Good morning,

Just starting us out....I need to get downstairs and DO SOMETHING before I talk myself out of it. ;)...

Be back in a bit...

Good morning ladies!!

Deb...thanks for always getting us started every week!

Feeling really great today! Yeah!

Yesterday I decided to see how far I could get thru Tabatacise and I was able to manage all 5. However, I did modify the recovery blast in between each of them and kept them a little more low impact. This way I had more of a rest in between each. I also took chester for a walk to make us both very happy. :)

Today I will do super cuts. And maybe a heavy bag later in the day in place of burn set chest back and shoulders. This way i can start with week 9 tomorrow and be back on schedule.

Went to Best Buy yesterday and bought all the cables needed to hook Ipad up to TV. I love it. Not sure why I did not do this sooner!

I will be watching the last episode of Season 3 of Downton today at some point. I loved this series. Kind of sad that I am finished with it. When does season 4 start?

Oh and I just looked outside and it is snowing here!

Have a great day ladies...

Lori

Hi,

Back again after workout and breakfast. I did X-Train All Out HIIT, plus 2 exercises of Burn Sets Chest. Whew. That is some workout...I was so exhausted from the HIIT that I had to drop down a bit on the chest work to complete the 3 sets of each exercise.

Valerie, you should track a couple of days worth of food, and see the calorie count...you may be surprised. I think 1500-1600 with your amount and type of exercise seems low. Fewer carbs will definitely work.

Lori, good job on Tabatacise! How do you modify that one? It seems like it is all high impact. It's great that you got the iPad to work with your TV...? I bet that felt like a huge accomplishment....anytime I get some type of techno thing to work I am elated. Like when I downloaded Travel Fit I was actually sitting at the computer with a big smile. I also was sad when I finished DA season 3. Not sure about season 4 but if it's anything like the wait for 3. it will be January 2014..They film and show it in Britain first, then here. I never understood that.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend....time for HOuseMax!

I agree Lori..strong work on tabata! I will leave that one to you.
I forgot to report what I did the last couple days... Burn sets split into 2 days. each day I did the ab workout following. I really love the core 1 workout. it's fast, I can do it all, and I can tack it on to the end of other workouts without a big deal because it doesn't require a disk change. I always liked sit ups and for so long no one did them. glad they're back. I'm approaching the point where I'll be doing the banana move with my feet up the whole time. not quite yet.

I put on my "tight jeans"...they're not tight anymore. Deb, WW must do some form of indirect calorie counting related to the points system. what I like is the large number of free foods. it's a lot less tabulating. fruit and (most) vegies are unlimited so there's a lot less to record, plus it teaches you what you can eat a lot of without damage. Since I eat a lot of vegies, it's much less recording for me. I can do a stir fry and only record oil, chicken, a couple cashews. don't have to look up green onions, asparagus, red pepper.

My body is very strongly pre set to maintain. I have to work very very hard to lose anything. I'm not one of those people who can "eat more" and still lose. and I'm not jeopardizing what I've already lost.

yeah, doesn't getting some electronic thing to work right just make you feel like you're in a low orbit? just this week I got some phone apps that work well, and I found out why my netflix app didn't work. finally got a couple more buttons on the remote to work.. they never worked with older disks to jump from segment to segment but it works on the newer ones.

Sorry--I missed the new week. I am just starting week 9 of the undulating rotation. You'll have to check my post.

Good morning,

I did a CC this morning, Coach Sean is still the best, RIP.
No class tonight,
banana016.gif
, so a nice break in the week, plus I have Thursday and Friday off, mammogram on Thursday, and my garage door opener being replaced.

Garancei, I listed Tabatacise, Crossfire, and To the Max on Ebay...no takers yet. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get for them on Amazon? I listed them at $18 each, free shipping. I thought that would be a good deal, but apparently not. How was the ballet?

Valerie, yes Garance is right, menopause is the culprit that kills our weight loss efforts. WW sounds like it works for you.

Lori, I think I am going to try to buy an antenna ( inside) for my TV and give up cable. We never watch anything offered anyway. Care to come over and hook it up? LOL. I dread picking it out and figuring out how to use it.

