Good Morning,

Finished STS Back and a Cardio Coach treadmill 30 minute workout.

The play was kind of weird last night. Like Garance mentioned, The 39 Steps is an Alfred Hitchcock classic drama/mystery movie and they took it and made it a campy comedy. Strange, I was really looking forward to the original being done live. oh well, the Thai food afterwards was good. I still have some stuff to do around the house to get it back to normal after Thursday.

Cathy, hope you are not getting sick...but it seems like everyone is getting something. We have had more sick people at work this year than I can remember having in a long time.

Garance, I didn't tell you that I did win another DVD of Physique 57, the30 minute one. This time I will actually get it. I am going to sub it for my leg workout, not doing STS legs for a while, as my knee is still hurting.

Hi to Josie, Joan & Valerie!

Hi Deb and any later posters--

This morning I did Christi Taylor's Fit to Dance (70 min.). This is my week off between Meso 1 and 2, so I am doing all three Physique 57s, two of them with some added cardio (probably Leslie), and circuits.

Deb, I forgot to respond to your questions about DWTS. I thought Mya was the better dancer and Donny the better showman--more of a fan base and a bigger personality. Did you by any chance see any of the National Dog Show? I always watch it on Thanksgiving while my guys watch football. The best in show was a little terrier named Sadie--like the Bushes' terrier. A real cutie. I really don't see how Hitchcock, the master of montage and suspense, transfers to the stage. He is famous for his storyboards, with every shot planned out in advance. In the shower sequence of Psycho, there are over 80 shots from multiple angles and shot lengths. Try doing that on stage--impossible.

I decided to get the step and travel DVDs from the new shock series. I just don't understand the enthusiasm for the MMA workouts. You'd have to get a bag and gloves for the boxing, and I'm sorry, but I don't think kickboxing is Cathe's best cardio. Or maybe I like Amy Bento and KCM better on kickboxing.

I might go for another hike today, the weather is so pretty.

Monday

Good Morning,

No workout, I was awake until almost 3:00 am..turned off the alarm at midnight. Not sure what happened, DH was not snoring that badly, a couple of hot flashes, but nothing that would normally bother me. Maybe going back to work today was stressing me.

Garance, I agree on your take on DWTS. It is more of a popularity show sometimes. I didn't agree with Derrick and Joanna getting voted off when they did, she was a better dancer than Kelly. No, I didn;t see that dog show but wish I would have remembered, I could have taped it. I agree that you cannot do those shots and things on stage like film, but it is really amazing what they can do, even with something like a thriller. I have seen "Wait Until Dark" on stage and it was great.

I ordered the new 20 lb. vest, since I had a 20% off coupon from ordering the calendar. I think I will get the travel dVD from this new series. Hopefully the hotels I stay at in the future have a DVD player, because I do not want to drag a laptop with me when I fly.

Josie, Joan, Valerie, I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

Cathy, how are you feeling?

Have a good day!

Hi Ladies,

I did not workout the whole week that I was out because of my grandkids. I'm happy to say that I did not gain any weight. I guess the kids kept me busy enough to burn some calories while playing with them.

I will be training on my bike this evening and have decided to start doing the PLB to get my legs ready for the ride. I will be doing the tape twice per week.

Sorry for not posting last week, but I usually do not get on the computer when I'm on vacation.

I will be back later.

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie--

This morning I did the Physique 57 57 min. workout.

Gosh it's cold and ugly here today. I am glad I went for a walk yesterday afternoon.

Deb, I agree with you on Joanna. Kelly just seemed to pout her way into everyone's hearts, always claiming she really isn't any good so we would feel sorry for her. I have a 10% coupon from ordering my 2 Shock Cardio DVDs, but I don't know what to buy, if anything. Maybe if she comes out with the band that is supposed to go with Travel Cardio.

I am wondering whether I should adopt a greyhound. They closed all the dog-racing tracks in MA, so now there are about 300 dogs in need of adoption. I have heard that they are really sweet dogs. Any thoughts?? Not exactly a farm dog, so I wonder.

Anybody see any Cyber Monday deals and coupons??

I haven't kept track of exactly what I did since last wed but something every day. We went on 2 hikes, neither very good but enough exertion to call cardio, one day 2 hours, another 2.5. uphill with a 25 pound pack in snow is a fair amount of work. but we should have brought showshoes and didn't. they're heavy and we thought we wouldn't need them but we did. ended up turning back sooner than planned when the snow got too deep.

also got in GS back/biceps and GS chest triceps, along with treadmill, stationary bike and coremax. and then there was woodmax! Finished our wood splitting for now. I hosted on Tday and worked out that day too.

