Good morning,

Well Keegan was a clown, ran around the ring like a crazy dog in the first run...I took advice from his trainer and had the massage therapist that is there give him a 5 minute massage, because he has been acting so strange in class lately, not wanting to do things that he would normally do easily. Thinking that he may have pulled a muscle or something.

Anyway, she said he has something going on, you could see the muscle spasms when she was working on him. Well that massage must have helped him a lot, however he didn't listen to me at all, just ran around teh ring like mad....at least he had a good time and made people laugh...the second run was much better, he at least completed it, listened mostly, but did not qualify. The massage therapist said he is definitely experiencing some pain and I should get him a weekly massage, for 4 weeks, and rest him from agility. We'll see....

Lori, we had a nice sunny day here too yesterday, although still cold, it was beautiful. Tabatacise then a 3 mile walk outside?...good for you!

Garance, comfort Sunday today?

Other than that, John comes home today, have to get a workout in somewhere, and all the normal Sunday HouseMax stuff.

Take care,

Hi Deb and any later posters--

This morning I did Hard Strikes, premix 17 which includes Core 1 (45:06). I am still two days behind on the undulating rotation, which means I have 13 more workouts to do before changing gears.

Deb, I don't know why Amazon wants another credit card from you. My payments go to my checking account, not to a credit card. Amazon adds on shipping to the cost of the item for the buyer, usually $3.99, and I customarily pay under $3 for shipping, either first class for a dvd or media rate for a book, and I get in payment the price I have asked and usually some change, so I guess Amazon is getting about $3.99 for their work as middleman. I hope Keegan is okay. I'm really happy that Max is no longer limping and must have just pulled something with all of his wild running. Nope--no comfort Sunday this week because we are going to a Rural Lands dinner--more expensive, but a good cause.

Lori, I really enjoyed Admission. Tina Fey is a Princeton admissions officer. I wonder, though, if a lot of the humor is particular to me, because there are several laughs about getting in to a prestigious college (I taught at Williams for 40 years and we were almost always no. 1 at News and World Report or tied with arch-enemy Amherst), and some biting humor about English dept. scholars (I was a Professor of English and it was familiar territory). I still think it's pretty funny. Lily Tomlin is hilarious as an old-school feminist in the Germaine Greer/ Erica Jong mold, and after Tina Fey as her daughter Portia is dumped by her Chaucerian scholar boyfriend of 10 years for a Virginia Woolf scholar, she falls apart in very funny ways.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Another nice day in New England. Chester and I went for a nice long walk this morning. This will be my workout for the day. DH has the day off so nice to spend time with him.

Deb I hope Keegan is feeling better soon and hope he is not in too much pain. Garance I completely forgot about Max! Good to know all seemed to have worked out for him. The movie sounds great. Love love love Lily Tomlin.

Have a great afternoon! Hi to Josie and the vacationing Valerie!

Hey there,

Today I did 35 minutes of Run Fit....225 calories burned.

Rushing to get out....ran a little behind today, with workout, and finding out 3 more of my DVD's sold last night, so getting that organized to mail etc.

Garance, I saw in the FAQ's for Amazon sellers that you could provide the routing number right off your checks...but they don't give you that option when you set up the account...will need to investigate more...

I did set up an appointment for a 30 minute massage for Keegan tomorrow night. I sure hope this helps him. He doesn't seem ike he is in pain, especially when he chases Kylee around the yard...but she showed me the muscle spasms and they were definitely there...

Hi to Lori, Josie and the vacationing Valerie!

