Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 6/3

Linda, it should be so easy for everyone!! DH can floss like that, I can't. My teeth are pretty tight, and they are "deep". my jaw does not come forward very much so my teeth are 'way back in there". it's VERY hard to get in my mouth with fingers, plus as soon as I open that wide, the saliva starts running and I drool like crazy sliming everything... I'm painting a very flattering picture of myself !! I have very good teeth though, and I make sure I take care of them.

Lots of people, if they floss 2x daily, use tools. makes it much easier. I can see what I'm doing. I resent pharmacies discontinuing reusable ones in favor of disposables. I still use disposable floss, but I can use the kind I prefer.
Deb, I'll post a link to the tool, made by butler. It's very simple really & works well if you are floss-challenged.

Linda, bummer on the cold. Mine often are like that, so I take days off at the beginning t in hopes of avoiding the full bore nasty head, nose, throat congestion. sometimes it works sometimes not. Get some rest.

Deb, there are a couple brands, but this is the one I've always used. nothing complex.

Good morning and Happy Weekend!

It was a long week for me, it seemed like it would never end.

Garance, I hope you feel better today.

Valerie, thanks for the link!

As for little Dodger, please vote as many times as you can. He gets $500 that can be used for his medical expenses, and the American Fox Terrier Rescue group will get $500 as well. You can vote at least once a day, I found that I can vote up to 3 times!

Good morning. I did a mile on the treadmill and then STS disk 2. ripped through it much faster than disk 1. I'm pleased.... I haven't lost much strength over the year. the yoga class does a lot of upper body work, plus the pushups and some of the LIS .... I've maintained well. Still backed down slightly on weight on some moves but nothing very significant. still can't do "real" pull ups or chin ups but I expected that.
I'm suspicious of the cross body tricep move as maybe being the source of my injury. that feels like the spot that was wounded, so used 10 rather than 12 lbs one and was very careful. it's OK today.

Garance Hope you feel better soon.

Remembering when I was at U of I makes me feel old. I was the only girl in one of my accounting classes. The professor would go down the rows and and ask everyone but me a question every day. I don't think he said one word to me the whole semester. I should have been insulted but at the time I thought it was kind of nice. I did get a good grade. You are right that this generation will not understand that time.

I had some sad news at dinner. We went to a Japanese steakhouse because are old favorite waitress is working there now. She told us that one of the older waiters from the old restaurant missed work without calling in and after a few days they called the police. The found him dead of a heart attack. It seemed sad that if his 2nd work place hadn't called the police it's no telling how long it would have taken to find him. I don't think he was much older than 50 but was the shape you would imagine for an Italian waiter. I didn't really know him but it just seems like someone should notice when you die.
