Hi all.

Lazy lazy me...didn't get more than a couple of things done yesterday, spent the time on the couch...have some stomach problems and I don't feel like moving.


Judy, hope your family things are fun ones.

Lori, at least you are getting some exercise in....I am really feeling crummy and not wanting to do anything at all.

It's supposed to get to 87 and very humid today, not great for yardwork, not that I feel like it anyway...

Good afternoon ladies!

I really liked upper body tri sets yesterday. Liked how she incorporates core/abs in it. Since I am not consistent there. After that I went into Tabatacise and started think about Xtrain and how much I enjoyed it. So I have now changed my rotation once again and will do the 30 day undulating + ride and will do T25 the mornings I have weights. So this is my plan right now. Perhaps this will stick!

Deb...perhaps this is what is happening to you. I needed something to excite me and nothing was doing it. Xtrain has great fun factor for me and I seemed to be excited again.

Today is very hot and chester really enjoyed his swim. I did too. DH just got home so we are about to head over to the Inn for a swim and afternoon cocktail and snacks. I will bring my pool noodle and work my legs while in the pool. Cool off and workout at the same time. Gotta love that!
 
Hi Everyone,

The weather was great here this weekend! Sunny and hot and no rain for a change!
Today DH and I did a bike ride at Kensington Metro Park and then tonight I did Burn Sets Bi's & Tri's with Core 2.

Deb-sorry about your stomach problems :( I hope you feel better this week.
DH and I spent the day at FIL's yesterday. We took 2 big loads of garbage/junk to the recycle center. We also took care of the yard work and cleaned off the deck.

Lori-I really like Xtrain too and I agree about the fun factor. All of the Xtrain workouts are fun and I look forward to doing them.

Morning All...

Just finished 35 minutes of CC#5....so humid in the basement, even with a dehumidifier running all night etc. It's like pea soup outside. Shouldn't complain, it could be snow right?

Lori, You are doing great! I wish I could do more workouts a week, I probably could but getting to bed at 10:30 on class nights, is too hard to get up at 4:00...and forget after work, I am so exhausted the last thing I would do is a workout....I know, excuses, excuses. Anyway that leaves me with 4 days and it's hard to do something like X-Train. I should just do them all in a row or something and not worry about how much weight work vs cardio I am getting each week etc.

Judy, what you did on Sat at your FIL's is considered a workout or maybe 2! John and I should have taken the bikes out too, that would have been nice, but it was in the 90's and so humid, even the dogs would not stay outside for more than 5 minutes.

Nothing much here, work, then dog class tonight...ugh...no air conditioning in the hall and it will be sweltering in there....

Hi Ladies,

The kids are still keeping me busy. Today I plan on doing PUB since I'm still not able to jump on my left foot. I tried on my spinning shoes and they feel fine, so tomorrow I will give spinning a try again. I also plan on taking the kids swimming this afternoon.

Judy, taking care of your FIL is a full time job. You are a great DIL!

Lori, sounds like you love to swim. I love the water too and my grand kids would stay in the pool all day if I let them :)

Good afternoon ladies!

No work out this morning. I really worked legs in the pool yesterday so figured I would let them rest up a bit. Tonight I am planning on Xtrain's burn set ch,b,and sh then walk Chester if it is not too hot.

Deb like your dogs it is too hot for him and I think it is unhealthy for him to go when the temps are up there. If I was up as late as you I would not be working out in the morning either! We go to bed early. Usually by 9, read for an hour then fast asleep. Sometimes it is more like read for 5 minutes! I just noticed about your stomach problems. Hope all is well here.

Josie hope that foot heals soon! I love being in the water. Growing up in New Bedford we had plenty of beaches around and easy for us kids to walk/ride our bikes to while mom worked. Currently I live next to an extremely large pond and Chester is very happy about this too!

Judy I agree you are a wonderful DIL. That was a ton of work bring all that stuff to the recycling! Good for you and DH with the pike ride. Sounds like an enjoyable bike ride with DH.

Hi Everyone,

Today was a rest day from exercise. I'll be back at it tomorrow.

We had temps in the high 90's today and it's supposed to stay hot all week.

Deb-thanks! I think I will consider working at FIL's a cross training day. There is so much to do over there, and I am always just exhausted when I get home.
I don't blame you for not doing early morning workouts. I'm not able to get up that early either.

Josie & Lori- thank you! I'm just trying to do as much as I can to help DH and FIL.
Taking care of FIL is starting to feel like a full time job.

Lori-I plan on doing Xtrain Burn Sets C,B & S tomorrow. I love Burn Sets! I wish there was a leg workout on that DVD too.

