Good morning,

I am starting the first HIIT rotation, it's only 5 days a week, which should be perfect for me. I am switching it up a bit, and doing the longest workout today, rather than during the week in the morning.

Valerie, our closets are very tiny, but we do have 2 of them in our bedroom. Our house was built in 1924, and I guess people did not have that many clothes! LOL. I went to Google to look at those drawers you mentioned.
Very interesting! All kinds of ways to use these!

Lynda, yes, I saw the Ebay listing and thought " huh? are they kidding? Sephora has lots of good reviews, but are out of it I guess. Can you order and have it be on back order?

Hi to Lori, Judy and Josie,

Take care,

Just ignore the date here....not sure why I thought tomorrow was the 18th!

I did HIIT Back Shoulders and Biceps this morning...yes she does go pretty fast with this one. Not as fast as the Pyramids though. :)

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did 68 minutes of BarreAmped. Once again, I cut the stretch section short.

I looked at the leg workout with contrast training yesterday. I think I could do it with modifications on the plyo because the moves are fairly simple.

Deb, if you put the Needles No More on your list of favorites, they will email you when it comes in. If you put your zipcode in, they will also check to see if there is a store where it is available close to you. I tried that, but the closest J.C. Penney that had it was Holyoke--a long drive. Maybe there is a Sephora counter close to you.

Dinner out tonight. Tomorrow I have to start some Christmas baking.

Hi Ladies,

Went for a run yesterday. No workout today, just sitting here watching A Christmas Carol and making my list for my baking and Christmas dinner. I decided to have a Mexican Christmas this year :). I will be making carnitas, Pozole and rice and beans and 4 different kind of salsas plus a Christmas punch. There will be an option to make tacos with the carnitas.

Tried to go to the mall yesterday but when I saw the crazy line of cars trying to get into the mall I made a u-turn and me and DD went to lunch instead :). I will try it again during the week when everyone is at work.

Have a great Sunday ladies!

Josie

Deb your date error reminds me that a week ago I sat down to write some checks and wrote a couple with a date of 12/15 before looking at a calendar and seeing it was 12/8. pretty clueless!.

We went on a hike this morning, only a bit more than 90 minutes. very pretty out but very icy and so we got to a creek crossing with ice covered rocks and decided not to cross. we were a little pressed for time & needed to make a hardware store stop for toilet flappers!

yesterday we painted the bathroom and closet. I tried to do things left handed as much as I could. with painting it helps to be two handed anyway. we used some of the new frog tape to cover trim. it's more expensive than blue masking tape but works better to prevent bleeding. anyway, my shoulder got sore but no worse than it's been, and today after all that painting and overhead work, it's the same so it's not getting worse, just very slowly improving. I am sure getting tired of this process. I may call and see how long a wait there is to be seen this week and make an appt. I can always cancel.

Deb, the drawers are great for storage. I love coated wire shelving. it can fit into almost any situation. it never sags like wood shelving. we had to replace the shelving in our kitchen pantry almost immediately because they used particle board. even with NOTHING on it the boards sag! there is now shelving with close together wires to use in pantries. I doubled the storage space easily. the newer wire mesh drawers are nicer than my old ones but it's been 25 years at least and still like new. I kid myself that my closets will someday look like in the pictures!.

Good evening ladies!

Very busy this morning. Made our usual breakfast and DS and DGF came over. Was very nice. House work then ran errands and was home right at the start of the Pats came for 1pm. After the game I was debating whether I should take a rest day but decided to do Cathe's Live Kickboxing and Barre. I have my mamogram early so I may not workout tomorrow. This is what motivated me to do something today.

Lynda...how are you liking SB's new DVD? I have done the tabata section only once and I have not touched it since. I need to fit it in somewhere. Yeah! The Hobbit comes out this week. My DH just does not get my excitement! I am reading Unbroken. I am still in the early part of the book. My friend is reading it too and is farther along and had to put the book down a few times because it was just so difficult to read. I know I will be balling!

Valerie...a 90 minute hike is still a good hike. Plus all the painting you are doing works you too. Sounds like you really should have your shoulder looked at. Mine is kind of weird. One minute it bugs me and then it doesn't. All weekend it has been fine. Did heavy bag today and still fine. I never know when it is going to flare. No rhyme or reason whatsoever.

