I've gone to different yoga classes with 5 different instructors. most places (around here) offer a first class free. I showed up one day expecting to be a stranger. everyone was nice and even "knew" 2 people there. I didn't want to be in a class filled with 20-somethings so weekday mornings are best. the weekend/evening classes tend to be larger with more young people. The instructor sets the tone/type of yoga, how strenuous, how "serious" etc. my current instructor is by far the best I've had. she's 40-ish and in terrific shape, does not stick to easy. most of the group 40-65 but we're not wimps! and we have a lot of fun.
I tried to get friends to try yoga with me but never could get anyone so went by myself. I mean, how bad could it be?? I'm glad I gave it a try. I had tried at home with tapes but didn't feel like I accomplished anything. I don't have a mirror and never could tell if I was doing things correctly.
yesterday was a great class. later I did bike and treadmill. we have a long weekend so I won't be around until probably thursday. we're going east, camping and mt biking and hiking.
Deb, nice trick getting the only non AC cab! Glad you had a good trip. Too bad DH is still suffering. the "ear rocks" we were talking about last week are a pretty common problem that causes vertigo. there's something called the Epley maneuver where the doctor would rotate his head in a certain pattern. this moves the particles in the semicircular canals from where they are to somewhere else. I don't know why the particles cause vertigo, but it might be worth asking about. sometimes it needs to be repeated a couple times but it's not invasive or complicated. Hope he can get to see a new ENT person if it's not better.
Good news on a puppy too.
my cholesterol has crept up too, the HDL(good) is quite high. the LDL (bad) is low so I'm not worried and my diet is good. gotta go...more later.
