Good morning,

I did a Timesaver premix from Cathe's new Lean Legs & Abs...whew...that was tough. I am really out of shape. I wanted to do this as a lower body workout, and use a premix for upper body from FlexTrain but found out that there is no upper body premix..:(. One thing about this set of workouts, she did not do much upper body anything, seems very focused on lower body.

Valerie, sorry to hear about your sister ..it is very hard when you are so far away. DH is having the same thing with his sister in California.

Garance, my cousin saw Enough Said and liked it a lot. I'm going to try to do the Low Impact X-10 tomorrow morning, if I sleep ok tonight...( that Sunday night sleep issue)..

Nice day yesterday, did the mani-pedi thing with my cousin, some house stuff, watched a few episodes of Doc Martin...then went to bed and did not get to enjoy that extra hour....the dogs got me up at 5:00...regular time, someone forgot to tell them about the time change!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

I do what I can from a distance but it's all confusing with all the social programs that I have no reason to be familiar with. plus, my sister's memory is so bad that even if she says she will do something, she might not and won't remember. she has all kinds people involved now. hopefully something before the end of the year.

bummer on the doggie wake up call. I slept in, but had a kahlua ( ?) drink last night and the caffeine bothered me. kept me awake up a lot around 1-2 until it burned off.

I did 35 min on the treadmill at 2.5%, then burnsets bi's & tris, plus core 1. a good combo.

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Rockout Knockout (56 min.) with 1 lb. gloves.

We went to see Enough Said last night. Really enjoyable, and nice to see James Gandolfini as a big teddy bear instead of Tony Soprano.

Deb, I agree that there is very little upper body work in this set, although a lot of shoulders here and there and fairly light weight stuff in Flextrain except for the 1 arm rows. I am still doing the upper body workouts from XTrain, which I think are excellent and complement Flextrain with more concentrated work. I certainly enjoyed my extra hour of sleep this morning. It was pouring rain most of the night, but when I woke up, the sun was coming up and I caught a little bit of the partial eclipse.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone!

Good morning,

Judy, I am so sorry to hear about Tiger, thinking of you and your DH and thinking about him, now running free with Misty, happy & healthy again.

Hi,

Today I did X-10 Low Impact. I had to modify a bit, hate those jumping push ups with the disks, so I did what I could on those, and a couple other things too. All in all, a good one, nice and short. Garance, I agree with the "frenetic" pace...it's the music as well, it is so fast. I will try the circuit one next, and see if that is ok. I will keep the lower body ones, and Flex-Train.

Valerie, I feel your "sleepless" pain, with the drink. You never know what is in those, and having one that keeps you awake is very frustrating.

Garance, what do you think of Rockout-Knockout? worth keeping? I agree with you on the weight work in X-Train. Some of her best for sure. I will need to pick an upper body one to do this week, but I need one with all muscles hit.

Hi to Josie, Lori & Judy,

Work, then the late class tonight, I wish we had another extra hour tonight!

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

First, so sorry to hear about Tiger, Judy. Your love for him was so evident and I'm sure his loss will hurt for a long time.

This morning I did Great Glutes, the premix without the ball (55:30). I think this is a bit more difficult than the legs and abs workout, but probably high intermediate.

Deb, I really like Rockout Knockout. I modify the jacks to half-jacks, but the rest of the impact doesn't bother me, and I feel like the workout flies by.

Really cold last night, but very sunny today, so I cannot complain.

Good evening all!

Today I did crossfire. Repeating last weeks rotation since I pretty much did nothing. The cold really sidelined me. That and also health issues with my family too. My brother in Arizona is having issues. Went for a MRI on Friday and we are awaiting results. I know how you feel Valerie about the distance. Makes it so hard.

Deb..I love Rockout. I use 1lb hand weights through out. It has impact but you can easily modify. The x10 ones are good too. I like that they are short but intense. I agree with Lynda that great glutes is a bit more difficult. In a good way though. I actually do like the ball work. Crazy about the guys in black on Halloween. That would have really freaked me out!!! Loved Kylee's picture! So cute. :)

I have not seen Enough Said. I still have not seen 12 Years A Slave either. Been so busy!

Valerie...I can't imagine witnessing that accident. Must have been so scary. So sorry to hear about your sister.

Judy...thinking of you.

Hi Josie! Glad you are back to working out and your foot injury seems to be behind you!

Good morning,

The dogs got me up at my regular workout time, but with the late class, I have no energy to do a workout this morning, Just sitting here with a cup of coffee. Will probably go vote when the polls open at 6:00.

Garance, really cold here too yesterday, around 25 degrees in the morning. It is supposed to get up to 55 or so today, strange weather for November but I am not complaining! Are there the dreaded "low ends" in Great Glutes? LOL. I need to pick a good upper body premix for tomorrow, about 30 minutes long, any suggestions?

Lori, glad you are feeling better, sorry to hear about your brother, hope all turns out well with the MRI.

Hi to Valerie, Josie, and Judy, Work, then home to relax.

