Morning all,

Today I did STS chest & back, week 3 repeating. The wedding was nice, but we left really early because John's ear could not take the loud music etc.

Nothing much going on around here today, just HouseMax, because everything I usually do on Saturday was not done.

It looks like a gorgeous day today. I wish Kelsey was ok, it would be a good day for a long walk with dogs, but she is not up to it yet. 11 more days in the sling.

Have a good day and start to the week!

Deb

Hi Deb and any later posters--

This morning I did disk 34 for the second time for chest and back (67 min.).

Last night DH and I went to the Thai Garden and I had sushi. Yummy! And definitely not fattening.

Beautiful day here today. DH is thrilled and is really going to push his haycutting this week before we go on vacation. I am so looking forward to seeing him relax a bit.

How are you doing on meso 3, Deb? Do you feel like you have gained some strength?

Almost done with the Plath and food piece. Should finish before vacation.

Hi,

Just wanted to get this thread back to the top, so others can find it.

Garance, still on Meso 3, week 3. repeating it since I only did one of the workouts last week. Only this week and next week, and I am done with sts..

see you in the am..

Hi ladies,

I just got back. I will read last week and visit tomorrow.

I am ready to start lifting again and Monday is start of Meso 3.

Monday

Good Morning all,

No workout this morning, I could not sleep last night no matter what I did, then this morning at 3:50, I decided to turn the alarm off to get some sleep, no dice! tossed around until 5:00, then just got up. I need to sleep!

Joan, welcome back!

Hi Ladies,

No wo for me today. I'm taking rest days on Friday and Mondays. I'm still at 166lbs, but yet I feel thiner. I have my nice Jessica visiting this week and I brought her in to work today. I might take a day off and take her to Venice Beach during the week.

Will be back later.

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, and Joan (welcome back!)--

This morning I did Gay Gasper's Cardio Express--step and core (70 min.).

Deb, is it insomnia or dh snoring? I tend to wake up once when DH gets up at 5, and then I go back to sleep until 6:15, but I do remember when hot flashes would destroy me every night. Don't want to go back there! Then my doctor gave me a prescription for trazodone, and that seemed to work really well and I would wake up soaking, but not in the middle of the night.

Josie on Venice Beach--how cool is that?! I was there ages and ages ago when I had a grant from AFI (American Film Institute) to attend some talks on Hollywood filmmaking. Met Ernest Lehman (wrote the script for Hitchcock's N by NW and Jerry Goldsmith who did the music for a lot of big soundtracks--Alien). Fun!

Joan, how was your vacation?

Hi Cathy!

Hi ladies,

Vacation was good. It's always a culture shock in Portland. In most of the local diners they don't give you sweetner. I know but I'm addicted to equal. You would think in that environment the food would be healthier. Lots of vegans but not a lot of fresh vegetables. And everything seems greasier.

On Wednesday we flew to Las Vegas since Chris wasn't going to be around. I came home with an extra $2500. so I was happy. We went to see a group of 4 Australians who sang Motown.

I just finished first disc in Meso 3. I was able to add 2lbs to suggested weights.

Tuesday

Good Moring all!

I did a 40 minute I-Tread this morning, it feels good to be up and sweating! Slept a lot better last night.

Josie, you must be gaining muscle, which contrary to popular belief, does not "weigh more than fat"....it does take up less space though, so your clothes should feel more lose.

Garance, I am not sure what is going on, it is really not night sweats as much as stress and thinking about things. We are having some issues at work in one of my areas, so that is one thing, then DH has what we hope is an inner ear infection, He has to get a CT scan and MRI Thursday to rule out tumor or MS.. Then the scare we had with MIL, this past week, did not help. Just stuff.

Joan, welcome back, and WTG on the winnings! Kind of confusing having Vegans without vegetables!

Hi to Cathy and Linny, (if you are out there)!

Deb

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did disk 40 for legs (62 min.). One more disk to go, and then I am finally done with STS for awhile. I started at the beginning of February, so I am more than ready for a break.

Wow, Joan, how did you win all that money? Slots? Blackjack? Roulette? I have never been to Portland, but I have heard it is very beautiful in that part of the country.

Deb, it sounds like you can't stop thinking, worrying. That happens to me sometimes--but mostly when a class is not going well and I keep going over and over it. Hate that.

Back to my writing. Almost done with this piece. The title: "Lucent Figs, Suave Veal Chops, and Foundering Crackers: Sylvia Plath and Food." It's actually pretty funny at times (pats herself on the back).

Hi Ladies,

It is a Kevin wo today plus cardio. It has been very hot here in LA. It has been in the 80's near the beach. It is summer time finally.

Deb, you are right about my fat turning into muscle. Regarding sleepless nights, I'm like you. If I have things that I'm worried about I don't get much sleep.

Joan, I also want to know how you won all that money. I will be going to Vegas from August 8th trough the 10th.

Garance, I got my books yesterday and can't wait to start reading them.

Cathy, How are you doing?

Josie

hi ya'll, well, yeah, i feel better today. no workout, though, the grandkids came over and we rode this monrning and my granddaughter and i went for a hike down the creek, (no water in it, too dry), and wandered thru the bamboo forest and then, she got in the water trough to cool off. by that time i was sweatin' bad. so, this was a nice day off. it is nice to just relax. i'm sure i'll workout tomorrow, do a cardio. i just got my new cathe bands and a new stability ball, that was supposed to be cherry red, but it sure looks pink to me. i hate PINK!!! i already have a pink one, i want a red one. so, i emailed them and told them i don't think it is red and i didn't get the foot pump w/it either. i hope they get back to me. have you ever ordered anything from cathe?

Hi ladies,

I did Drill Max premix 1 and 2 miles on treamill.