Hi to Josie, hope you had a nice weekend.
Off for more caffine, need to wake up more.

Good morning. we did a hike yesterday morning, about 2 hours, uphill to a nice viewpoint. then I did LBB later on. I had to eat more mid day yesterday I was SO hungry. decided to do the lbb workout after. it does seem to balance, if I have more for lunch, dinner is less critical.

we finally got our airline credit.... with the flight tomorrow, it would have been stupid to wait! I'll look for fun and see how much tickets would be today. no explanation for why it took so long. just showed up.

Yes, menopause.. that was a LONG time ago. for me, it was almost 18 years ago. everything 'normal" one month, and then horrendous hot flashes, folowed by freezing chills. I gained weight briefly around then, but I'm down 16 lbs from then, most of it off for a long time now. I lasted less than a month and got on replacement. It was always hard to lose but not this hard.

we don't have a choice about cable... need phone/ internet service. we'd get no TV at all without it. when we first moved here we had an antenna but barely got 2 stations and always in and out, and fuzzy. we have too many trees to pick up a satellite. but yes Deb, 57 channels and nothing on.... only now it's 157!

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did Cardio Leg Blast (56:18). I will add Core 2 either tomorrow or Thursday to the shorter workouts.

Deb, I sold all of them at Amazon for 18 dollars each, so I guess we think the same way. Tabatacise sold almost the next day, but it was only a few days for the other two. Hmm--the company is Les Ballet Jazz from Montreal and I would say it was more jazz than ballet for two of the three performances. There were a couple dancers who were absolutely riveting to watch, but I had mixed feelings about the choreography.

There are actually quite a few TV shows I like: The Good Wife, Scandal, Nashville, Homeland and Enlightened. Last year I was fascinated by Girls on HBO, but this year it just seems lewd and the characters quite unappealing, except for Shoshana. I also just started watching The Following with Kevin Bacon, and it is chilling. I have a colleague who is an expert on Edgar Allan Poe, and the serial killer is a Poe professor, so we share what we think of this angle (we agree he should have been an advisor on the series). I also like Project Runway, probably because I'm a sewer and sometimes their ingenuity is mind-boggling. Who knew you could make a cocktail dress from red licorice strips??!

Good for you, Lori, on Tabatacise! I'm glad I sold mine, so while I envy your ability to do high impact, I have no regrets about selling it so I wouldn't just be looking at an unused disk.

Valerie, you went through menopause 18 years ago?? You must have been very young. I didn't get through it until I was 59. Ugh--I know all about hot flashes and share your remembered pain.

Hi to Josie in warm lalaland.

Good afternoon ladies!

Ran this morning while watching something other than Downton. very sad that it is over. Started watching Sons of Anarchy only becuase this was the first thing that popped up on Net Flix. So far it has caught my interest.

Tonight working out with DH and I will do chest back and shoulders.

I love technology! I sit right next to our Information Technology department and have learned tons throughout the years. At home my husband always has me hook up any electronics, etc. Kind of funny.

So I am thinking of the Sunny Pro spin bike. Reasonable price plus I get free ship on amazon. 308 reviews at 4 stars. I have my Amex points linked with my Amazon account so this is where Amazon comes along.

Menopause! Going through all that crap right now. So embarrashing when having a very intense hot flash where beads of sweat build on your upper lip and you are trying to have a conversation with a coworker. I started taking Phyto B supplements and they have really toned the flashes down for me. I am able to sleep thru the night without waking up in a pool of sweat. I can't wait for this to be over already. It is ridiculous.

Have a great evening!

I was 47 I think, and it was very sudden. I tried a bunch of herbal home remedy things but it was horrendous. even then, they were backing off on recommending HRT but I said I didn't give a damn, that I would not live like this and write the script! I had relief in not much over 24 hours. I was unable to sleep at all, I was exhausted. daytime, I had few symptoms, all concentrated at night. I took HRT for quite a few years though fairly low dose.

We are just finishing the first season of Homeland. we enjoyed it... Scandal is next on the list. I put Enlightened on too. The Good Wife is my all time favorite. Mad Men is in there, and Justified, also sons of anarchy. DH likes that one, I'm not too hot for it. I suppose we could record and then watch but we're used to doing it this way and will continue.

