Good morning. Deb, check in and let us know you are doing OK.
ETA... I was tossing receipts from last august. I saw a summary of my most unpleasant UTI last year. in the written "prevention" directions, it says drink a glass of 'REAL" cranberry juice daily. also take probiotics while being treated for infection. It was unusual event for me and I dislike the mouth feel of cranberry. I just hydrated like crazy with plain water. I had two antibiotic shots over 2 days and a week of oral meds.

We drove home yesterday, 11 hours. a decent commute. Saturdays are much better to drive than sundays, but a long day no matter how you do it.

when we loaded our car to leave, we noticed mouse chewed Kleenex on the floor. car was not used, locked and parked empty on a concrete pad. we don't know how or why mice got in. we caught 5 so far. so the hunt goes on with snap and sticky traps. we are sure mice were not in when we drove there, and then we emptied the car and switched to our truck. of course the doors are open while unloading but wow! always something....

Good afternoon, Ladies. Another rest day here. I planned two rest days as a part of my active rest week. Things are good here and we are having a wonderful day.

Valerie, mice in the car!! I hope that you have caught them all. Eleven hours in a car is like an eternity for me. I hate cars trips.

Hello to Deb, Diane Sue, Judy, and Lori.

Good afternoon,.

No workout, too tired and hot. I am feeling much better re: the UTI. I have an appointment for another culturetomorrow morning to see if the antibiotic is working, Please keep your fingers crossed that it is, because if they think it needs to be changed, I could be looking at a bad time.

Diane Sue, I hope you are feeling better today! Thanks for the link, I don't think we have that in this area. I agree with others, and your decision, time to get a new tablet. My computer guy told me the same thing yesterday. He could not get my PD to boot up, although the hard drive is fine, all data is there, thank goodness. He is ordering a new one for me, loading it all up et, I should have it by next weekend.

Carolyn, Hope you are having a great rest "weekend"...thanks for the reminder about the fruit add-ons to make water taste better...I used to do that but had forgotten about it. I would not do well with an 11 hour car trio either!

Valerie, I am amazed at the water you drink, especially just whem getting up. Agree on the taste of all natural cranberry juice. As soon as there was a hint of a UTI, I doubled up on the probiotics I take, assuming I would be taking some type of antibiotic eventually. I do this for the duration of the antibiotics, and even stretch it a little longer. I have never heard of getting an injection for a UTI, it would make sense in my case, bypass the intestinal system.

Hi to Lori & Judy,

Take care

Deb, you probably have a bladder infection. Glad its better. mine had progressed "upstream" to my kidneys. I didn't have any typical symptoms so it had been present for a while, and I was pretty sick when I went in. I had two shots of Rocephin, one that day, one the next, and a week of ciprofloxacin. I was very close to needing a hospital and IV antibiotics. it used to be just a whiff of antibiotics cured a UTI but due to antibiotic overuse and bacteria; resistance , it now takes a whole lot. that is a lot of motivation to be sure I don't get a repeat. I fine it too easy to skip drinking enough during the day, so I adopted the early morning 2 bottles to get things off to a good start. it made a huge difference to me to get rid of chlorine swimming pool smell.

Good afternoon ladies!!!!

Wow, it seems like it has been ages since I have posted. I have a lot of catching up to do!! I have been crazy busy at work and in my personal life. Other than the last 2 weeks I have been keeping up with my workouts, mainly doing LEKFIT. I also did a trial with Obe fitness, then they gave a free month which was nice. These are 30 min dance and light weight/hi rep workouts which is perfect for me.

Deb....hope you are feeling better!!

Diane...Sounds like you are sick too!

Judy...I saw on FB that you bought a peloton!! This is so perfect for you!!! Enjoy!

Off to start reading post to see what is going on.

Thank you all for thinking of me!!!

