Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 7/3

I had the colonoscopy today. The diet before it is the worst part of it- at least usually. During the procedure I started to choke and they shoved a tube down my throat. It is very painful to swallow yet and my jaw is sore.

I only had 1 medium polyp so I will be able to wait 5 or 10 years for the next one. They will let me know which after they test the polyp.

Unfortunately they could not get to the area of the Crohn's to test it because it was blocked. How can I have no symptoms and be completely blocked?

It's the weekend!

Normal stuff to do around here, Keegan's agility class, then tonight my neice's 40th birthday party.

Joan, hopefully all will be good with the test of the polyp. When I had polyps, I had to have the colonoscopy every 3 years. After 2 times of no polyps, it is now 5 years. I don't think I will ever get to wait 10. I don't know much about Crohn's, so cannot add to that piece. What were they looking for in the area of Chrohn's?

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous. Supposed to be this way all weekend.

Joan, my sympathies.... the diet is hideous, not just the clear liquid day. I normally eat a gigantic amount of fiber and I followed their directions eating none and was bound up by the time of the liquid day, and didn't get rinsed out. Did they give you the Miralax prep or the Golytely? the Golytely is bigger volume and I'm afraid that's what they will want me to do next time. Hope your polyp is the non worrisome kind. I know crohns is a form of inflammatory bowel disease, but a dead end? there must be a 'detour" somewhere since the colon is pretty much a long continuous tube.
I was awake during most of the procedure although after they were done I zonked out longer than they like.

Great weather here for a change. will do a bike ride today and maybe tomorrow. did stationary bike, treadmill, and coremax yesterday.

Deb, the deck dries in a couple hours. we use a stain. the hardest part is power washing it first. because it's very wet here, we get more problems with a slimy surface, moldy/mildew type issues. we need to clean it completely every other year.

lynda, I have that movie on my netflix queue but it's not available yet. finished "eat/pray," and no, it was not very good. not horrible, but pretty silly/stupid. I would not bother with it.