Hi Ladies,

No workout today. Have to run some errands and figure out what to pack for my trip to NY.
My DH has business to attend to on Thursday and Friday so I get to tag along and make a long weekend out of it :). I also get to hang out to my ex-coworker that's like my other daughter.
We plan to celebrate her birthday on Thursday by going to breakfast and shopping and maybe catching a show at the Blue Note. I can't wait!

My workout will be walking all over the city.

Lori, my foot feels fine and I'm even able to wear a 2" heel now ;)

Judy, you are in my thoughts.

Garance, I get to wear my turtlenecks and my wooly sweaters and my favorite winter coat.

Deb, muscle max has a good upper body premix.

I will catch up with everyone next week.

Josie

Good morning ladies..

Ran this morning and tonight will be Rockout. I am going to sub the punching drills with Cardio Kick drills. Did this once before and I loved it.

Heard from my brother and he does have a small tumor in his pancreas but they do not know if it is benign or not. More tests and more waiting. Having anything in your pancreas is not good as far as I am concerned. Trying to be positive.

Deb...I will have to look to see what good upper body premixes there are. I really have not done premixes and only recently have begun utilizing these. I feel like I have really missed out.

Josie..have fun in NYC. It can get rather cool there so yes dress warm. Funny with the 2inch heels. I consider 2 inch heels my flats. Most of my shoes are 4 to 5 inch heel. I know it is ridiculous but I love them.

Hi to Judy, Lynda and Valerie!

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did RPS #1 (52:28). I pretty much have this one down in terms of choreo and it's a sweaty one for me with a lot of impact to modify, esp. combo 6.

Went to see Captain Phillips last night. It was long, but I think the length supported how harrowing it was in the lifeboat for Phillips. Excellent film.

Deb, I have finished watching all 5 seasons of Doc Martin, and I really wish there were more. The final episode in season 5 is absolutely one of the funniest shows I've seen in a long time. Deb, I think Josie is right about Muscle Max having a good upper body premix. The one for High Reps is also really good, and it's about 38 min. if I remember correctly.

Lori, I wouldn't last 5 minutes in heels that high. I do have some 3 inchers with a 1 inch platform that takes care of the height, and some platform sandals that are pretty high.

NYC is always fun, Josie, and I do think you will be able to wear your winter duds.

Thinking of you, Judy.

the last 2 days...marathon phoning. I didn't realize my sister was so bad. between my brother and I, we got her seen & admitted to the hospital monday. I don't know how many phone calls it took. running google /maps to look up people , while my brother picked her up, kept her upright, got info from me and took her where she needed to be.

seizures left and right, but refused hospitalization after brother called 911 sunday following a huge seizure. no insurance but the hospital will have social services whose job it is will be to get paid by someone.
Her house is a pig sty, although may insult pigs. my brother is organizing a clean up to at least break it down a little. we are wondering whether she can still live alone even if the seizures are controllable. no way to tell if she was taking her meds or whether the meds don't work anymore. she had to be in a hospital, insurance or not.

anyway, instead of a hike we did a 27 mile bike ride so I could be in closer phone range. back to yoga this morning too.

thanks for the info re MM and High reps. I have both, and sometimes want a faster overall upper body workout.

I don't do heels. never did feel good in them and pressure on the left first metatarsal joint is too much. they make my calf muscles cramp like crazy and I can barely walk, and that's 2.5 ones. I dread foot surgery but it will happen and I don't want to rush toward it.

Lori, you're right... anything in the pancreas is not good news. but wait to find out for sure. there are plenty of benign masses.

WA state went to mail voting a couple years ago. I had switched decades before to mail because of my travel schedule. I highly recommend it. so much easier and IMO more accurate because if something shows up you're not sure about, it's easy to set the ballot down and look it up. I know I do a better job at home.

Thank you for your thoughts everyone. They are appreciated.

I'm sorry about your sister Valerie :(

Lori-I hope your brother is ok.

I'll get back to regular posting later this week.

Judy

Good morning,

Woke up with the dogs at 4:00, decided to stay up and get a workout in. I did KCM's new Trim Down...this is a great workout, intervals of weights, with boxing in between. Nothing complicated.

Josie, you should be able to wear some winter type clothes in NYC, but maybe not a winter coat just yet. Lots of sweaters though.

Lori, sending positive vibes your way, hope the news of the test results are good.

Garance, will there be a season 6 for Doc Martin? I finished season 4 last night, the episode where she has the baby was pretty funny.

Valerie, I hope they get your sister the care she needs, that sounds awful.

Judy, it's hard. Understand.

Going to Cambridge (Ontario) today to meet a client, then class tonight.

Take care,

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, Lori, and Judy--

This morning I did Burn Sets ch, ba, sh (50 min.).

Deb, I don't know if there will be a season 6 for Doc Martin. Hope so!

Valerie, that sounds so difficult to handle over the phone. How old is your sister? I take it she's too young for Medicare. Is she eligible for Medicaid if she doesn't get disability?

Josie, the weather here is so changeable. Today is in the 60s, but it is supposed to plummet by Friday. I don't know if that includes NYC.

Lori, I hope everything is okay with your brother.

Judy, it has been really tough to lose two treasured pets so close to one another. How is Echo doing? Thriving in a new home, I hope.
