Good morning ladies!

Rainy here this morning. No real plans today. DH and I are planning to watch the Pats game at 1pm so this will be our day.

Yesterday I did two t25 workouts followed by LBB (no floor work). Then spent the day with my son's girlfriend. Love her and had a great time. With Nicholas gone we plan to meet up once a month. Next month the plan is to spend the day at the local outlet stores.

Deb...enjoy this much needed day with your family.

Chat with you all tomorrow!

Good morning, I brought Lori's post over here, started the new week's thread.

Things are going as I thought...lots of family stuff, watching videos of past events, etc Nice getting together with a lot of people we haven't seen in years.

Getting really cool here, it feels like fall for sure,

Take care,

Hi Everyone,

It was a pretty quiet weekend here. I did go to FIL's yesterday and mowed the lawn. I hate for DH to have to do that and everything else by himself. I can take a break next month, when the lawn mowing is done for the season.

I have taken a break from working out but am ready to get back at it. Last night I did 20 minutes of Core Max and this morning I did Muscle Max. Tomorrow I will start back with my Spinerval workouts and running.

Deb-I'm thinking of you and your family, it's good that you can all be together at this time.
It was really cool here this morning too.

Lori-Great job on the workouts!

Hi to Valerie, Josie, Lynda and Cathy!

Judy

Good morning,

Not much going on here, funeral this morning, then a breakfast After that I want to come home and sleep.

Judy, yes, nice thing about fall, the yard work can be reduced, all except the leaf raking. Does your FIL have a lot of trees? How is the driving situation going?

Hi to all, will check back late.

Good Morning,

Deb-I hope you can get some rest later today. Hugs to you and your family :(

I had conveniently forgotten about raking leaves at FIL's:eek: That is quite a job and usually takes 3-4 Saturdays of work before the leaves are finally gone. Ann Arbor is known as "tree town" and FIL's neighborhood lives up to that name.

DH is taking FIL to the eye doctor tomorrow. On Saturday FIL said he "couldn't see anything" with his left eye. I will be extremely surpised if he gets the ok to drive after his exam.

I had said earlier that I wasn't going to order any more workout dvds until next year, but Pure Strength is a deal of the day today and I couldn't pass it up at that price. I like Muscle Max so much that I am sure I will like PS.

Hope everyone has a good Monday, I'll check back in later.

Judy

Good morning Ladies!

No workout this morning. Lately I just do not sleep on a Sunday night. Plan to walk Chester as soon as I am home then P90x chest and back.

Yesterday I did T25 Speed 3.0 then followed up with p90x yoga.

I know I said I would not buy any more workouts either but then I go and read p90x3 is coming in December and they will be all 30 minute workouts. I know I will not be able to refuse this one. And then it is a matter of time that Cathe will have more NEW workouts to preorder!!!! I guess it just does not end.

OMG! With Nicholas gone I guess I will be the one raking leaves. Crap! never thought about this.

Deb...come home and grab a cup of tea, take a nap and then do nothing for the rest of the day.

I will chat with you all tomorrow!

Good morning,

Chilly here today, hope it gets a little warmer. All went well with the funeral, very long and tiring weekend.

Work, then home to figure out what to pack for Washington. I leave tomorrow around 5:00 pm back Friday night. ugh.

Judy, DH has a mower that you can use to "rake" leaves, it then kind of mulches them into the bag. I guess they all do that right? So if they are dry you can basically vacuum them up with the mower. Makes it easier if the conditions are right, still lots of raking here too, We have 2 large Norway maple trees that are dropping leaves into December. Hope your FIL appointment goes ok. Scary about not seeing out of one eye. Pure Strength is a great DVD. No premixes though, since this was taken from a video tape and made into a DVD. Still a very good one and classic lifting.

Lori, I looked at the clip for P90x3. It looks similar to the other P90x workouts, however the 30 minute length is very intriguing.

to Josie and Valerie,

Will check back later...

Hi Ladies,

Went spinning this morning and feel like I'm getting stronger :). No raking leaves over here ;) our gardener does the work once a week.

Deb, glad everything went well, but sorry that you have to travel. My DH just got back from a week an a half long trip and has been exhausted.

Lory, are you thinking about work on Sunday night? I used to do that sometimes and could not get myself relaxed enough to fall asleep.

