Cathlete
good morning.
we had an on-again/off-again plan to do a trip this week, and now it's on again. we are taking the camper so I will almost surely be out of range some of the time. depends on weather and spring is not predictable. its a little early for some things, but we expect this will be a tough fire year so we want to go early before smoke becomes an issue. plus people are traveling again after a 2 year hiatus so we hope that kids still in school helps keep the crowds down. plus going to less known places.

Went old school this morning and pulled out Rhythmic Step. Why have I not done this one in years. I do think it's the best straight step workout she's done. I'll put it in my rotation again in a couple weeks and then add the finished combos to my finished step workout.

Valerie I hope your trip goes smoothly and you beat the crowds. Fires are so scary. We don't usually get big ones in Michigan, but they've been fighting one in northern lower Michigan for a couple days and it's still only 30% contained. They've had burning bans across most of Michigan for the last week at least, but apparently this was lightening.

Good morning. Today I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga Morning Energy practice for 18 minutes. Valerie, I hope that you have a safe drive. Definitely more people traveling.

Cathy, great job with Rhythmic Step. I enjoy doing many of Cathe’s older workouts.

Hello to Judy and Diane Sue. Have a wonderful day everyone.

cathy, burn bans don't always work. people still toss cigarettes out of car windows, power poles and lines still fall from wind. lightning strikes. metal sparks. the idiots who do burn piles and aren't prepared with shovels and water source. sigh..... cant fix careless or stupid.

it is so wet here it seems silly to talk about fires, but it is already fire season for much of the country. in fact, it is almost never NOT fire season anymore.
I am doing an indoor workout this afternoon. not sure what yet. plan on mt biking and hiking over the next 2 weeks if all goes on plan.

ETA did rev'd up rumble and 6 pack abs.

This morning I did To the Max—wow! My time was 51 minutes with 364 calories burned. My average heart rate was 134 and maximum heart rate was 158. For those who don’t remember it, this workout has step, step Tabata,, HiiT, compound legs, and core. I used a lower step, kept the cardio low impact, and skipped a couple of the HiiT exercises. It was a great workout.

Valerie, have you already traveled or is that something you are doing later this week. Nice job with Rev’d Up Rumble and six pack abs.

Hello to Judy, Cathy, and Diane Sue.

Did Live Fit Tower Bootcamp 2 this morning. Cardio, lower, upper, core. A really good workout. I'll have to try the first one soon. Long workout at just over an hour. Might look and see what other lives she's done with the tower.

Valerie I follow several counties and scanners for areas I travel through going north and there have been calls where authorities have gone out to deal with people refusing to put out their fires in fire pits. Fires are scary no matter where, but people here aren't used to dealing with them and the public is going to turn in any and everybody. Great job getting in Rev'd Up Rumble and abs.

Carolyn nice job with the yoga and WOW indeed on To the Max! You are braver than I am am. LOL Both To the Max and CrossFire intimidate me in their entirety. I'm sure it's more in my mind than reality but still. I went to using just the platform for step a few years ago. It dawned on me that Cathe is at least 4" taller than I am and even when I use the platform that's two inches more for my height than she's using for hers!

Today I wanted to do lower body to build some strength there. I went to the Raw channel on my fire tv and purchased the subscription through Amazon for the 8.99. I am sad I lost my 6.99 subscription I originally purchased. I checked several times more and Kelly's website is still having warnings. I can't go make sure my payment info is off of there. I had a fun time with the rehearsal dinner saturday evening that was on a rooftop downtown. Then my granddaughter's wedding was beautiful. They were married outside in a garden setting and then we all went inside for the festivities.
I did some of Raw Box and Pump 5 till it got to snatches and I stopped. This was 12:37 minutes, 72 calories, 845 steps. So I did Raw Burn Out: lower body, which was 51:14 minutes for me. I used the Garmin strength setting and forgot to take it off rest when I did some of the supersets. Calorie burn 142, heart rate 99/132, 760 steps. Total time was 65 minutes, 214 calories, 1,605 steps.
This was supersets done 3 times each Kelly uses 20# for most of the weight work, I used 12# and it is timed

squats 12# dbs 10, 13,13 reps
superset with body weight squats up onto toes standing 46, 35, 30 reps

reverse lunges 12# dbs 12,12,12 reps
superset with no weight reverse lunge arms overhead 11,12,12 reps

Plies single db 12# 12,18,13 reps
superset with plie pops 12 reps, 10 reps, 10 reps

front lunge/side lunge 12# dbs 7 reps, 8 reps 8 reps
superset with body weight side to side lunge with reach 28, 24, 26 reps

bridges no weight figure 4 bridge right 25 reps left 25 reps
leg extended up 24 reps right 24 left
leg extended up 25 reps right then 25 left

Today I did Ramped Up Upper Body and RWH Bonus Abs 1. I tried to match Cathe's weights as much as I could. I stayed with 25 lbs for one arm row and pullovers, and 15 lbs for chest flies.