Josie...your dinner sounds wonderful. We like Mexican food alot. For Christmas dinner we are having chinese food then going to the movies. We have been doing this now for a few years and we love our tradition we started.

Deb...how did you like the weight workout today? She does move fast but I do not mind. I like to move through my workouts. My shoulders felt this one alot! My DH and I were just talking about closet space today because we pretty much have none. We decided to take a portion of the basement and make a large closet. This will be a fun winter project for us.

Have a great night! Hi to Judy!

I did the Low Impact HIIT workout from the new series this morning, and yikes, those planks at the end of the bonus ab workout are tough. Kudos to anyone that can complete that!

Lynda, we have a few Sephora's here in a couple of the malls. Are you going to try it? Did you put your name in to be notified when they get it in? How was the comfort food dinner? Any of your DH's food on the menu?

Josie, mmm...a Mexican Christmas sound delicious. We always make chile -con- queso with little meatballs to take to my brothers on Christmas Eve. It has become a tradition with my family ( the Italians! LOL ) after John and I met, and he brought it to the first Christmas Eve he spent with my family. It was a Christmas Eve tradition with his family.

Valerie, too funny...I also wrote out some checks with the wrong date yesterday, before I caught it...:) I am going to look into a set of those mesh drawers to fit under my quilting cutting table. Try to organize the mess in that room.

Lori, I am really liking this series so far. Good luck with the mammogram. Is your Chinese food tradition on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Your posts on the book make me want to see if it is available in the library.

Hi to Judy,

Work, then late class tonight.

Take care,

Lori I am also up for a mamm shortly, the 23rd I think. each time it needs to be 1 yr since the previous one, to the day. so I am inching closer to Christmas day. the shoulder report is that it is better still and I will do a ride today probably a road ride.

Deb, if you a "The Container Store" around there, they have Elfa and those are the nicest. I have not looked to see if they still make the free standing baskets in racks. like I said, mine are old and I got them at a store called "Hold Everything" that specialized in storage products. . Fortunately there is no TCS store near here or I would spend a lot there! oh there's one 30+ miles away but traffic is awful and that keeps me away. I'm not sure if Closet Maid or Rubbermaid make any free standing products. most of what I saw hung on walls suspended by a variety of support systems.

Josie I'm not sure what pozole is so will look it up. I'll bet your home made salsa is fabulous. I love salsa but can't get DH on board with me.

somehow we never established any clear Christmas traditions maybe because of no children? some years we'd go xc skiing but some years like this one there is no snow. we have snow but too high yet. some years start out with a bang like this year but now it's warm and wet and all the accessible snow is gone. that's why we are back to hiking again.

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Dancin' Abs (58:00).

Deb, I know what you mean about that plank work at the end of the second bonus core workout. Bowen has something like it at the end of one of her workouts too. I think I will eventually be able to do it all, but it is definitely a challenge. I definitely want to try the Brandt cream. I will just have to wait until it shows up either at Sephora's site or his site. DH had the comfort meal, but I can't remember what it was because I had oysters and mussels--both were wonderful, especially the spicy broth with the mussels. I do know that he had the third course--a spice cake that he really liked.

Lori, I do one of Bowen's workouts on Sundays and have been rotating them, so I have only done her new one once and really liked it. I like all of them. My problem is that I have too many leg workouts from Cathe now, and I think I prefer barre work for my legs. I like to do one total body, one partial upper body, and one leg workout each week, and alternate with cardio the other three days. Unbroken does get pretty searing emotionally.

Josie, that meal sounds wonderful. We always do a standing rib roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, mushrooms in a sherry cream sauce, a big salad and ice cream with various cookies. We usually have prosecco and/or red wine with dinner. We always go out to dinner with friends and family on Christmas Eve.

