of little proverbs and pep talk.

How are you Josie??

Hi Ladies,

Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes! I ended up getting the flu and was sick the whole weekend. I still don't feel 100%.

I will not be working out tonight.

Welcom back Deb, I love Cancun and can't wait to go back.

Josie
