Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 3/11

Morning all,

A little worried, got my results letter from the mammo and they said there was something, they think is benign but want me back for another one within 6 months. In the meatime if I find a lump or anything unusual I am supposed to go and get another immediately. Huh? I am calling my Gyno today, since he got the same letter supposedly.

I think i will spray my keyboard and monitor with some anti-bacterial spray, since there are so many germs around here. I don't want to catch what Josie and Valerie have. LOL.

We have considered a rescue dog in the past, however with the dog training club, we see so many of them ( great the the people who adopt come to the school for help) and they can be a handful. Not that puppies aren't. Since we have wanted puppies for any new dog we have gotten, it's nice to get a breed that you like. I would not mind an older Wire Fox terrier rescue next time. There are organizations nation wide that do certain breed rescues too.

No plans for the weekend, just HouseMax, so I will be around.

Yes Deb, talk to your regular doctor for his perspective. I would not want to have to stress about it for months.

Did about half an hour on the spin bike yesterday at a lower level. it was pretty hard. I'm not truly recovered completely yet and I got tired very quickly and the heavy breathing was unpleasant. tennies work much better than bike shoes. It even felt like different parts of my legs and glues got involved. the position bike shoes force me into just will not work for me. I didn't like them from the get-go.

It's cold and raining and we have gotten a humongous amount of snow in the mountains. this is turning out just like last year with record amounts of snow late in the season. it is really messing with our vacation plans.
 
Hi Ladies,

Another sad weekend! My co-worker Michele retired last August and has always had health issues and was recently diagnosed with liver cancer may not make it to the end of the weekend. I have known her for 30 years. She is a couple of months younger than me 
I will go spinning this weekend due to rain predicted on Saturday and Sunday.

Valerie, I guess that we are getting the same storm.

very foggy here this morning, I can't see across the street. Feels like northern California, Santa Cruz in the early morning. I hope it clears up soon.

Got in a better workout yesterday but keeping it simple, not too intense. did 35 on the treadmill at less than peak speed, and abs from Turbo Barre and 40 knee push ups. breathing too hard/fast still gets me coughing so I'm working below the level that causes that. this is the last but generating coughing fits doesn't help anyone.

I think ( big surprise) it will rain again today. endless! we will visit our aunt the last time before she moves to Portland. probably the last time we'll see her. she is going to a comprehensive assisted living. portland is a 3-4 hour drive too far to see her often. I can still talk to her on the phone.

My mother also took a turn for the worse. I called to get results of the last labs that I'd requested her doctors office to do. results showed big changes, not good. her doc has been on vacation and not back until monday so DH had me have my brother stop several of her meds. she is very close to kidney failure. I'm glad I followed up and requested a re-do but it seems like no one at her docs office is paying attention.
 
Valerie, sorry to hear about your Mom. It's hard when they are not close and you are trying to help from a distance. Goopd that you will still be able to talk with your aunt by phone.

I feel like we are in the Pacific Northwest right now. :)