Hi to Judy and Valerie!

went mountain biking instead... it's been a while and it was a real grunt to get up the hills. amazing how fast fitness for an activity slips away. I was totally out of breath and had to stop way more often than the last time. better by the time we got to the top... and OK on the way down, as you'd expect. this is a road in a tree farm nearby but it has really lovely views and supposedly a lot of wildlife although we've never seen much. not pristine environment but close by and accessible.
we have new tires that help with traction in the mud. we get SERIOUS mud so that you kind of spin and don't go anywhere, just churn! didn't bother my shoulder at all, not even a twinge. so I guess I will just ease off a few more days and then go back to upper body or total body workouts but be very cautious with weight and no pushups for a while longer. If I had to guess I'd say those were the problem. .

Oh my.... pozole is hominy. No matter what you say Josie, I'm not coming to dinner. except for the home made salsa!

I'm skipping yoga tomorrow and will think about it for Thursday. think my shoulder is OK enough now.

Horrible night last night, up almost the whole night. I am going to be dragging today. Not sure what did it.

Valerie, I don't think we have one of those stores here....I will look at Home Depot, or Lowes when I figure out what will work.

Lynda, do they have the plank work in the second Bonus Ab workout as well? Yikes. Love your Christmas menu. Yum!

Hi to Josie, Judy and Lori,

Sorry for the short post, I am half asleep. It's going to be a long day.

Good morning ladies.

I have a serious eye issue going on again, woke up yesterday at 3am and same thing like last time. Felt something fell in then instant pain only more intense then last time. I flushed my eye to no avail. It felt a little better so DH brought me to mamo then my eye doctor is around the corner so we went straight there. So glad we did. Apparetly when I woke my eye was very dry causing all the protective cells to come off as I opened my lid. This is what gave the feeling of something falling into my eye and most likely was what happend a few weeks ago just not as intense.

He needed to remove all the loose cells then put on this very large contact that I can not remove for a week. I am in such terrible pain. So much so he has given me antibiotics and percocets which I do not like taking but have too. Was home yesterday and will be today to. I have a follow up appt tomorrow morning. Did not move from the couch yesterday and today will be the same. Percocets make me sleep which I am thankful.

Lori that sounds awful!! eye pain is so debilitating... I've had an infection or two, and a few minor corneal abrasions and those were bad enough... this sounds much worse. Maybe it will heal faster than expected because you got such prompt attention. I'd suggest taking some OTC meds ( whatever works) ahead of time to counteract the side effects of Percocet. It will likely cause constipation, an additional annoyance. the drug plus inactivity compared to your usual. Check back in and keep us updated ....hugs and good wishes coming your way.

Deb, your day sounds "good" compared to Lori.... but that makes you feel all dragged out. hopefully tonight you can go to bed early and catch up a little. I won't complain about anything! Even though our ride yesterday felt pretty tough, I got no soreness at all this morning so I feel good about that. I didn't go to yoga this morning but am thinking Thursday. will do some kind of indoor workout today not sure what yet.

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did ba, sh, bis (52:28). I like this one a lot--she doesn't go too fast and seems to slow down as the workout progresses. I also like the novel band work.

Deb, I thought you were actually referring to the core 2 workout. She does that down elbow, down elbow, up to hand, up to hand move on the planks that I think is a killer. Any reason why you couldn't sleep at all last night?

Ooh, Lori, that sounds awful--like your eyelid is actually scraping your cornea when you open it in the morning. Does your doctor have any advice on how to prevent this from happening?

Sounds like your shoulder is healing nicely, Valerie.

Hi to Josie and Judy!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I did Lift It HiiT It-Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. I added XTrain Core 2 at the end. I am really liking the new series.
This morning I did a new 2 hour Spinerval. That will be my long workout for the week.

Lori-I'm so sorry about your eye :( that sounds so painful. I am sorry that you are home sick and I hope that you are feeling better soon.

Deb-I'm sorry that you had a bad night, I hope you are doing better now too.

I'll check back in tomorrow.

Hi to Valerie, Lynda and Josie!

Judy

Good morning,

I got up and did Cathe HIIT Chest Shoulders, & Triceps. I am really liking this series. The perfect weight workouts, and all of them shorter than an hour. The cardio is good, and I can modify or do premixes. Great mix of workouts. Cathe outdid herself with this one.

Lori, that's horrible about your eye! Wow, and the last time you thought that something fell into it. Do you wear contacts normally? It's good that you were able to get into the eye doctor so quickly.