I had a sort of rest day yesterday. I had the grandchildren overnight Friday night and after they left yesterday we went to pick up the motorcycle after some more stuff my husband had added, and then headed to our church to work. We ended up being there 9 hours working. I painted window frames and molding for around the bottom of the wall. There mobile building had a hole along the wall in the floor and we put wide molding across the whole wall to block it off so critters won't get in. We also replaced the wood around the windows and caulked. My husband did that, I just cleaned up the messes and helped guide the wood through the saw. My arm and shoulder hurt a lot, along with my knees last night and this morning. I just decided to make today just a relax day. Still trying to get some things caught up as I have grandchildren all week this week. That is the reason I couldn't get to the physical therapist yet.

Lori, it is so nice to see you check in. That is great that you have been able to keep up with your workouts with so much going on.

Valerie, I have never had mice get in my car before. It must be the areas that you live and park. I get up first thing in the morning and chug a bottle of water because I am so dry and then make a cup of mushroom coffee, then have decaf , and then a shaker bottle of amazing grass hydrate effervescent tablet with lemonade collagen powder from ancient nutrition. Then when I workout I drink alkaline water. It just goes on from there. It is no wonder I am up all night.

Carolyn, nice that you took an extra rest day and having such a nice day.

Deb, I got the new tablet yesterday. I came home and started setting it up at 10:00 last night. I lucked out and the other one started up for me. Yesterday morning it would not even open, even though it kept trying. I was able to do the Samsung Transfer and got all of my apps and stuff transferred and got the SD card out and put it in the new one. I may try clearing the old one out and see if that makes a difference. The new one has even more space on it. I did not get the 12 inch this time though. I got a 10.5 inch tablet. Today I have been doing the log ins and organizing the apps into folders and stuff. So now I have a new laptop and a new tablet. I am glad to hear that you are feeling better. I hope the antibiotic is working. Will keep you in my prayers tomorrow for good results with the culture.
I drink water and liquids all day long and most of the night. I don't suppose they would want you to add some seltzer water or something to that cranberry juice. I used to do that all of the time.

Good morning,

I went for the culture early this morning. Thanks for all good thoughts on this. I am toying around with the idea of signing up for LIVE again...no workouts I have are inspiring me at all...

Valerie, yes, definitely a bladder infection. My ear while waiting for the culture before getting meds is just what happened to you...that it moves into my kidneys. What made you suspect something with that since you mentioned you did not have bladder infection symptoms? Not sure I could ever drink all that water before getting out of bed. My best water days are when I work out.

Lori, so glad you are back! Great that you have kept up with your workouts! How id Gigi doing?

Diane Sue, I think you can count what you did at your church as a workout! :) I can't imagine drinking all that...yikes! Then you continue on for the rest of the day. I would be in the bathroom all day and night. Good luckwith the new tablet and laptop. I am really looking forward to mine.

Hi to Carolyn & Judy

Take care

Deb, I don't know why I didn't have typical symptoms... burning, frequency that tells you something's wrong. Did not feel right, headache, a low grade fever, and when we went on a hike everything was harder than normal but I did it anyway. when we got home I had an episode of shaking chills. I told DH I needed to be seen right away, and thought it might be a UTI. we went to urgent care. they did a urinalysis, and no doubt about it. I had a fever, did not feel well. the doc told me it was a UTI, no surprise at that point, and said I was borderline if I could be treated as an outpatient. I said I would go home and rest, hydrate like crazy, and come back the next day for the second injection, take the cipro. Believe me, I did what needed to be done!
I didn't feel much better until late in the second day but I definitely was not worse. I bought urine test strips to monitor. ( my degree is in laboratory science, so I know what I'm doing) decided I would make a commitment to drink more water. I had not had a UTI since I was a kid, and I had them constantly then.

I fill a 26 oz water bottle, set it bedside. when I wake up, I look at news etc on my phone and drink that whole bottle before I get up. takes about 5 min. I drink another 26 bottle of water after breakfast with fiber supplements. I try to hydrate early so I don't get up more at night. I keep a water bottle all day and drink at least one more. morning is when I do the big push. I'm working on the second bottle as I type right now. I also drink when exercising. I was amazed getting rid of chlorine smell helped so much. after it's gone, water tastes so much better.