Good morning,

No workout today, late class last night, and a hot one for sure. We did stop at McDonald's and pick up a couple of ice cream cones that we shared with the dogs on the way home. For 49 cents each, they are not bad, and not too bad in the calorie department either.

Had a good class last night, even with the heat. We didn't do a lot of things that had the dogs runnng around too much so that was good. I did mail my entry last night for the September agility trial, Keegan has moved up to a higher level since he got his first title in June....this should be interesting.

Josie, hope your foot is ok for spinning today.

Lori, you are on the same schedule as I am, I try to get to bed by 9, but it doesn't happen all the time, usually 9:30ish...up by 4:00 on the mornings I do a workout. Chester ( and you!) are so lucky to have a pond that close that you can walk to.

Judy, only skip the workout when I have a class the night before, hence, only do 4 a week right now...with 3 classes a week. I agree, I wish Cahe would have done a Burn Sets leg workout...that one is one of my favorite weight ones.

Good morning Ladies!

Last night was burn sets ch,bk,sh. I had forgotten how much I love these burn sets. This morning I did T25 Ab Circuits. Wow talk about working your core. I am sure this will grow on me. As you know core is my least favorite to work out. I felt good afterwards just not while actually doing the moves! Tonight the plan is Cardio Legs

Deb...I wish Cathe did a burn set legs too! Love the sound of this. Never been a fan of her Xtrain Legs. It is a good workout just not one of my go to ones like Butts and Guts. Love this one! Hysterical you bought ice cream for the doggies. My DH and I would have done the same thing. Yes we love the water. I may go to the pool after working out tonight since it is so hot. After a nice long workout is the best time to swim.

Judy...I agree 100%...what you do at your FIL is a cross training workout! All thepicking up, bagging, lifting, moving...Yup a workout indeed!

Josie...Hope you are healing! Loving T25! Perfect for the mornings!

Hi Ladies,

I ended up doing T25 cardio the modified portion only. I felt like I got a good sweat:). I also did some water jogging in when I took the kids to the pool.

I have a Dr. appointment to make sure I did not break anything. The stealing has gone down but it still hurts. My foot feels better when I wear my running shoes. No heel for now :(

Deb, I also get in the bed by 9 but don't go to sleep until 10:30.

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did Burn Sets, Ch,B,Sh, then I did a 3 mile jog/walk around the neighborhood. It was pretty hot and humid out so I really took it easy. I like hot weather and have always done better in it than in the cold. I am careful though because it would be easy to get dehydrated in this heat. I'm planning on doing some Cathe core work tonight before bed.

Deb-now I want a McDonalds Ice Cream Cone :) I haven't had one of those in years.
It sounds like you have a pretty hectic schedule. It's great that you can get 4 workouts in too.

Lori-I agree with you about Xtrain Legs, I like it, it's fun, but I don't feel like it's that intense of a leg workout. I downloaded Gym Style Legs last night, so I might try using that one as my "Burn Sets" for legs. I should look at Butts and Guts too.

Josie-I hope nothing is broken. If the swelling is down, that's a good sign. Good luck at the doctor's office.

Good morning all,

I woke up today with a horrible sinus headache, must be the weather...ugh...anyway, it did get into the 90's here yesterday,and it was 77 at 5:00 am....unbelievable.

Judy, I had not had a McDonald's ice cream cone ( or anything else for that matter!) in years. For 49 cents, it's a steal, and the dogs love it. It was nice too right after being in the hot training hall for an hour working the dogs. I think you will like Gym Style legs a lot.

Lori, I saw your post in the Open forum on people saying stuff to you about being obsessed about working out....why don't people just mind their own business?

Josie, good luck with the DR apt...I hope it was just a sprain...if the swelling is down, that's a good sign right?

Garance, Valerie, hope you are having a great time!

Good afternoon!

So hot again today. never did Cardio Leg Blast last night. Ended up meeting DH at pool and I kicked and kicked with my noodle! (sounds funny!) Felt like a great workout and then some. This morning I did T25 Lower Focus then will back at the pool after work. Just to hot to work out in the evenings. Been in the high 90's here! Have not even taking Chester at all for a walk. Way to hot for him.

Deb...yeah some people just do not get it. Funny thing is I do not really talk about my workout ethics to everyone in the office. Other than the few girls that workout with me at lunch time. We all engage in the conversation and we all workout. So whatever.

It has been ages since I had a McDonald's Ice cream!

Judy I have GS legs but have not done it yet. Let me know your thoughts. I LOVE LOVE Butts and Guts! My favorite leg workout. I have even been know to do the ad work in this one too.