Judy, can't you and your DH hire someone to help out with your FlL? The both of you are doing so much.

Hi to our traveling Valerie and Lynda!

Josie

Good afternoon ladies!

So nice here today. I love this weather!

This morning was Cathe's Hiit Pyramid and tonight will be walk Chester on this beautiful day. Hoping I can get out while the sun is still shining.

Josie...that is exactly it. Work has been very stressful the past month or so and it is only going to get worse. Glad you are getting stronger.

Deb...thinking I am going to love p90x3. Already told DH to put these on my Xmas list! Safe travels. Are you bringing any workouts with you? The only time I do Travel Fit is when I travel. I know some use it regularly regardless. I feel it is new and refreshing if I only do it every now and then when traveling.

Hi to Judy, Valerie and Lynda!

Hi Everyone,

I did an hour of indoor cycling this morning and it felt great! I think I need to take rest days more often.

Deb-we can mow some of the leaves, but they are so thick at his house that we end up doing a lot of raking by hand. FIL is at the doctor right now, DH is texting me that things aren't looking good :( He has blood in his right eye and they are sending him to see a retina specialist next week. DH is very upset now so I can't get much else out of him. I am hoping that the doctor is addressing the driving issue.

Josie-I agree, I would love to hire someone to do FIL's yard work. The problem is-DH is so stubborn that if I say I won't do it any more, then he will just try to do it all himself rather than hire someone. FIL could easily afford to hire someone but if DH and I told him we couldn't do it anymore, he is so cheap he would try to do it himself and probably have a heart attack. Meanwhile, SIL is against FIL paying anyone to do anything as that will decrease her inheritance. I am finding this situation to be very frustrating. I believe this is what is known as a dysfunctional family:eek:

Hi to Lori, Valerie, Lynda and Cathy!

Judy

Good morning,

Leaving for DC this afternoon, I am already missing home and wish I was on my way back.

Josie, I wish we had a gardener. DH will not let me hire one. He claims that he "likes to do the yard work"...really? Anyway, you are lucky that is one chore I do not like either.

Lori, I don't think I am bringing any workouts. I usually have a hard time sleeping in hotels, so I know I will not be getting up before the meetings to work out. I am like you, I only do Travel Fit when I travel! That is so funny when you think about it. Like it's a "rule" or something. LOL

Judy, I hope that your FIL eye issue is something that they can correct easily. Did he injure it in some way?

Cathy, come on over to this thread! I think Lori is right, it is probably the size of your pic that is stopping it from downloading...also, you have to delete the current one I think.

Leaving work at noon to come home and pack, so I will check back later,

Take care,

Good afternoon ladies!

This morning was xtrain all out low impact. Been too long since I did this and forgot how much I like it.

I am out of work tomorrow and Friday. Prepping for colonoscopy then procedure is Friday. This will be my first and it is just routine. Not looking forward to it. I most likely will not be working out. Since no food tomorrow I do not want to overdo it as I have type 2 diabetes and will be feeling out of sorts with no food. This will be a long day.

Deb...funny about the "rule". So true! You will be home with the puppies before you know it.

Judy...Ugh...thinking of leaves at the moment. You ladies are suppose to motivate me not depress me!!!! Lol!!

Have a great night all!

I woke up with a sore throat this morning and I've felt like crap all day. I'm hoping to feel better tomorrow. Something is going around at work and I must have picked it up. I did manage to do 20 minutes of core max.

Lori-Good luck with your colonoscopy and prep. I will be getting my first one soon too. DH had his last year and didn't have any problems. I will admit I am not looking forward to the prep at all.

Deb-Apparently the bleeding is related to the macular degeneration. The thing that DH was most upset about yesterday, which I didn't find out until he got home was that FIL was supposed to have had a follow up appt with the eye doctor 6 months ago. SIL was the one who took FIL to the eye doctor last year and should have relayed that to DH but apparently she wasn't paying attention during the appt. I guess we'll know more Friday when he sees the retina specialist.

Hi to Valerie, Lynda, Josie, and Cathy!