I did Stacked upper body yesterday and core. I increased my weights on several moves. Love this workout!

Mice! they get in thru the engine compartment. the montana house is very rural. everyone has barns, livestock, horses, pets, mice go with the territory. we were parked outside on gravel/concrete pad, and had not seen mouse activity before this. cars are more of a target recently. I've read it is due to soy-based coating on a lot of wiring and plastic parts in cars that they like to chew on. they seem to vary by the year. DH is vacuuming the car out thoroughly, not sure if we caught any more last night. we park in the garage and don't want mice setting up house there either.

This morning I did part of Rhythmic Step for 27 minutes and 198 calories burned. My average heart rate was 130 and maximum heart rate was 153. I wanted a little more cardio so after that I did JS 15 Minute Calorie Burst for 121 calories burned. Average heart rate was 131 and maximum heart rate was 154.

I am accompanying my husband to a medical appointment this afternoon. He is terrible about giving information to the doctor and about telling me about his appointment. I have learned that I need to be there with him.

Hello to everyone and have a great day. Gotta run!

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Step Drills and Compound Moves, 37 minutes, met 7.5, 223 calories, 2,749 steps. heart rate 135 average, 163 max. I also did Ice Low Impact workout 2 step and stretch only, 22 minutes, heart rate average 133, max 162, met 7.5, 136 calories, 1,424 steps. Total time was 59 minutes, calories burned 359, steps 4,173. I used 12 # dumbbells and did not do all of the compound moves. I either did just the lower adding extra reps or switched up anything involving shoulders with something else. When it was squat thrust jacks, I did step up and down on step and jumping jacks.
So tired this afternoon. I slept more last night though which is a plus. Better than the average 4 to 5 hours I keep getting lately.

Deb, if I have to cut back a bit on the liquids if I have an appointment or something to sit through for very long. Like ladies game day I drink one drink before because I know I am going to have coffee there. At least they have available restrooms.

Valerie, That is great that you were able to treat yourself and monitor at home. I hope you have good luck getting rid of the mice problem.

Carolyn, my husband doesn't listen to well at the doctor's either. I get some sort of vague explanation from him when I ask what they said. But, then he rarely goes to the doctor.

Good evening ladies,

I usually have a rest day on Monday, but this morning I felt like a workout.I did a couple of BBS upper workouts that fried my arms. I then continued on with Cathe’s Lite Calorie crush with the fire loops. I can’t remember the name. I actually did the Crush on my rebounder and loved it. I finished off with a 10 min BBS Bounce. Total time was about 40mins. Not bad considering it was my rest day. :)

Valerie...wow yes that is crazy about the mice!! Not one but 5!! Yikes. Hopefully, you got them all. That is great with the amount of water you drink. I keep a bottle on my nightstand and usually empty it throughout the night. I drink while I workout out and then some throughout the day. I need to do more during the day.

Deb...it has been so hot here this year! I am sure you have been getting the same weather or very similar. We have a little pool that we love. It is large enough that Bob and I can can each have a float and relax. Not sure what we would have done without it this year. My husband is in it more than me if you can believe that! I actually finally stopped subscribing to Cathe Live. Just was not utilizing it as much as I should have. I will sign on again at some point to see what I have been missing.

Diane Sue...congrats on the new tablet AND laptop! Good for you. I love my ipad and can’t be without it. Tablets are just so convenient. Great you still subscribe to KCM. Is the cost still the same? Right now I stream monthly LEKFit and BBS. I still have Suzanne Bowen, only because I purchased an annual membership last September. I still do barre, just not as frequent. I feel LEKfit’s sculpt is very similar to barre. I did just read that Suzanne is back and starting to film new workouts so will be interesting to see this new content. My membership is up late September. I may or may not renew, depending on what she is filming and how often.