Hot, Hot class last night...we only worked the dogs ( I alternated them) for about 30 minutes then left...too much for me and them.

Lori, now see, again we all have different tastes in workouts....I hated Butts & Guts and sold it on Ebay...LOL...

That's funny about selling Butts and Guts Deb! The first Cathe DVD I bought was High Reps. I got it a couple of years ago, but wasn't quite prepared for Cathe workouts yet so I gave it away. I'm probably going to have to buy it again :eek: now that I am ready to try it!
 
Good afternoon ladies!

Slept in this morning. Had a great workout in the pool so did not want to over do it. Felt nice to sleep until 6AM. So all is good. Going to try for cardio leg blast again once the house cools down. I keep the air on but it does not run full blast until we get home. Just enough to keep our doggies comfortable. :)

Deb...I bet class was a huge challenge with this heat. Do not blame you for cutting it short. Funny about B&G's. Yup everyone is different.

Judy...I have High Reps and have yet to do this one. I bought this I think late 2010 and was planning to do when my arm recovered (had some bicep tears) but I have yet to do it. Perhaps I will do this instead of cardio leg blast and try it out. I will let you know my thoughts on it if I do.

time for me to check back in. we had a so-so trip. weather was nice but too windy to go out on the boat. WAY too windy! not going out on the ocean when it's that rough.

I never feel like there is anything to do at the coast. I don't enjoy lying in the sun ( not for more than 10 min), no decent trails to hike or ride, and traffic is too heavy and distracted for road biking IMO. we stayed 2 days and planned on going to a state park after but it was too busy. the good weather stretch has gotten everyone who can be on vacation taking time. so we came home and road biked, and then got into garden work and window washing. went to yoga this morning.
the good part is we have a great spot to park our camper there, and if we can figure out something to do it's a lovely cool spot when everywhere else is frying pan hot. and BIL & SIL have a decent size boat we can go out fishing on if we ever hit calm weather.

It's pleasantly warm here, not hot and humid like so much of the rest of the country.

Josie, hope your ankle turns out OK. Strong work, Judy, on the clean up efforts. so hard to clean out other peoples "stuff".

I have butts and Guts but haven't used it in a long time. I remember being so-so about it but it's been so long I'd have to re-do it to be sure. I was using Lower Body Blast as my leg workout this past winter. I like High Reps. only complaint.... it was hard to change equipment as fast as the disk moved. I don't have a huge amount of open floor space and do NOT want to trip over things and break my neck.

Haven't been to mcdonalds for anything in probably 15 years!. I did like their ice cream cones. as I remember they were ice milk and not a huge calorie blast out. but that was a LONG time ago.
 
Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I walked 5 miles and did Core Max workout #2; this morning I walked/ran 4 miles. I carry a 22 ounce bottle with Powerade Zero, and a couple of clif shot energy gels when I go out. It was so hot today that I didn't stay out very long.

I previewed Gym Style Legs last night. It looks like a great workout! I think I'm going to like it a lot. I'll be doing it tomorrow or this weekend.

Lori-How did you tear your bicep? That sounds very unpleasant :(

Valerie-I haven't spent much time on the coast, but I would probably feel the same way. I'd rather be able to bike and run or hike on vacation. I've never been one for laying in the sun that much.

We have another Saturday of cleaning at FIL's coming up. My SIL and her family are coming to visit on Wednesday and we want to have the house nice for them.

Another sweltering day yesterday, but better than winter....I don't mind the cold of winter, it's the snow, ice, puting on tons of clothes, etc etc. Are we ever happy with the weather?

Judy, I have High Reps, and did it for a bit, I remember liking it, I should check it out again. I hope it's not too hot tomorrow for your cleaning at FIL's...does he have AC?

Lori, nice to sleep in right? When people hear that you slept in until 6:00 am they look at you like your're crazy right? LOL...but that IS sleeping in...

Valerie, where exactly were you on the coast? I don't like lying in the sun either, but sure can sit on a shady porch reading a book....my idea of vacation...LOL...Yes, the McD's cones are about 170 calories I think, at least that's what comes up in MFP when I log them.

Hi Ladies,

I have my Dr. appointment today. The foot is getting back to normal but want to make sure there is nothing fractured. I miss the Macdonals ice cream cones :(. I'm lactose intolerant now and can't have it anymore. We are supposed to have a heat wave, so we will probably go swimming after the Dr. appointment.

Went shopping yesterday for an outfit for my DD. she has a second interview with a large marketing firm on Monday :). One of my friends at UCLA remembered that she has a degree in communications and told her SIL and my DD sent him her CV and he was very impressed.

Can't wait to get back to my workouts and exercise schedule!