I only play video poker. I can win at Sahara and Paris. I always lose at Bally's and Harrahs.

I am actually keeping track of my calories again. That's the only way I can lose. I'm also wearing armband so I hope I can lose this week.

Ds and dil are taking Elliot to San Diego tomorrow. I'm glad they are flying American instead of Southwest. SW has had a few problems lately. I hope they don't have a long delay at airport. I think all of the people in for all star game will be leaving then.

Wednesday

Good Morning,

Bad night again, probably because I ATE TOO MUCH FOOD last night..ugh..no workout of course, I will have to do 2 STS in a row to complete this weeks Meso..

John and I are taking my assistant, her husband and a person that is in town from our Champlain office to the exibition at the Science Museum called Body World. I got the tix last night. Has anyone seen the advertisement for this? unreal!

Garance, yes I wake up and immediately start thinking of things and can't go back to sleep. This usually happens a couple of times a night. Love the title of the piece!

Josie, which books did you get? Did you get The Help?

Cathy, sorry about the mix up with your stability ball. I have never had a problem with ordering from Cathe's site. I never did see a red stability ball! The color wouldn't bother me but not having the pump would!

Joan, I also started tracking calories using Fitday.com. That was how I lost 24 pound previously, of which I have gained 10 back! You must be a poker card genius!

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies,

I'm down another pound, 165. I will be spinning this evening 45 min. I realy enjoyed my wo last night. It went by so fast, but I was very productive.

Deb, I got "The Help" and The Sister Stories". I'm almost finished with the book that I'm reading now and can't wait to read The Help.

Garance, Almost vacation time!

Joan, I love playing at Paris also. I alway win there. I play rullete and craps.

Hi Cathy. It sounds lik you had a good time with the GK's. How old ar they?

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did Amy Bento's Kickbox Surge, but the premix without the surges (50 min.), followed by Cathe's no equipment abs (20 min.).

Deb, I know how much you like ebay, so maybe you will like this site: www.propertyroom.com. I heard about it on the Today show and bid on a ring--big piece of blue lapis in 18 karat white gold. The price, including both my bid and shipping, came to 26 dollars. It is GORGEOUS! It's a police site for stolen goods that they cannot return--from places all over the country. I looked at the jewelry, but there's other stuff there as well. That exhibition sounds fascinating. Will you be travelling through the body--a virtual space kind of thing?

Josie, congrats on losing another pound! Enjoy your new books--I could not put them down once I started. I am just starting the newest John Lescroart. I have not been all that enthused with his last couple, but the early ones were great, so I am not giving up on him yet. I also just finished a C.J. Box mystery, and I really liked it so I will probably get all of his.

You must be a really good poker player, Joan. I will have to check the premixes on Drill Max for when I get back from vacation, because then I am going to do a whole month of circuits, and I plan on lining them up for ACTION!

Cathy, is it still impossibly, intolerably hot down there? Do you know the film, Thelma and Louise? Louise hates Texas, and even though she and Thelma are trying to get to Mexico, she won't go through Texas.

YEOW!!!! i am beat. i did 60m. of aerobics, it was actually like a circuit , i guess. cardio segment, lite wt. segment. did 3 of each, and then added 7m. of boot camp drills that i found online. great workout! but, i got so shaky in the middle of it i had to stop and eat half a banana. ???? what is up w/that?
anyway, i am done!!!!

Thursday

Good Morning!

Today I did the Plyo Leg workout from Meso 3 Week 3. I just wanted to see what these were like. I modified a lot of the plyo moves but still think I got the effect they wanted:eek:.

Josie, WTG on the weight loss! ;).."your" Kevin sure knows what works for you.

Garance, thanks for that link. It looks interesting. I did not read all the info..can you use Paypal to pay for things? Did you read "Three Weeks to Say Goodbye" by C.J Box? This is a stand alone one he did that was a good fast relaxing read. I like his series with the game warden named Joe Pickett, but you really have to read these in order or you won't know what is going on. The connect and refer to things from past books etc.

Here is the link for the exibition that we are going to Saturday:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAVt7h0zdxs

Cathy, sounds like you did a great cardio workout. How did you know a bananna was what you needed?

Have a good day ladies,

Deb

Hi Ladies,

Today is my Kevin wo and 25 min of cardio. After the wo Kevin has us doing a cardio, for me is the stair stepper on Tuesday, bike on Thursday and Saturday I go to my spinning class after the wo.

I took my 12 year old niece to my spinning class last night and she tought that it would be easy, but was she surprised. I know that she will be sore today. She is staying with me this week for vacation. She wanted to get away from her 2 sisters.

My DD is taking her to Knotts Berry Farm after work today. They love rollercoasters.

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, and Cathy--

This morning I did disk 36 for the second time (66 min.) for bis, tris, and sh. Glad to put it away. Next week I am off, tra la!

Wow, Deb, so the plyo legs is not so bad? I haven't even looked at them. I read "Free Fire" with Joe Pickett, yes, in Yellowstone. I could tell there were some back stories, but I didn't have too much trouble. You might really like Lescroart and his characters in San Francisco. Courtroom dramas and mysteries to be solved. I would have nightmares if I went to that exhibition. Creepy! I have serious problems with mummies, much less these corpses. I'm not sure about paypal. I paid with a credit card. When I get back from vacation, I'm going to start looking for a tennis bracelet at that site. I have wanted one for a very long time.

Josie, I bet your niece is impressed by what kind of shape you are in. My aunts were all in the June Cleaver mold--aprons, meticulously groomed hair, and housework for exercise.

How's the calorie-counting going, Joan?

Do you have any of Cathe's circuits, Cathy?