Carolyn...did you buy Cathe’s Step Boss? I think of you every time i see it mentioned. Step made it very easy for me not to preorder her current workout! Lol!

I have been very much into Chocolate Chia pudding lately. Just thought I would throw this out there. Been making it pretty much several times a week to bring into work. Love having this at around 3pm for a quick pick me up.

Have a great night all! Hi to Judy.

Lori, nice work today getting in another workout on your rest day. Kelly is still 6.99 for her streaming. She has two new dvds coming out. There is lots of variety with her workouts. I haven't been able to do the newest pyramid upper because of my shoulder and miss being able to do them all. Hopefully it won't be long and I will be back at it. I like chia pudding, but am not a real fan of chocolate pudding or ice cream. I don't know why. I like dark chocolate, but not for those foods. I am more a real vanilla or some vanilla bean in the pudding person. It would be a great pick me up snack.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was a rest day. Today I did 3 -20 minute Peloton Rides. I was off work today and had a massage appointment this afternoon. I have weird hours this week, 5-10 pm tomorrow, 8-noon on Thursday, 4-10 pm on Friday and 12-4 on Sunday.

Deb-I'm sending prayers that you get good results from your culture. I've always been a big water drinker. I try to drink at least 3 16 ounce bottles a day, and sometimes more.

Diane Sue-That's great that you got a new tablet and laptop! Great job with the Raw workouts this week. I was looking at the Raw Pyramids and thinking I should do those again soon. I'm like you, I cut back on liquids when we are traveling or if I have a meeting or something.

Valerie-Nice job with Stacked Upper Body! That is crazy about the mice! I remember when I was in my 20's I started drinking a liter of water first thing in the morning. I can't remember how I got started on that, I think I heard a doctor recommending it on a talk radio program. Staying well hydrated is so important. I wish I could get my husband to drink more water too.

Carolyn-Great job with Rhythmic Step! I hope your husband's dr. visit went well.

Lori-It's so great to have you back! Nice job with the workouts this morning! I am loving the Peloton bike!

Have a good night!

Judy

Good morning,

No workout, still not feeling it.

Valerie, that's really scary. Good that you didn't hesitate to go to Urgent care to see what was wrong. Goos job on Stacked Upper Body and increasing weights!

Carolyn, nice workouts. Yes, men (most anyway) seem to not be too diligent when it comes to their health.

Diane Sue, Nice workouts! isn't it funny that as we get older, we worry more about whether there is an accessible restroom when we go anywhere? LOL...

Lori, nice "rest day"...:). Need you to post your chocolate chia pudding recipe, or link to it. I have started doing overnight oats, which I detested a few years ago when I tried them. Now I reach for them as a mid-morning snack. I can't wait for my new desktop...absolutely do not like using the iPad if I have to type anything seriously...I need a full size keyboard!

Judy, great job on those 3 rides ! Yes, retail has some strange shifts, especially for part time workers. Hopefully things will settle down once the summer ends. When will you be going back to the garden center?

Take care,

Deb-they have me scheduled in the garden center all next week but the week after that they have me split between electrical and garden. I'm going to have to talk to the HR person again and see what I need to do get out of the electrical department completely. There might be another option of me taking a seasonal leave of absence then going back to work garden next spring & summer. That option is starting to look like a good one to me.

I did serious shopping yesterday ...groceries etc since cupboard was bare. Lots of walking, loading, unloading. No formal exercise. so call it a rest day.

Lori, love to have your chocolate chia pudding. I have a Costco size bag of chia seeds with only one vanilla pudding recipe . I don’t think I’d buy chia again, I didn’t like the recipe I bought it for. Whole lotta chia sitting here! I don’t want to toss it if I can find another use for it. I have a vanilla pudding from Giada that is ok but chia was not a big hit here and I have chia seeds for the ages.

Not hard to figure out why women live longer than men! why are men so awful at this? I still hink it’s best to have two sets of eyes and ears at most medical appointments. A lot can get missed from patient side by not saying what needs to be said, and not hearing doctors directions right, or just too much too fast. I usually get a print out of the visit summarizing things. its helpful for selective memory things.