I let DH do most of the electronics. I handle my computer, and I do the phone stuff, but he does the TV/DVD. he has a computer that's set up with work programs so we have separate ones. we manage to muddle thru. I don't have much of a knack for it but not a total nitwit either. I disintegrate when it comes to cameras....

Did a street bike ride today, 25 miles, a little over 2 hours. lots of minor problems so took longer than usual. chain fell off, caught toe in basket and fell over when stopping, DH had a nosebleed... ended up taking a long time. lovely springlike day. a little cold but birds chirping, and frogs... when the frogs all croak it's spring here and there was quite a chorus .

Our airline credit shopwed up this morning, 1 day before the flight. glad I didn't wait for that to re book.

Good morning,

I just finished X-train legs w/Rear delts. Nice. I need to get an area rug for my basement floor. It's too slippery, doing lunges etc I slide all over. I think John did some work down there with some cleaning fluid or something that left a slick shine on the linoleum. I tried washing it, but it's still there. OK. Enough whinning.

Valerie, I think antennas have improved since the days when we had rabbit ears...LOL....but they all are different apparently, some better than others. I have been looking at them on Amazon, reading reviews etc. If our cable company won't lower my rate, I will cut the TV out, just have the internet. I am also getting the phone from them, that will go too. They are the biggest rip off that there is. No competition so they take you for all they can. I started menopause early too, it was not as bad as others had, so I did not have to go to any meds except for OTC stuff. When do you leave for Ca?

Garance, 2 sold yesterday, "To the Max" and "Crossfire on Ebay"! Yay! Best thing is the same person bought both, so I save on shipping...hopefully Tabatacise will go soon. Selling these basically paid for most of the cost of the new series.

Lori, so you finished DA? or not? I feel your embarrassment on the hot flash episodes...I had that happen with a male client, just he and I sitting in a conference room, and sweat starts to pour down my face...it was awful. The more I got stressed about it, the more I was sweating...ugh..

So nice not having class last night....

Work, then relax with a book or something....have a great day!

Hi Ladies,

Today is Max Cardio Conditioning plus Cardio Abs. I could not wake up this morning, so will be doing it when I get home.

I went through menopause when I turned 50. It was not as bad for me as it was for my co-worker who had to get on the patch. I did have hot flashes and some sleepless nights but nothing that I could not handle. I did not have to take anything. I was still running marathons and I believe that that helped with the symptoms. I did gain weight around my waist, but my Dr. said that once I went through it I would be back to normal and I have :)

I knew that I would not have a problem, because my DM did not suffer much when she went through it.

I will be back later.

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did Burn Sets Bis and Tris (37:15).

Yep, I remember hot flashes when I was trying to teach. Not fun. I was on loestrin for quite awhile, which certainly helped the night sweats. I really had a tiny waist, even after two babies, but lost it in menopause. Now it's about 27-28 inches.

Yes, I felt good when I sold the same Cathes, Deb. I just hate accumulating workouts that I don't use. I have also sold my Zumba Exhilarate with those idiotic sticks, my Brazil Butt Lift, and P-57, both volumes. I did use all of systems, but grew tired of them and didn't use all of either the Zumba or the BBL.

So, Lori, what did you think about the final episode of DA? It won't return until January 2014.

Valerie, we have a long way to go before we will be hearing the tree frogs. Lucky you!

I'll be doing something light mid day today. went to yoga this morning, and need to head for the airport thru probably awful rush hour traffic this afternoon. back on thursday. this iwll be an unpleasant trip but no way around it.

I have no idea what my waist is, not like when young. still not ridiculous, and it's hard enough to get pants to fit as it is. I need a drawastring or a belt for everything that's low rise, mid rise etc. upper hip and waist area is small compared to hip/thigh area, no matter how thin. unless something changes dramatically this time, and I don't expect it will. I was on estrogen /progesteron for years. I gradually cut the dosage to very little and finally quit. the sex drive went with it, something DH was not thrilled with. too bad, when it's finally safe to do, you have no interest anymore.

I have a bunch of workouts I don't use. Lynda, how do you sell them on amazon? instructions somewhere? we buy a lot of things from amazon so fairly familiar with it, the buying end anyway. I've never used Ebay.