Hi all... I'm back, at least somewhat. we have a few more days off but decided to drive back over the weekend.
really lovely...went to capitol reef NP and Bryce Canyon NP. absolutely lovely though colder and windier than expected. we didn't ride tho we brought the bikes. froze every night, mornings very cool. bryce was especailly wintery yet, with snow and ice in lots of places. Really, puff jackets, hats, gloves, long pants. Capitol reef was warmer (for several days) but not really spring weather most of the time. the snow caps on top of the hoo doos ( bryce) were lovely in the morning light. this is a busy park though, and I call it a "half-day" park. get there in the afternoon, get up early, walk down into the canyon, then get out before the hordes of mostly european and asian tourists arrive by the bus load. too many people can detract from the experience too much patchy crusty snow left to do hiking in the rest of the park, which is 8-9000 feet elevation. I did spot a pronghorn. did not see much wildlife considering how much time we were out.
Still, absolutely drop dead gorgeous. the colors of the rocks are amazing. the road between the parks is also stunning. we did a hike in between. a 6 mile RT thru a canyon to a pond and waterfall. some visible pictographs on the opposite canyon wall, and visible stone granaries from when the canyon was farmed by Indians. too early for many birds, nothing leafed out yet. probably would be best in another month. we both love the area but I would not like it in summer when it gets above 100.

I finally broke through my weight loss plateau and am down 1.5 more. there is no cell service in much of the area so no formal tracking but I was active and watched my food intake. Bryce had cell service but off the interstate it was not available. we got into snow fall on the trip home on some high roads between the park and interstate and also around salt lake city corridor, a big stretch of busy city traffic.

Finished watching third season of DA and loved it! really enjoyed this one. also watched Argo. Such an excellent m,ovie, I liked it better the second time after I was more familiar with the situation the people were in.

I haven't read last weeks thread yet so not up to date. we will ride near here today.

Hi Ladies,

It’s only 8:50 and I already have a headache with my co-workers non stop babbling.
Stacey was out Friday and Joe had to give her the scoop on everything that went on while she was gone. I can’t wait to leave this place ;(

I will be working out when I get home. I woke up in time, but decided to stay in bed until 6:15 ;) It was too cozy to get up.

Welcome back Valerie!

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie (welcome back!), and Lori--

This morning I did Supercuts (45:00).

Valerie, that sounds like a lovely vacation and congrats on breaking that plateau.

Deb, you are doing so well selling your dvds on ebay that maybe you don't need a seller's account at Amazon. It really is hard to tell at times if dogs are in pain. Maybe with Keegan it comes and goes.

Wonderful dinner last night for Rural Lands. As usual, I brought half of it home and gave most of my dessert to a friend at my table.

Poor Josie! Stacey and Joe--well now we know their names, so it's personal and we can think vile thoughts and direct them at S and J on your behalf.

Hey Lori--this storm missed us, thank goodness!

Good afternoon ladies!

Welcome back Valerie. Your vacation sounds like it was beautiful dispite it being cold. Sounds like it was a lot of fun too. Good for you breaking thru and losing another 1 1/2 lbs! I know how tough it has been to break thru for you.

No run this morning. Josie, like you it was just to cozy for me to get up. I'll be doing Supercuts tonight so just as well I did not run this morning. Loved Garance's comments on S&J! Hysterical. :)

Deb, I agree with Garance. You seem to be doing very well with Ebay.

Garance, I am about 75% thru Game of Thrones so I decided to check out the ON DEMAND on Comcast. Glad I did as Season 1 is only available until 4/1. Yikes that is next week. So over the weekend I watched episodes 1 thru 3. Which is pretty much were I am in the book. I should finish reading before the weekend and then will watch the remaining 2 espis odes. Season 2 is available until June so not worried. I LOVE the TV show and I understand the hype. I am hooked. I now want to hurry up and read all the books!

Have a great day!

Good morning,

No workout today, late class and getting up to let a dog out at 3:39, then again at 4:20 is a killer.

Valerie, Welcome back...your trip sounds lovely, and congrates on breaking that plateau! Yes, now you are hooked on DA, and like the rest of us, will be waitng for the next season!

Garance, I was hoping that some of the DVD's that didn't sell on Ebay would sell on Amazon, but it does sound like a hassle, managing both of the seller's accounts, and what they do to your checking account...I am not looking forward to balancing my account, with all the stuff going in and out...it will be a challenge for sure. As for Keegan, I think it must be a muscle thing, he is only 5 ( 3/28) so he should not have arthritis yet, at least I hope not.

Josie, just keep counting down those days, and while you're counting you can smile a litte evil smile at S & J... LOL.

