Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 7/21

Good morning and Happy Saturday!

I took Keegan for another walk/jog before dinner last night and we went a mile! He wasn't too fond of it, but kept on going. He still wants to stop at every tree, and I won't let him. I think he will get the message eventually. Don't get me wrong, when we are first starting out, I walk slower and let him do whatever he wants, so I know he doesn't really have to go. it's just an avoidance thing for sure.

Lori, glad your ankle is ok.. I like the assisted pull up bands, you loop them over the bar in a certain way and they help a lot. I also use the heaviest regular band with handles that I have, looped over the bar and I sit on the floor...that is my favorite way to do them.

Garance, our dogs are the same....in the morning as soon as I stand up and start clearing the breakfast dishes, they both go crazy running around and barking because they know the walk comes next...dogs are so intuitive, and watch every move we make.

Judy, you are not called IronGirl for nothing! Wow some workout! My uncle had one of those driving tests, and he passed, He could drive, had ok reaction time, but he kept getting lost and calling my cousin to help get him home....she took the car away from him after that happened a couple of times.

Hi to Valerie, & Josie,

Agility class today, then maybe out with my cousing....love the weekend!

wow judy, that's like a triathalon ...what a workout!..
Lori, that's good sense to hold off until you're sure things are OK. much better than charging ahead and making a possible injury worse.

I did disk 2 bi's and tris, the bonus core 1. this morning we did a 22 mile bike ride. my knee did get a little sore but I wanted to ride so no fear factor could build up. it was fine. such a pretty morning so we went early but the onshore wind had picked up by 10 so that is an added difficulty riding against it. I am having problems with hand numbness though, so stopped to get some new gloves with more padding and am playing with the tilt of the handle bar. it's a common problem from pressure on the ulnar nerve I guess.

Hi Everyone,

I did an indoor ride this morning while watching Cathe's Road Trip boot camp. That looked like so much fun. I even got off the bike and did pushups when she had the class do them. This afternoon we went to FIL's. DH and BIL worked on the deck and I mowed the lawn. I was going as fast as I could since there was thunder and dark clouds. I managed to get done before the rain started. Unfortunately the rain did derail DH's deck plans so that will have to be finished another day.

Lori-so glad your ankle is ok!

Deb-thanks! I was pretty tired last night, but felt good this morning.

Valerie-thanks! I kind of felt like I did a triathlon after that too.
That's great that you rode 22 miles and did a Cathe workout!

I also have hand numbness and pain from biking. I've used many different padded gloves and they all help somewhat but I've never found one that made a huge difference.

Hi to Lynda and Josie!

Judy

Hi Ladies,

No workout for me today, I'm a bit tired from yesterday's grocery shopping. I walked too much and need to rest my foot.

Valerie and Judy, I used to have the same problem when I first started to ride, but after adjusting the handle bars on my bike the problem went away. I had tried new gloves and added padding to the handle bars before the adjustment and nothing had worked.

Hi to Deb, Lori and Garance!

Josie