Carolyn-Awesome job with To The Max! Wow is right. I'm with Cathy on that one and Crossfire. I should try them but they are very intimidating to me.

Valerie-Great job with Rev'd up Rumble and 6 pack abs!

Cathy-Great job with Live Fit Tower Bootcamp 2! There are a couple of Live Fit Tower workouts that I really liked, Fit Tower Tone & Tighten (#182) and Fit Tower Inferno (#224).

Diane Sue-Great job with the Raw workouts. I'm sorry that you lost your subscription and had to resubscribe. I haven't been doing Raw workouts lately but I do look at the Raw site and the apps regularly and I haven't had any problems yet. I did see that her Coffeyfit website got hijacked and was redirecting to malicious sites. Your granddaughter's wedding sounds beautiful!

Did Boxing Cardio and Stability Ball Abs today. Was reminded that I really don't like floor cardio. Step, Hiit, Kickboxing, Boxing I'm good, but cardio that involves lots of jacks, jogging and scissors...not so much. Got a good workout just didn't enjoy a fair bit of it. Then Mopsy decided to "help" with the ab portion. His idea of helping is to drape himself across me and take any movement that moved my arm or ball down his body as being petted. LOL

Not sure how the next couple days will play out for workouts. I'm moving my shopping day tomorrow, as Derek is going with a friend to the Grand Rapids Zoo on Thursday, so I'm taking him to her place, getting a much needed oil change, and then going to walk at the zoo. Should have time to workout Thursday as we don't need to leave till a bit after 9. Just have to get up and do it.

Diane Sue great job with the Raw workouts. Too bad your subscription got messed up. That's great that your granddaughters wedding went well!

Judy nice job with Ramped Up Upper Body and RWH Bonus Abs 1.

This morning I did Gym Style Back, Shoulders, and Biceps. My time was 53 minutes with 269 calories burned. Average heart rate was 121 and maximum heart rate was 157.

Cathy, great job with Live Fit Tower Bootcamp and Boxing Cardio and Stability Ball Abs. Yes, To the Max I Crossfire are intimidating! When I saw To the Max on the rotation my initial thought was “nope”. But I thought about and looked at my worksheet again I decided to go for it. I’m glad that I did and it was not intimidating once I started. Like you, I don’t use risers with the step portion.

Diane Sue, nice job with Raw Box and Pump and Raw Burnout. That’s terrible about Kelly’s website being hacked. Your granddaughter’s wedding sounds like a lovely event.

Judy, great job with Ramped Up Upper Body and RWH Bonus Abs.

Waving hello to Valerie.

I woke up with a terrible headache and dizziness this morning, one of the weather related headaches that I get occasionally. I didn’t feel like working out but I decided to do JS One Mile of Motivation just to get moving. That was 15 minutes and 115 calories burned. Average heart rate was 139 and maximum heart rate was 153. My headache is better, but not completely gone away.

Have a great day everyone.

Today I did a 30 minute Peloton ride and 20 minutes of Peloton lower body work.

Carolyn-I'm sorry about your headache. I get weather related headaches too and they are very unpleasant.
Great job getting JS One Mile of Motivation in.

Cathy-Nice job with Boxing Cardio and Stability Ball Abs.

Hi to Diane Sue and Valerie

we have done a range of things and got to our house this afternoon. did one fairly easy ride on monday, 2.5 hours on easy terrain. stayed and had dinner with friends at their new home location for the first time. they moved a few years ago but with the covid issues we never visited before . then drove much of yesterday. camped overnight at a "not open yet" campground. either Dh was mistaken about dates, or they didn't open on time. we are self contained so it was quiet and worked out ok. then we did a seriously lovely but hard ride today. elevation around 6600 feet so it was tough. lots of stopping for air on the uphill parts. I'm not acclimated yet. about 2 hrs and 15 min. really nice single track on the continental divide trail.

bummer on the headache carolyn. its worth doing "something" to see if it helps. we stayed at friends house monday night and were talking until late, and tuesday there was no internet at all so I've been MIA.

too bad about KKM's website. never can understand why evil people get a thrill out of messing with websites. I suppose its profitable for them in some way.

diane sue good to know the wedding went off without a hitch.

weve been fighting mice who kept getting in our crawlspace. everyone around here has mouse issues especially fall/winter. this time we had zero in the crawlspace so it looks like we found and closed their mode of entry. a very slightly warped board underneath the siding. too soon to say "victory" but close. also found a spot where an owl has been roosting and picking off mice, right outside our kitchen door. set up a trail camera to see if we can see him. we've had great horned owls around before but thi is really close.