Lori, what kind of dog is Chester and how old is he? Is he big? small? I don't think you have given us details...LOL...

Work, then off to the massage lady, and making my shopping list for Easter brunch...

Take care,

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did Chest, Back, and Shoulders (53:51). I will substitute After Burn for Tabatacise tomorrow.

Deb, Amazon always sends an email when they are making a deposit in your checking account, but I still think you are doing great with ebay, so why add more hassle. Wow--the dogs are back to robbing you of your zzzzz. I would have a hard time getting back to sleep with two interruptions.

Lori, I totally agree about Game of Thrones. They have really brought the story to life. Season 2 ends with an incredible finale episode which I took a look at again to remind me of where things stand for the next season.

Hi to Josie and Valerie!

Good afternoon ladies!

Last night was supercuts and I ran this morning. Tonight will be All Out Low Impact.

Deb...I have two dogs and three cats. I know crazy! The dogs are Chester our eight year old, 110lb yellow lab and our little Chihuahua named Nilla (short for Vanilla Bean Coolata - My son was 8 when he named her!) Nilla certainly is the boss for sure and she knows it. Chester LOVES his walks and unfortunately in the winter months it is difficult to get him the exercise he needs. I try and make up for it the rest of the year as we will walk most days.

Garance! LOVING Game of Thrones!

Have a great afternoon!

Good morning,

No workout today, I tried to sleep in...John got up with the dogs around 4:00, and I stayed in bed until 5:45...

We took Keegan for the massage, he really is a hurting puppy...she also gave me an exercise to do with him for about a minute, each morning and evening to stretch out his spine. No agility for 4 weeks, and we are going back the next 3 Tuesday evenings. Call me crazy, but it is cheaper than a vet visit and I think it is helping him. He started out all jerky when she touched certain areas, but by the end he was all relaxed and liking it.

Garance, I think I will take your advice, and for now, not bother with Amazon...at least until my checking account statement comes and I get is all straight. So far I have sold 11 DVD's, didn't make a lot of money, but enough to pay for the new series and then some..which is something I guess. I really enjoy it.

Lori, LOL with the vision of Nilla bossing Chester around...

Off to get ready to go...What's everyone doing for Easter? We are having our usual early brunch here for my brother and his kids and G-kids. Just got the shopping list all prepared...lots to do!

Take care,

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did After Burn (54 min.).

Not sure what we are doing for Easter with no relatives around to mark the occasion. Maybe we will go out.

Lori, I love the name Nilla for a little dog--especially if it contradicts its feisty personality, as it sounds like it does with your chihuahua. The nice thing for a dog about living on a farm is never needing to walk the dog. Max roams freely and just stays pretty close to DH as he does all of his chores. Max's favorite thing in the whole world is when we go snowshoeing and he races back and forth between us and the woods. He must cover 3 times the ground we do. His second favorite thing is sitting up front in the truck with DH, and he takes deep offense if anyone sits in his place. Like Gollum in that respect--"Mine!"

Feels a bit like spring today--crossing my fingers for no more winter.

Hi ladies...

Ended up working later yesterday than anticipated. By the time I got home it was too late for a workout and no run this morning because of the long day yesterday!!!! Tonight I did do All Out followed by a quick heavy bag workout and it was a great workout.

Yeah my dogs are too funny! Nilla is 13 and could care less about Chester. Chester is 8 and just does not get that Nilla wants nothing to do with him. I would love to have all that space for chester to run around freely. Our yard is fenced in and he gets some exercise but not enough. Love that Max will sit up front. Very cute.

I am so looking forward to the spring. Weather was certainly warmer today than it has been but I still have tons of snow in my yard. It will be here till May!

No plans for Easter other than making a nice full brunch. We do not have any relatives in the area so Easter is usually a quite day for us.

Have a great night ladies!

Good morning,

Went to class with Kylee last night instead of Keegan and she did really well! It was fun. She's such a baby compared to the other dogs in there.

While Ma is getting spring like weather, we had all kinds of snow shower stuff yesterday, it was awful. There is some snow on the grass etc, but the streets are dry and to me, that is what matters..