Today I need to get groceries... went from the cupboard overfull to out of just about everything except for turkey. froze most of that for the future. The pie is gone. I do make a good pumpkin pie. Ialways use cooked squash instead of pumpkin. we grow squash and each year I cook it, freeze it, and use it for pumpkin the next fall. It's very good. I don't remember buying a can of pumpkin in decades.

hey all, i feel fine. was just wore out i guess.

today, i did the firm's jiggle free arms, (that is a toughie). and added 13m extra weight circuit. then i did ab circuit from STS, yoga. i lifted pretty heavy in JFA, so i'm thinkin' i may be hurtin' tomorrow.
and, i am still thinkin' about cancelling STS cardio, guess i better do it quik, huh? what do ya'll think? i'm afraid it is just gonna be too hard on my feet.

Tuesday

God Morning,

No workout today, another bad night. It was not DH this time, he hardly snored at all. Just could not get to sleep, then when I did, after midnight, I kept waking up.

It snowed last night for the first time, there is about 2 inches on the ground.

Josie, sometimes you have to take some time off from workouts, your body will thank you. Sounds like you had a nice week with the grandkids too so that makes it even more important.

Garance, I got the Physique 57 workout yesterday, now if I can only sleep so I can try it out. Greyhounds are wonderful house dogs, almost all have sweet dispositions. They are couch potatoes, love to cuddle and lay around the house. Not many are crazy active (like terriers!). We were thinking of adopting one at one point, but DH likes active dogs.

Valerie, WTG on the workouts!

Cathy, I never pre-ordered STS Cardio because it looks like a lot of impact and not my kind of workouts. Like Garance, I will probably order the Travel one, but still have not done it. It would be nice to see clips before ordering. Not sure if the will be up while it is still on a pre-sale.

Have a good day ladies!

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie--

This morning I did BM2, the Cardio and Weights premix (70.5 min.).

Poor Deb! I hope you have a good night's sleep tonight. DH not sure he wants a dog that won't be a companion to him outside. I still might get one for myself. I finally went to Target to get a playground ball for Physique 57. The only ones they had were emblazoned with cartoon creatures. My choices were Transformers, Sponge Bob, or a host of damsels from Disneyland--Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty et al. Okay--guess which one I went for.

Do all of you have a favorite brand of jeans? Mine is Lucky Brand. I just bought another pair because I wear my old ones so much that I need another pair so I can wash them. I also love them because I can get them in a short inseam size--30".

Cathy, I cancelled my preorder for Shock Cardio once I saw the pictures going up--very clearly a lot of jumping, leaping, flying. I did preorder the travel and step DVDs. I am pretty good at eliminating a lot of impact from step routines, and at least one of them looks like the Cathe of olden days, when she was the queen of step in my opinion.

Hi to Joan, Josie, and Valerie!

Hi Deb, Garance, Josie, Valerie and Cathy,

I've decided my goal for December is to post on line , use nutrition software and do a workout everyday until vacation Dec 29.

My calorie count is too high for today but at least I know what I ate. I did Drill Max premix 1. I may sort of follow the Dec rotation, but no 200 sit ups. I can't wait for the treadmill Saturday.

Today was beautiful almost in the 60's. Elliot and I played outside and then had a "picnic" on the deck. Hot chocolate or in Elliot's case marshmallows. Tomorrow we are supposed to have our first snow of the season.

I still have order for shock cardio and will spend most of my time looking at the boxes instead of doing them. I hope there is something that makes it worthwhile.

Joan

Wednesday

Good morning!

I actually got 5 hours of sleep without waking which was heavenly. I am off work today because we have someone coming to look at our bathroom for remodeling. It's the same one someone looked at a year ago and he never called back when he said he would. I hope this guy is better. I plan on going to Target to get my squishy ball and maybe doing the Physique 30 minute workout later. I viewed it last night and it looks like a killer!

Garance, ok, I cannot guess which ball you chose....I would choose the one with dogs, did they have 101 Dalmations? Is that a Disney film? LOL...I never tried Lucky jeans but have heard good things about them. Where do you get them? I get cheap Lee or other type.