Today I did CDorner Step and strength with mini bands (loops0, 204 calories, 48 minutes, heart rate 118/146, 2016 steps. I liked this as it was 80's music alternating 3 min step with 3 min band work. Band work was lower one set then the next was upper etc. with step in between. It had one short push up segment on the step and I did kneel push-ups shallow. I will get that strength eventually. PT said around 6 months I can build up into the planks and stuff. That is one month away. It ended with abs and stretch. I then did Coffey Fit Raw Day 5 strength stretch workout, stopping at the down dog which I did do, but not raising leg up behind. This was 26 minutes, 43 calories, 315 steps. Total time was 71 minutes, 244 calories, 2,059 steps. Doing the research, I am thinking the knee catch is due to the arthritis and is a catch that does not stay and one can get out of it, but it is painful and the body is fighting injury. Usually caused from inflammation, injury or swelling. It is not what they call fully locked. Sometimes a piece of cartilage or something can be floating around and get caught and with movement release as well. It just didn't fit some of the other things that would be more constant. Things like torn meniscus etc. Plus I have had that experience and the lockouts from that when I had surgery for it. So I know it is different.

Carolyn, great job with To the Max. That one is tough. I am sorry you had a weather-related headache. I get those sometimes. That was a good choice today for a workout that would get you moving.

Cathy, I think all of Cathe's Fit Tower workouts that are live are around an hour. So are the Advanced dvds unless you use the premixes. It has been quite some time since I subscribed to Cathe Live though. I don't like floor cardio that has drills running across the room touching down and jumping forward. I also do not like floor cardio with a mat. I forget content on some of those and do them and wish I had remembered.
I hope the zoo walk was nice. My dog does the same thing as Mopsy. She lies her head on me while I am on the floor and I try to keep working. Then she will put her paw out like she is trying to cuddle closer. I got a new Cathe yoga mat and I have to shut her out as the first time I used it her claws made some little davits in the mat. I feel guilty closing the door.

Judy, nice work with Ramped Up Upper Body and the Peloton workout that you did today. I have worried about responding at first to the email I got supposedly from Kelly saying they could not get the funds for my subscription and to update my payment info. It gave a link and took me to what seemed to be Kelly's website. I checked and my payment info was correct. I emailed her and never heard anything. Then I got another email saying my subscription was cancelled. Several times I checked her website and got warnings so I could not check my payment info. Since signing up through fire tv my payments will come out through my Amazon account. Her website looks okay now. I checked and it has my new payment info and I did not find the old there other than it did acknowledge that I had a previous subscription. I have to pay the 8.99 now, but I feel better about the payment method. If I still had facebook I would have checked the group there to see if there was any mention of the problem. I wonder if anyone else lost their subscriptions. I really like her stuff and did not want to lose the subscription.

Valerie, I can tell you really enjoyed your ride today. That is nice that you were able to get together with friends. I saw an owl sitting out on our fence post. I thought it was odd as I have not seen any in a long time. My husband said it was probably finding mice out in the field behind us. I took a picture, but even pulling close I could not get a real good look at it. I find them fascinating.
The warning on my computer for Kelly's site said phishing and possible gaining financial info which worried me.

The wedding was not completely without a hitch as the groom signed the wedding certificate without his full name or something. Poor kids were so upset as they were supposed to leave early in the morning on their honeymoon and couldn't get it fixed before. But, luck has it, her best friend's dad is a Oklahoma court justice and he helped them out and said it was a legal document as they fixed it. So problem solved. I am sure that will be a memory from now on. They did an awesome dance routine at the reception that they had worked up with a medley of different songs. I don't know how he kept from stepping on the gown.

This morning I did Gym Style Chest and Triceps. That was 49 minutes and 223 calories burned. Average heart rate was 113 and maximum heart rate was 150. My headache is gone today, thankfully.

Judy, great job with the 30 minute Peloton ride and 20 minute lower body work.

Valerie, your trip sounds very enjoyable with the stops for riding and dinner with friends.