Judy it sounds like they didn’t pay attention when you said "no electrical". good luck with that.

Deb I also am a desktop person. I need the real keyboard and full size screen . Like my iPad but get along fine without a laptop. I always come back and re read any post I made to fix what autocorrect " fixed "for me.

we rode our regular 26 mile ride this morning, 2 hrs 15 min. . it was cool, low clouds to start but ending up sunny and pretty warm.

needless to say, I will not order step boss ….Soooo not for me. not considering for a tenth of a second.

This morning I did the warm up from Body Design, then did Leaner Legs from Cross Train Xpress. My time was 53 minutes with 196 calories burned. Average heart rate was 104 and maximum heart rate was 155.

Diane Sue, nice job with Raw Step Drills and Compound Moves. I hope you were able to get some rest yesterday. My husband was never sick either, not even colds or headaches, which is one reason that he makes such a terrible patient. Now that he has a chronic condition that requires frequent monitoring, I try to stay on top of things.

Lori, nice job with your rest day workout. I’m glad to know that Suzanne is filming again. I was wondering if she would be back. Yes, I did order Step Boss. I’m looking forward to the low impact IMAX and curious about PHA Step. I tried chocolate chia pudding and liked it okay, but I’m not a big chia fan. I just finished the bag that I had and probably won’t buy it again.

Judy, I m sure that a massage felt wonderful. I keep thinking that I will schedule one, but haven’t done so lately.

Hello to Valerie and Deb.

Today I did Lite Cardio Party with the abs, 52 minutes, heart rate average 132, max 177, met 7.0, 312 calories, 3,913 steps. I then did Stretch max stability ball stretch, 21 minutes, 45 calories. Total time was 73 minutes, 357 calories, 4,012 steps. Two grandchildren here today and three tomorrow. :) We made cookies this afternoon and I sat outside with the 5 year old for awhile. Gosh it is hot!! He helped me vacuum with the cordless upright this morning. Keeping him busy. He walked on the tread climber again today. His little legs can go pretty fast on that thing.
I am going to try to get a short workout in tomorrow, but if I don't I am not going to sweat it. I am so tired. I sat down for a little bit while the 5 year old was sitting on the couch with the ipad and started nodding off. I had to get up and get moving. Then when the day was almost done, I had the fun experience of a grandchild with the red lipstick while hanging out in the bathroom. Any advice on getting red lipstick out of grout that was painted with it?? I used Lysol cleaner, Barkeepers friend and a small scrub brush, and a magic eraser. There is still pink there.

Judy, you do well getting the workouts in between the work hours. It seems you are loving the Peloton. I hope they will listen and get you out of the electrical department.

Deb, LOL it is funny how we think about things like restrooms as we get older. My oldest daughter is the same way. So many things change with age. Maybe it is just somewhat being wiser. Like sleep becomes even more important as we realize lack of does not leave us functioning like we should.

Valerie, it would be helpful if we had a recording of the doctors instructions and descriptions. I need to go back to the store for things I missed yesterday, but I will wait till I can go by myself. I used up a jar of chia seeds once and since then, just purchased one of those small packets at Walmart for a use or two. It is okay, but I prefer foods with substance and things like smoothies and puddings just do not fit my taste for texture in my food. If I eat a pudding it is more than likely going to have some dark chocolate chips or walnuts sprinkled into it.

Today I did Rock ‘m Sock ‘m Kickboxing for 48 minutes and 377 calories burned. My average heart rate was 137 and maximum heart rate was 174(?). That was a little high for me, but I don’t know why. I didn’t do anything different today.

Diane Sue, you had a nice workout yesterday. Finishing with Stretch Max was a good choice. I haven’t done that one in quite a while. I hope you can get the lipstick out of your bathroom grout. Kids are so creative with the things they get into when you aren’t looking.

Hello to Valerie, Deb, Judy, and Lori.
