Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 3/31

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did Burn Sets ch, ba, sh (50:43).

Since I am starting a new rotation on Sunday, I decided I needed a couple new cardios to replace TTM, CF, and Tabatacise, so I bought some dancy ones by Christy Taylor and Jazzercise.

Deb, don't you like any of the XTrain workouts? I have enjoyed all of them except for Tabatacise, which I sold, because they seem modifiable to me and I like the music.

Josie, I finished my jacket about three weeks ago and wore it once so far. I am actually not sure how many times I will wear it now because the weather is definitely swinging toward warmer temps at last. But I will save it for next winter and maybe wear the jacket with jeans occasionally. I made a pencil skirt to go with it, so it's rather dressy if I wear it as a suit.

Lori, you just reminded me of all those pushups in meso 1. Now my dread is growing.

Hi to Valerie!

Good afternoon ladies!

No run this morning as I agree with you Josie about not running on the same day as spinning. I am planning on Ride tonight and know it is foolish of me to run on the same day.

I will attempt to run in the morning though. Will wait and see.

Garance yes tons of pushups. P90X had a ton of pushups but I do not remember being as sore as I am with STS. All though I am using heavier weights now so this I am sure is where the soreness is coming from. Just finished book one of Thrones. LOVED IT! Immediately started the second.

Have a great day!

The schedule changed ....my road bike wouldn't shift so planned to drop it for service and do a mt bike instead. the mechanic( amazing guy!) fixed it while we waited so we did a 2 hr mt bike anyway. a semi new location for us, never rode it when things were dry. It was a bunch of fun and not too hard, just right. now it's raining again so road biking will hold for a while.

the garden weeding is my job. give up the idea of "perfect" first off. this big..... there will be weeds. we use mostly organic type fertilizers and there are always weed seeds in those. try not to use any serious chemicals in there! I use a flamer and occasionally a little round up on weeds with taproots ( dandelions) since pulling them doesn't work. and just plain pulling, hoping. If what you want to grow gets a good start, a few weeds don't interfere but I try not to let them go to seed.

My mother got very sick and we thought things were going south quickly, but adjusted her meds and she snapped back OK. I need to go visit in the next week or two.

Agree with the consensus... two leg or upper body workouts on the same day are too much. need some space in there to recover. .

Josie congrats on another 2 lbs. I weigh tomorrow and am hoping for good news. those plateaus are so frustrating!

I love home grown tomatoes but it simply doesn't stay warm enough here most years. people grown them in cold frames etc, with reflectors, you name it. I have better luck with cherry tomatoes like sweet 100's. cool weather crops do great, as do beans and corn. tomatoes, not as much.

Good morning all,

I did a 40 minute iTread this morning, up at 3:30...what else was there to do? Good thing there is nothing to do tonight after work, I plan on crashing. I am down 1.5 pounds since last weigh in....it must be not doing any workouts for a week...it certainly isn't the diet, not with all the Easter garbage I've been eating.

Josie, High Fives on the weight loss! Remind me again about the worktouts on YouTube that you mentioned...?

Garance, I have "Fit to Dance" with Christie Tayler listed on Ebay...I wish I would have known that you wanted to try one of hers, I would have sent it to you...I like the XTrain workouts a lot...I guess I was getting in a rut again and needed some time off. I assume you are going to use the new workouts for the cardio in the STS rotation?

Lori, I really liked Meso 2 in STS...when you get to Meso 3, there is a secret to not getting frustrated during that meso cycle...it's called the FF button on your remote!

Valerie, glad your Mom is ok...she is in the midwest?

Anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? The usual here..

Take care,

Deb, yes, she's in Wisconsin. I haven't been there in quite a while. keep in touch often by phone. but I need to put in an appearance. I live in a pretty nice place, well known high on many tourist locations but no one ever comes here unless I buy the tickets. last time mother was here was for a family wedding in Boise. must be 10 years ago. anyway, I will get something set up today or this weekend.

Didn't get in a workout at all yesterday but jam packed day so I wasn't sitting on my butt. Had a lunch with DH's former employees who see him as patients now, and he told them all that he is retiring. no one looked happy. there is a lot of politics going on between medical groups here and DH has absolutely had it with the treatment he and the other docs get at his current employer. a joke. it's so bad it's an insult. he may not retire permanently, but could do some part time work if he wants to, later. we'll see. but a lot of people will miss him.
Same weight as last week. disappointing but I was careful this week with food, exercise not as good as usual. so probably my usual pattern of hold and then drop. more later..

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did Cardio leg blast (56:18). I have been gradually adding more impact to this one and seem to be doing okay.

Deb, I have that Christi Taylor and used it a lot. I bought her new one, which is all dance, great music, no cueing--Spice something. I may go to a movie this weekend, and if Comfort Sunday looks good, we will probably go out on Sunday night.

Starting STS on Sunday. It feels like ages since I did it last. I am only doing STS upper body, and other workouts for lower body.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi all! Very busy today. My boss is the CEO of our company and he is retiring. Today was his last day and we thru him a little party atbthe office. Lots of fun but I ate way to much!!!! Non stop food and snacks all day. Even had the Harpoon Beer truck show up at 3:00pm. Needless to say I amd felling crappy at the moment. My fault. Anyways it was a ton of fun and we all had a great time.

I did run this morning and did Ride last night. So glad I did but I think I needed to run a marathon to burn off all the calories I consumed today.

Tomorrow I am planning on back and tris and a tough HIIT workout the walk Chester. This should help.

Other than that no plans for the weekend. House clean and errands tomorrow then going into work on sunday to set up new CEO's office. This is pretty much my weekend.

Valerie...that does seem like it had been with you. The good thing is you are loosing! It gets stalled but seems to pick up again.

Garance...I really like cardio leg blast. I also had a christi taylor workout many years ago. i think it was. CIA step tape. I remember liking her style. I have seen her new dance one. Looks like a lot of fun.

Have a great weekend ladies!

Good morning,

The sun is shining, although a little cool still....could it be spring trying to come out? I hope so.

Valerie, this whole medical thing is going to get really bad....wait until 2014...If I was your DH I would retire too if I could!

Lori, yeah those parties can get to you.....but you have the right idea, put it behind you and start burning off those calories. as for my weight loss....I think it's from not doing any workouts this past week...I still think that when you are lifting weights, your muscles retain water and that is why it is so long to show a weight loss.

Garance, which lower body ones will you do in your rotation? I liked the ones in Meso 3...I think, with using the tower....not the plyo ones..

Agility class this morning, taking Kylee in place of the one on Injured Reserve...LOL...

Have a great weekend!
