Traildoggie
Cathlete
I'm back from our trip. a success. we did a road ride that we first did last year. this time we stayed in a campground in the middle and rode 2 sections of the trail out and back for about 31 miles one day and 35 miles the next. one part is more in town , the 35 mile part is less "settled". both have some significant hills but are mostly on an old railroad right of way. the hills come where the trail dives under a current highway overpass , down steeply, and then back up. some parts are right ion the water and many old wooden bridges. Lots different from our usual rides. weather turned nice and it got quite warm. hope to do something else next week. nothing like Josie is doing ,but loads of fun and scenic.
that is so sad about towns not wanting to take part ot actively rejecting the group. a disease is a disease, and who happened to get sick first was just bad luck. shameful that after all this time people can be so narrow minded.
I am maybe lucky that no one in my family has alzheimers. a sad and depressing thing to happen. several people had strokes and that took it's toll. dementia no matter how or why it develops is difficult for everyone involved. I also lucked out on leg veins. my mothers family everyone had them but I never developed them. Like Lynda, I would get them fixed if I had. makes no sense to me to put up with discomfort and problems if a fix is available.
getting everything cleaned up and organized and ready to do this again next week. will read the rest of the thread and get caught up with everyone.