Work, home to start getting some stuff ready for Sunday. I like to set up the dining room early, we need to bring chairs up from the basement etc, one less thing to do on Sunday.

Take care,

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did Hard Strikes (46:37).

According to DH, who is a weather nut because he is a farmer, what we are experiencing is a stalled or occluded front. Depending on which side of the front you are on, you can get snow or sun, and sprinkles followed by bursts of sun. Sounds like you are on the wrong side of the front, Deb. Easter Sunday sounds like it will go up into the 50s. What are you serving at your brunch??

Lori, I had a miniature schnauzer, 'inherited' from one of my sisters when she died, and at the time we also had a shepherd/husky mix. Tuzie, the schnauzer, was likewise indifferent to Zack's overtures to play. Like Chester, he just didn't get it. He'd look at her as if to say, "What's not to like?"

Hi to Josie and Valerie!

Hi Ladies,

I don’t know what is up with me this week! I have not been able to get out of bed to workout at my usual 5 AM. I wake up before the alarm, but then I don’t want to get out of bed. I will be going to a sculpt class tonight and since I have the day off tomorrow I will be doing the pure cardio and cardio abs DVD from Insanity.

I decided to start Insanity all over again on April 1st since I have missed a couple of days here and there. I’m still down the 12lbs and happy about that!

Me and my DH are going to a gala event on Saturday, but other that that no other plans.

Have a wonderful Easter everyone!

Josie

Vacation officially ended today. DH and I did a bike ride on tuesday, and hike ( 4 hours) Wed. he had to work half a day today, and tomorrow, and then DH on call for at least part of the weekend. weather here looks pretty decent, 60-ish and at least partly sunny, and that usually ( for unknown reasons) makes call better than if it's raining and nasty. he is counting down the last few times he will have to take call.

I need to get back into regular workouts. I went to yoga this morning and we did enough cardio based exercise so I mostly need to get some upper body weights fit into tomorrow.

Josie, DH always gets up early and exercises, but I've always hated to. I used to sometimes work out in the am, but not reliably. I prefer almost any other time of day. especially when I'm dieting ( congrats on holding the 12 lbs loss) I'm very hungry when I get up and I want to eat first. then I need to wait for a while after, and it's just easier to do it later. when you're retired, you'll have that option too.

should weigh in tomorrow. hoping for a little more loss. I've gotten back to tracking my meals but do OK without formal recording. as long as I'm paying, I'll follow the program.

Lori, I've never heard Nilla for a little dog but it's very cute! Dpes vanilla bean coolata refer to something or someone? never heard it before. chihuahuas are so feisty considering their size and fragile looking little legs.

Good evening ladies!

Ran this morning and was planning burn sets tonight but ended up volunteering at a homeless shelter serving food. My company donates food and manpower to shelters all over and we usually do one a month. Decided last minute to join in this month. Was a very tough city that we went to and was difficult to see some of the people that cam in for dinner. At the same time I felt a sense of pride that my company is involved in this. A very rewarding night. Workout can wait until tomorrow.

Change of plans for Easter. Was invited to my sons girlfriends house for dinner. They have been dating for over 2 years now and we love her and her family so this will be a fun day.

Josie...I completely understand about not wanting to get up. For some reason it has been extremely hard for me too this week. Congrats on maintaining the 12lb weight loss.

Have a great night!

Good morning,

I just finished 40 minutes of Run Fit....271 calories burned. I really liking this one a lot.

Garance, did you ever consider another dog for Max to pal around with? Although he may not want to give up his farm duties to another dog!

Josie, yes, good job on the weight loss!

Lori, that is great that your company does that with shelters. We do a lot of things for United Way, one is sending a bunch of people out for their Day of Caring, where we go to shelters, community centers, Boys & Girls clubs, and do inside painting, outside landscaping, all kinds of work to spruce the places up. People love to do this, and we have to limit the number so that we can still keep the business going.

Valerie, sending you "lost more weight" vibes!

Work, home to get more stuff done for Sunday...I have to set up 16 people in the dining room somehow...