We have a long spring like season here. lots of things are blooming and budding out. there are things that bloom in January, and more as the year goes on. it might freeze especially if we have a clear night, but not damaging or hard freezes. we live up a little in elevation, but people are already planting peas and other cool weather crops. we usually wait until later in march.

Tabatacise sold late last night too! all have been shipped.

Garance, I forgot about P-57, and there are tons of others that I never do, would not even think about doing... Jillian Michaels rings a bell. I think I will do an inventory and start listing more. it was pretty easy this time, and Ebay had a special that you didn't have to pay listing fees unless you actually sold the item.

Valerie, it's really easy to set up a seller's account. I did it ages ago, and they have my routing number for my bank and just send the payments there. You can just set up an inventory, and when something sells, they notify you by email and give you a shipping address. You can buy bestsellers in hard back, read them quickly and sell them back and get most of your money back. I may be using my ipad more for books now, but I've made a fair amount of money on both my books and my dvds, especially when they are Cathes or systems.

Hope you do not have a long wait at the airport security. They have been reporting very long delays at some of the big airports because of the sequester.

Deb, it was a big roof antenna not rabbit ears, though I remember those. we're on a hill but the signals are too weak so we went to cable as soon as we realized the problem. dishes get blocked by trees here.... not that we watched that much even then but the reception was too bad to even watch news.

Lynda, thanks for that I'll see if I can do the same after I get back. I'd like to sell a few disks and if it's that easy, I'll do it. I have a few other things that never sold on craigs list but maybe Amazon reaches a larger market.

we are getting to the airport extremely early and do have boarding passes. I think tuesday night (late departure) should be as good as it gets.

also, I have a birthday coming in a few weeks. Do I want an ipad? I don't have any requests in to DH and that keeps coming up. why is it different from other readers? we don't have an iphone or macs so it wouldn't sync with anything.

Hi Ladies!

This morning was cardio leg blast..no core. Like you Garance, I will tag onto a shorter workout.

I will turn 52 this year and I have been going thru menopause for about 3 years now...it has been about 6 months since my last "time" so to speak. I am told if you make it a year then you are done. Any truth to this? A one point the night sweats were terrible. Came very close to starting taking a HRT but decided against it. Right now things seem to be manageable for me so i ma just going with the flow.

Valerie I will have to say I am very impressed with your biking. 25 miles is a long ride!!! Good for you and your husband that you get out and do this together. Sorry for all the complications during this ride though. Seems like it was one thing after another.

I loved the entire DA series but was very sad the way it ended. Unfortunately, I knew he was going to die because someone recently posted here about the season 3 final episode and mentioned it. I was a little unhappy that it did not state Spoiler Alert. Someone made a comment that it should have but I already had read it.

I have sold a few things on EBAY. Matter a fact when I switched over my Cathe VHS to DVD's I sold all my VHS . They went immediately!

Have a great night!

Good morning,

I woke up with headache today, stress I think. I can't wait for this day to be over.

Josie, you and I were lucky, as my menopause was nothing compared to some women in our office. Are you still planning on retiring soon? I am on the fence about it...I really want to get out, but something is holding me back...

Garance, as for the airport and waiting lines, I think it's all a bunch of hype. The government workers are not even furloughed yet..they have to give them 30 days notice, so April 1 or 2 would be the soonest they would have to start furloughs. All scare tactics as far as I am concerned.

Valerie, the iPad is nice, but I don't read books on it...I still like my Nook for that. You can use it for internet, e-mail, games ( Angry Birds is really dumb but addicting!), I still use my desktop computer more than the iPad. Just am better at it, like the mousee etc.

Lori, yes, I read that post about DA too, but I had already seen it so was not upset about it...I didn't know how they had planned to do it. Being a big soap opera watcher for years, I kind of had it figured out, not just the shocking way they did it...Hope this doesn't spoil it for Valerie, who I think is still in season 2?

Work, then agility class tonight...then a nice 4 days off...can't wait...

Take care,

oh no I am such an idiot! and did the same thing! I did not realize val was watching it! I thought I was the only one behind you. I am sooooooo sorry Valerie. :(