Judy

Hi everyone--

I haven't posted in a long time because I have been very busy and recently very sad. Deb, I read your posts, and it sounds like you have been grieving as well. My sister-in-law was killed on September 21 in a biking race. Like Josie, she was doing 100 miles along the coasts of Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. She had been training for this event all summer and decided to do this annual event. She was hit by a car on a bridge in Hampton. The car went over the line and hit her head-on, killing her and another friend and injuring two others. The girl did not have a license and had been stopped on the same bridge at 12:45 A. M., about eight hours before this accident speeding in a 30 mile zone at what the officer said was 59 mph. If she had been traveling at 60 (and she probably was), she would have been arrested. Instead, a friend picked her up, sold her an opiate (the 'friend' is a well-known drug dealer facing charges), and let her take the car in the morning. This should never have happened. She is facing charges of negligent homicide and aggravated assault. The 'friend' and a boyfriend (his car) are also facing charges. I hope she goes to prison for a long time. She bragged about speeding with her boyfriend on her facebook page and enjoying drugs at some club in Boston on a regular basis. My sister-in-law was CFO for the Boston Symphony, married with 2 kids, ages 17 and 16, and my heart is broken, as is my husband's. A memorial service this Sunday.

Lynda, My heart aches for you. I have been following this on the news. I have seen the pictures of the two beautiful women that so tragically lost their lives. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband.

Lynda,

I am so sorry to hear about your sister-in -law. My thoughts are with your family. So sad and so tragic. I also hope the girl that was driving is put in prison for a long time. Although that is little consolation for someone's life and the family they leave behind.

Lynda,

I am so sorry for your loss. I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Judy

Well colonoscopy went well. I have minor diverticulosis. Other than that all is normal.

This morning I did The Gauntlet workout from the Intensity Series. Been years since I have done this one. I like it becuase it has a little of everything. I then immediatly took chester for a 3 mile walk. It is beautiful here and we both enjoyed it. Felt good to be out in about since I have been on the couch the past couple of days.

Looks like new workouts starting shipping and we should have them early next week. Yeah!

Deb...hope your trip went well and you are home relaxing.

Judy...hope you are felling better and did not get sick too bad.

Lynda...you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi to valerie, josie and cathy!

Hi Ladies,

I went spinning this morning and did a total body circuit yesterday. My upper body is a bit sore today.

Garance, I don't have the words to express my sadness about what happened to your SIL. I always worry about the drivers out there with so many distractions now a day. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I also hope that the girl and the people involved pay dearly for their actions.

Hi to Deb, Lori, Valerie and Judy!

Josie

Hi all...checking in briefly here... our trip went pretty well. started off on a negative note when we got stopped at customs for a vehicle check. took a while and it feels creepy for this guy to go through all your stuff, including cell phone and wallet. we were "clean" of course, but it 's a funny feeling. wish I knew if there was a reason or if it's totally random, like every 40th vehicle gets checked or something

Jasper ( the park) is lovely. haven't been there in years but the mountains (so many mountains) are gorgeous. saw some critters but not as many as we thought since weather conditions were decidedly wintery. Jasper (the town) is a busy tourist trap. I hate places like that.. it was maybe worse than Tahoe... but we needed to go into town several times for gas. I will also say that drivers from Alberta overall do the most incredibly reckless illegal passing that I've seen anywhere. we've seen it before but had several incredibly dangerous situations caused by someone passing multiple vehicles in no pass zones with oncoming traffic..
did some hiking and biking but not as much as we expected. some spots were simply too crowded. one place we could not park our vehicle because of seriously uneven ground. it snowed several times ruling out steeper hikes that were too slippery. too cold in the mornings to bike, but later in the day was OK. saw a moose & many tracks elsewhere, bear tracks, a gigantic bull elk & some cows, a wolf, a coyote and several ptarmigan. It's a lovely place with some drawbacks because of visitor over load. we drove to a trailhead the last morning and 3 schoolbus loads of 4th graders 100 or so kids.. were going on the same hike. we changed our plan!

we are here for a couple days and are getting a big storm today into tomorrow and will probably be out of power. wind with trees still leafy is almost a guarantee. we rake all our leaves off the lawn and under the evergreens where they decay over winter forming a nice rich layer.

Deb and Lynda I am so sorry for your losses. I read the article about the bike crash to DH while we were driving because we have been riding so much and wreckless driving is always a concern. this now feels very close to home and even sadder to know more about the person and how much was lost because of stupidity and carelessness.
we had picked up some info and are talking about training for a century ride when I saw the article.