Valerie, I agree, a sleepless night is nothing compared to what happened to Lori. Good thing you didn't get the workout that I did today. The shoulder work is KILLER.

Lynda, it was the Bonus Abs 2 that is the one I did....it's tacked on to the Low Impact HIIT # 1 in the rotation, so I assume it was Abs 1, I hear over at MFP that the HIIT Low impact 2 is easier. No mat, and she uses weights. I think I have that for Friday. Tomorrow is that Leg workout again. I will do the premix with no Blasts. It gave me DOMS for 3 days! No idea why I couldn't sleep. Strange.

Judy, kudos on a 2 hour Spinerval..that's awesome!

Hi to Josie,

Take care,

Very busy day yesterday but managed to fit in 25 on the treadmill and core 1 just before dinner. DH had a polyp on his colonoscopy so now he is on a q3 yr schedule. glad it's not me. he has a bad family hx so they are being cautious. Judy, hope yours goes well and you get on a 10 year repeat cycle instead.

we are working on the closet. it looks simple but lots of little plastic parts that have to fit together make it frustrating. Rubbermaid has several closet 'systems" and parts from one don't work others although on the shelf it all looks the same. we've been back and forth to Lowes several times already. Hard at first to see the differences but better now. Part of it is you have a mental and paper plan of what you think will work, but when you start mounting it on the wall perspective changes. the corner pieces are bigger than they seemed, so we are changing our plan. It will be a huge improvement. it's a big closet but was poorly organized before with much wasted space.

Lori hope your eye is getting better and that they have a treatment plan for you so it doesn't happen again.
Lynda, I still have not totally given up on the idea of an injection. I will see how it goes when I go back to yoga and weights. I'm a little apprehensive but your experience makes me think I have recourse if this stays bothersome. the core workout you're talking to Deb about..is that from the new series?

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did #2 low impact hiit with core #1 (38:42). I wanted a short workout because I had an early dentist's appointment. I like this one too, and it may be a tad easier than hiit #1.

Deb, you were right the first time--those plank moves are in core #1. I do them a lot slower than Cathe and crew, but I can do them, even the jumps out and in. I used a 5 lb. weight for some of the mat work--the 8 lb. seems too heavy for me with those long arm reaches.

Valerie, I am on a 5 year cycle because my mom had colon cancer. I've never had a polyp, so I wonder if this spring, with my 4th colonoscopy, whether I can go on a 10 year cycle if there are no polyps. I know cortisone doesn't work for everyone, but for me, it's like a magic bullet on my knees and then my shoulder.

Lori, I sure hope your eye problem is better. Let us know what the doctor says.

Hi to Judy and Josie!

Good evening ladies,

Eye is better. Thank you all for your well wishes. Had a follow up appt this morning and he took the lens out. This gave me immediately relief. I was in so much pain the past couple of days. The best I can describe is getting sand in your eye then putting a contact lens over it. Was horrible. I could do nothing. He said it is healing well and I have more ointmnet I must use for 3 months. I still have discomfort but it is manageable. Going to try and go to work tomorrow since I am suppose to be on vacation next week!

Deb...thank you Chester received his gift and loves it.

I will read thru posts tomorrow. My eye is still sensitive to light.

Good morning,

I got up early and did HIIT Legs. I like the "all strength" premix. Not sure I could handle the whole workout with those Blasts in between the strength exercises.

Valerie, I had polyps 2 times in a row, so I was on the 3 year schedule as well. Then I went a couple of times with no polyps, and am now on a 5 year schedule. If you are able, take pics of your finished projects and post them here. I would really like to see the closet and the bathroom!

Lynda, I think I do HIIT Low Impact #2 next week in the rotation. Looking forward to it. This is the first Cathe rotation that I have stuck to for a whole week!

Lori, good to hear your eye is better. That was scary! Are you able to drive to work? Glad Chester likes his toy. When all is better, post a pic with him and the toy! They make great tug and fetch toys. My 2 tug with us, with each other, play fetch and chew them and they don't tear them apart. It's amazing. I can toss in the washer and dryer and they are like new.

Hi to Judy & Josie,

we have our Holiday party at work today, my last one!

Take care,