Diane Sue, great job with CDORNER Step and Strength and the Coffeyfit Raw stretch. You are doing so well with your recovery. It’s hard to believe that it’s almost six months since the surgery. I hope that your knee issue feels better soon.

Hello to Cathy. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Today I did Some of Raw Cardio Crush 2, which was the warmup and two rounds of the jacks and jogs and decided that was not for me right now. I think they are done in tabata rounds. I went on to do Raw SLim Sculpt #2, first round of the moves and warm up, 24 minutes, 93 calories, heart rate 107/125, 1,567 steps. I just counted those two together.
I then did Raw Box and sculpt 28 minutes, heart rate 126/152 heart rate, 147 calories, 682 steps. This one worked well for me. I did not use egg weights or other weight for the boxing and I used 5 and 8 for the strength since most was upper and lower at the same time. I finished with Cathe Perfect 30 Flow Strength and Flexibility, 34 minutes, 64 calories, 214 steps. I also did some rotator cuff work from PT.
Total time was 86 minutes, 304 calories, 2,463 steps.

Carolyn, nice work with Gym Style Chest and Triceps today. I am glad that your headache is gone today. That knee only hurts till I get it unlocked.

No workout yesterday as I shopped. Took Derek's to his friends and then went to get an oil change. It's been a very long time since I did an instant oil change, been going to the dealership. Was far more informative than the dealership and when he pulled the glove box out and down to get to the cabin filter, I discovered where several things I'd thought I'd lost were...behind the glove box. LOL Had him just leave everything on the seat so I could sort it and get rid of some things. Then I went to the zoo and walked for an hour. Tons of kids/adults on field trips and while that was okay at Toledo, I mainly just wanted to walk, and found the crowds far more annoying. I much prefer it in the summer/fall when I can go early and there are few people. Going again in a couple weeks when Nick is home, and then I probably won't bother until after Derek goes back to college. We'll be doing other zoos every couple weeks.

Valerie I'm glad you got to visit with friends on your way to your house. Sounds like a great ride yesterday. How long does it take for you to acclimate there? My problem isn't mice getting into the house on their own, it's the cats bringing them in!

Carolyn I'm glad your headache went away. Good job with Gym Style Chest and Triceps.

Judy nice job with the Peloton ride and lower body.

Diane Sue, great job with the step and stretch and the raw workouts today. Yes, the Live Fit Tower workouts are all long. Thinking my next rotation with include those along with band, loop, ball workouts. My regular yoga mat needs to be replaced. It's gotten slippery and it has a number of cat holes in it. Fortunately my 6' Cathe mat is sturdier, mostly because it's thinner and thicker. I don't get that out for things that are only a few minutes long though.

Today I did Fit Split Mixed Impact Cardio which was 28 minutes and 196 calories burned. My average heart rate was 129 and maximum heart rate was 151.

Diane Sue, great job with the combination of Raw workouts and Perfect 30 Flow Strength and Flexibility.

Cathy, it’s good that you could get your errands done yesterday. That’s funny about finding the ”lost” items in your car.

Hello to Judy and Valerie.

This morning I did High Intensity Cardio Step. I definitely got a good workout, but it has a fair amount of non step moves including a lot of jacks. Getting really hot here today. Upper 80's. It is at least breezy. Tomorrow we go back to the low 60's. Weather can't make up it's mind.

Carolyn great job with Fit Split Mixed Impact Cardio. It was funny because just a couple days ago I had mentioned to Derek how my reusable straw had vanished quite awhile ago. Well it's not vanished anymore!

cathy I don't acclimate evenly. this trip we stayed overnight at around 3500 feet elevation and then the next day drove to closer to 6000 feet, slept the night. did a ride the next day at around 6000 feet. the start of the ride went badly but as time and uphill went on, I got better. when you drive and go up gradually and sleep higher, it helps. it takes me about a week to get used to it but exercising as hard as I can during that time helps me adjust. I also take a very small dose of a drug called diamox. it helps me adjust faster. a week or 10 days... I'm as good as I'm going to be without living here full time. on the other side of the coin, going back to sea level I lose any advantage of high altitude training in about 15 minutes. NOT FAIR!!

I did stacked upper and abs from x train. I like one of the scrambled premixes much better than the primary workout.

we never get mice in the house when we're here. never. but when we've been away, we get some into the crawl space. until the last 6 weeks when none got in. almost certainly we got the route closed off. we had one kitty who was a fantastic mouser but ate them so didn't bring anything inside. a real hunter-killer.