Joan, you should try getting a treadmill workout from ITrain.com when you get your new treadmill. I love them and swear they are the only thing that got me back using my treadmill. They have all types, 30, 40 or 60 minutes, straight walking ones, or ones with walking, jogging and running. It keeps you interested and challenged at the same time. Do you have an MP3 player or IPod? I like your December goal. It is mine too, if I could get any sleep.

I just pre-ordered Travel Fit.

Hi to Josie, Cathy and Valerie..

Hi Ladies,

My wo with Kevin was good. I asked him to transfer me to a more advanced class since my partner is flaking out on me. I used to have great partners, but the last 2 have flaked on me and the good ones moved away. I wish you ladies lived near me.

Today is a spinning day. I will be ordering my Physique 57 as a Christmas present for myself.

Garance, I also love Lucky jeans, but I also like Lee jeans. I always get good deals on jeans from Ross.

Joan, I love my treadmill, I have the Cardio Coach CD's and like them very much.

Hi Cathy and Valery.

Josie

Hi Deb, Josie, Joan, Cathy, and Valerie--

This morning I did the Physique 57 30 min. for arms and abs with 2 miles from Leslie (30 min.).

Deb, I get my Lucky Brand jeans online since there is no place around here where they are sold. I buy the Easy Riders with a boot leg. I went with Cinderella et al for my playground ball. Like I said, the other options were Transformers (uh-uh!) and Spongebob (uh-uh!). The balls come in a cardboard holder that says for age 3 and up. Way up in my case. DH thinks the ball is hilarious. Hey--at least this morning I did not feel like I was trying to squeeze a cantaloupe between my thighs.

Joan, I admire your courage in staying with the Shock Cardio. If I had those DVDs, I would just get depressed looking at them. Hope your December resolution works.

Josie, I would love to be your workout partner. I am very dependable. Too bad you live thousands of miles away.

Hi to Cathy and Valerie!

ahahahahhhhhh

can't find a "squishy" ball...went to Target, they thought I was nuts, then in desperation tried Family Dollar and even Wallgreens....will have to start calling around..

Deb,

You might find it a the supermaket. My grandkids always want one when I take them there.

Josie

Hi again, Deb--

I found my ball in the toy section of Target, and it is labeled as a "playground ball." It was in an aisle that seemed to be devoted to balls--soccer, basketball, and mini-versions of them for younger athletes.

Good evening,

I just finished body max 2 premix 6. I wrote down what I ate so I just have to record it after I post here. I just need to get to the point where I plan it before I eat.

Deb Have you seen anyone about your lack of sleep? I think you get less than me. The ball I got was a kid's ball, I just picked one that had less air in it. They are pretty hard when completely filled . Mine is lime green and Elliot's is Cinderella.

Josie I would love to be your workout partner. I'm not as faithful an exerciser as Garance by myself but I would never let a partner down so I would definitely benefit. I wish I could find someone nearby also. When I was going to the gym I recognized lots of guys who were regulars but no women. My closest friend is quite overweight and has type 2 diabetes but won't consider an exercise program.

Garance I have never been able to find any jeans to fit. My waist and hips are proportional but my abdomen is huge. In the past it was due to grapefruit size fibroid, now I think it's just fat.

Joan

Thursday

Good Morning,

No workout today, bad night again. I saw every hour.

DH said he would go by Dick's today and see if he could pick up a playground ball for me. I have a hair cut apt after work so no time to do it myself.

Josie, what does Kevin do differntly in his advanced class? longer? I have a couple cardio coach's loaded on my MP3 player too, they are good, but I like the I-treads better because she gives you numbers to use on your treadmill, while CC is done by perceived exercion and training zones. I use my HRM so I know the training zones pretty well.

Garance, are the jeans you get very low/short type rise? some of those are hard for me to wear and I would have to try on first.

Joan, You are on the right track regarding planning. I find that I do awful when I just grab whatever is available and don't plan meals. Regarding the lack of sleep, I am seeing my DR in a couple of weeks for my yearly physical and I will mention to him. I am not one for meds though and am afraid he will prescribe something.

Have a good day.

good morning all;

I didn't even look at r shock cardio. Love cathe but I prefer "mindless" on a machine or outdoors. I really HATE anything that resembles a step workout. for me cardio works best in its simplest form, like a treadmill while I watch a DVD or TV where I can't get inot trouble as long as I alternate feet. whoops, gotta get DH's breakfast so will finish shortly.
