Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 3/30/08

Good Morning,

Here it is Saturday, my rest day, and I am up at 4:00 as usual. Kelsey and I sneak downstairs trying not to wake DH, make coffee and I enjoy my favorite time of day. I empty the dishwasher while the coffee is brewing. I have flashes of the past when I was very young and staying with my grandmother while my parents were on vacation. She would leave the dinner dishes in the sink overnight and get up at 5 am, make coffee and do the dishes. She used to say that she loved doing them while looking out the window above the sink. Her favorite time of day. (Of course she didn;t have a dishwasher)..I think I inherited that gene..

Enough rambling about my childhood LOL.nothing planned for today except doing house things. I think I will try to get the seasons of clothes switched, put winter stuff away etc. I don;t care if it's 20 degrees, I'm putting them away .

Have a great day!

Deb:)

Good Morning Ladies:
Deb: I thought I'd beat you to posting this morning but quess not.;)
My DGM used to always sing when she did the dishes,I learned quite afew 1940 songs.Pretty drappy around here, rainy and cool.Good luck with the clothes switching.I paln on going to see Leatherheads with George Clooney today.Hope its good.
Garance: Hope you got to go dancing last night.I found out last week that the personal trainer comes in at 6:30pm not am.Someone posted the times wrong.I thought I'd be able to see her before I went home for the day but I quess not now.May be if I lived closer I'd stop in but it takes 40-45min to get there. I like your idea of Leslie walk tapes, which one do you think is the best?
Josie:You poor thing!I'm so glad you didn't get a concussion. How are you feeling?Sometimes you feel worse a few days later. We had a patient fell 2 weeks ago and I couldn't believe all the blood. The cut was only about one and half long, but what a pool of blood.Hope you mend quickly.~Linny~

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie--

Today's my day off, so I cleaned house this morning, and now I will do some class preparation--William Blake and Adrienne Rich in the 60s this week.

Nope, didn't go to the ballroom dancing last night. DH didn't get back until about 10, but he was really glad that he went. Seeing a childhood through high school buddy and a lot of catching up for him. I watched Enchanted and was rather enchanted by it. A lot of laughs.

I've been looking at the equipment line-up, too, Deb. I'm not rushing into anything, just keeping a "wait and see" attitude. Maybe if I were 15 years younger, I would throw myself into this STS with abandon, but this older body is probably beyond spectacular improvement.

Linny, I really like the two recent 4-mile walk DVDs. The Fast and Firm comes with a green band, and the other one has an extra one-mile DVD you can do separately. The music on these is pretty good. I also have the 5-miler, and she has some short premixes on these, but I don't like the music as much.

Still cold here. Blech!
